Really love your style, no bs, just to it. I have a 2001 Yamaha in mint. Wish you had one of those I could watch you tinker on "-) Keep up the good work!
It´s been a while since the last time BMW installed this paper oil filter on their motorcycles. I think R100 and older R engines did, and the G650 with the Rotax engine.
Thank you for the video and explanations, I have a new 1300 motorcycle, I would appreciate it if you could send me the torque closing table for the BMW 1300 GS motorcycle thank you very much,
Do you know how many DIY or even regular mechanics will over tighten/Strip this new Stupid cartridge filter set up, instead of the old spin on, How idiotic. Also, next time put aluminum foil over the Headers so oil from this stupid filter set up, doesn’t drain all over the pipes.
I like the idea of the cartridge since there is less waste to contend with - better for the environment. German bikes ABS cars have been using this approach for some time. What I don’t like is the poor location of the cartridge and cover and the 2 drain plugs. Overly complicates a simple job, and makes changing the oil on a hot engine difficult. So the juice is not worth the squeeze in this case.

I appreciate the feedback!
I consider a cartridge oil filter a step back. I prefer a spin on canister type.
Maybe so, but it is certainly easier to remove and replace. I like it.
Thanks for the excellent video. Much appreciated! Which lower engine crash bars have you installed? They look great!
The crash bars are SW Motech. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for those. I hunted all over for just this video. Subscribed.
Thanks for watching. More R1300 videos coming soon.
Great video. 🎉. Jim
Thanks, Jim!

thank you very much,
I’ll post it when I get one produced.
Why do large modern bikes have such small filters?
Filter envy?
😍
Thanks :)
Mercedes logo inside the oil filter cover 😂
Haha yeah kinda.
Did you get a new toy, Kurt?
Not mine, but I have a deposit on one! You?
@@PacMoto not a new bike--but a Mini Cooper (used). Have been having fun driving something that's not a truck or SUV.

That’s a good idea. I use foil when I drain the final drive oil.
🤣 GS 13'000 👍
Haha!

Did you just say “Better for the environment” 🙄🙄, I just threw up a little in my mouth reading that.
Actually it seems the two drain plugs helps with a more thorough drain. I like it.
@@PacMoto OK. 😏
