Having just purchased a1978 88 SWB lightweight (military) I love looking at you guys taking the old Ladies to the limits. Unfortunately this is all impossible here in the Netherlands due to environmental issues. Keep up the good works.

It's impressive seeing how capable the discovery really is following the series 2a! What an incredible location. Wish you could have brought us the rest of the way, but what a very cool weekend trip.

Very cool, I remember looking down over the back of porter heights summit and wondering about how to get to this valley. Great adventure! The old sandflies is something I don’t miss from nz.

Amazing video. Great to see some others still using Series Land-Rovers as they were intended. Not many of us doing this now over in the UK. I'd give this trail a go in my SIII 88" 200Tdi if it wasn't on the other side of the planet!

It's got a Toyota celica gearbox. Works very well

Went up there about 3 weeks ago got to the car park you have to walk about 400 meters to the hut the track is getting rougher

Just remember, to engage the centre diff lock on the Disco II. Your traction will then be 50/50 and your vehicle will perform excellent!
Hey, I'm the owner of the discovery 2. It doesn't have center diff lock. All the 2003 models didn't have the ability. But some can have home made wires to activate it.
@@jacobskinner9700 the diff lock is still on the transfer box but for some stupid reason Land Rover deleted the linkage. If you can source an earlier Discovery 2 linkage ( my 2000 my had selectable diff lock ) it will fit straight in and if I remember correctly you can do it from the top by removing the centre console

It's got 265/70/r16 and no lift. Everything is the same from last video, just the driver getting better haha

No we didn't, we never went up that valley. Just went up the Harper river valley.
why did you change the engine man?
We bought it like that back in 1995. The guy we got it off did the conversion 👍🏽

Probably best to Google Harper campsite. Then follow directions 👍🏼
