I called Stoick dying just from watching the early trailers, I don't know why, I just had a feeling. However, I was still blindsided by _how_ it happened. And that funeral scene is one of my favorite scenes from Dreamworks, due to how beautifully it plays out.
I know a lot of people were mad at the trailer of “How To Train Your Dragon 2” for giving away the reveal of Hiccup’s mother Valka not only being alive but a protector of dragons, but in the end it was wise to early reveal that plot twist because of the later and even bigger plot twist of Stoick getting killed and the way and reason he got killed. That was unknown to us until the movie came out. I’d already spoiled that for myself by the time I first saw it, but there’s honestly a world of difference between reading about it and actually seeing it happen, so when I was watching the movie for the first time and that scene came on, it was really shocking.
I wasn’t expecting Himpty’s betrayal, Fiona’s dad was the frog prince, or that Metraman was still alive when I first watched the movies! They were all complete shockers!
I initially didn't like Phil and Hope Betterman because they tried to steal Guy from the Croods, but I did like their daughter, Dawn Betterman, because she actually got along very well with the Croods. But I warmed up to Phil and Hope when they showed they're becoming better friends with the Croods in The Croods: Family Tree.
I kind of saw Metroman being alive coming. No superhero would give up and die so easily. I was however shocked by the Dragon Scroll being blank and Stoic's death, however.

There is one DreamWorks movie that is so underrated and has a major plot twist. If anyone know this movie, like it, and the songs, you are amazing! It is called Home. It's about a purple alien who meets a human girl and they both go on this big journey after Oh, the alien, accidentally sends an invite to a party to the entire galaxy. The alien's species's, The Boov, is scared of The Gorg, the supposed villian. They all freak out and try to cancel the invite so it doesn't make the gorg go after them again. Through their journey, they learn feelings and that they were wrong about humans. The human girl, Tip, has lost her mother during the invasion and that is another reason they are on this journey. It is very sad, funny, amazing. The true villian of the movie is Captain Smek, the leader of the Boov...which is one of the plot twist. But the big plot twist was that despite them canceling the invite, he was tracking the Boov because Captain Smek has a rock on his staff. It's actually not a rock and it's an egg holding generations of Gorg. I suggest everyone goes watch it. It's real cute and one of my favorite movies
I kinda saw Creek's betrayal coming, since his voice actor, Russel Brand, is the voice of one Dr Joseph Albert Nefario, Gru's partner in crime from the Despicable Me franchise, who, in the second film, enabled El Macho to create an army of purple minions

Fiona’s curse was hinted at during the beginning and when Lord Farquaad found out about her. It was hinted so many times. That ain’t a plot twist. That’s foreshadowing.
Fiona being an ogre was actually pretty obvious. In fact it was hinted at before Shrek went to rescue her. The scene in question is where the villain is choosing his bride. The magic mirror has given him three options, with the first two being well-known fairytale princesses and an unknown one as the third which is Fiona. When he selects Fiona, the mirror tries to tell him about the curse but he brushes the mirror off and refuses to listen.

That was unknown to us until the movie came out. I’d already spoiled that for myself by the time I first saw it, but there’s honestly a world of difference between reading about it and actually seeing it happen, so when I was watching the movie for the first time and that scene came on, it was really shocking.
Honestly, I think the reveal that the Spiny Mandrilla was enslaving the Punch Monkeys was a better twist.
You're right. I had a feeling Phil and Hope would be jerks (a lot of Peter Dinklage's characters are).
It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since '"Shrek" came out!

Do a list about the most good movies about DreamWorks. I love DreamWorks movie lists
Oh sugar honey iced tea! DreamWorks had more than a handful of plot twists in their movies!
You could honestly make a list of just plot twists in Shrek all on its own. That franchise is packed with plot twists.
The Curse of the Wererabbit plot twist scares me. I thought it was so creepy when he became a giant creepy bunny.
Bunny cute he was cute
Oops I meant *bunnies are cute but not that one*
5 out of 10 really surprised me
That scene where Hiccup and Toothless say goodbye made me cry.
Haven't seen the sequel to the croods. Must watch it
155: We can all agree that Fiona is different than any other princess.
Too bad this was posted before the bad guys was released. Professor Marmalade really being a true bad guy would have been a great section to add to this video.
You forgot to mention that while Hiccup and Toothless go their separate ways, about a decade later they reunite with their children in an absolutely adorable scene that makes me cry every time I watch it
How about when we learn that the secretary mrs.Bellweather was behind everything bad was happening in Zootopia?
Or when De La Cruz isn't the grandfather of Miguel in Coco?
Or even when Po IS indeed the dragon warrior in Kung Fu Panda 3?
Two of those (zootopia and coco) are in their list of disney plot twists you didn't see coming
Plot twist are amazing to watch and plot holes are fun to look for!
The biggest plot twist was going into The Last Wish with low expectations.

My special thanks goes to the people at WatchMojo and MsMojo. They’re the reasons that I created this ranking after watching their “Tackled Serious Issues” videos so far. Alright then; let get to this serious list:

I love that movie, Rhianna voiced tip right?
@@ayeishashaffizpajotagana6944 Yes!!!!!! She was amazing in that movie
I've seen Shrek 2 a thousand times and I still get shocked when Fiona's dad turns into a frog lol
I kinda saw Creek's betrayal coming, since his voice actor, Russel Brand, is the voice of one Dr Joseph Albert Nefario, Gru's partner in crime from the Despicable Me franchise, who, in the second film, enabled El Macho to create an army of purple minions
Creek is actually one of my favorite characters.
I really wish that they didn't make him the twist villain.
He deserved so much better than that.
Trolls World Tour had a plot twist, too. Too bad the marketing ruined it.
What were those?
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 the plot twist or the marketing?
@@annafowdy plot twists
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 oh, yeah. It was about Hickory. That's all I can say.
@@annafowdy I know that but I don’t think there were any other plot twists
My favorite animated studio needs more Oscar wins
Too bad _Trollhunters: Rise of the Titsns_ will not be in theaters, otherwise, they probably would've nabbed Best Animated Feature.
@@indiecinemaster4699 Agree. I wish the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy won.
@@indiecinemaster4699 Neither was Cartoon Saloon's Wolfwalkers or Pixar's Soul. But i'm not sure if the current circunstances are like the ones last year.
When I was a kid and watched "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of Were-Rabbit" in cinema, I was frightened of Were-Rabbit transformation scene😮
I totally saw the betterman's not being the best after all. But I totally didn't expect to see metroman alive or wallace as the wererabbit
These were all surprising when I first watched these movies! And why haven't we gotten a megamind 2?
Unfortunately I got spoiled the second place. But It doesn't change a fact, that I have goose bumbs every freakin time, and I've watched it like 10 times already.
Edit: I also have goose bumbs to watching this scene in this ranking.
Oh actually the one with Princess Fiona and King Harold were kinda obvious in retrospective
Because Fiona never wanted to be seen in the dark and the mirror wanted to warn Lord Farquard about that
And a frog said hi to King Harold when he was in the bar

(Spoilers)
There was also a couple of plot twists in The Bad Guys. The 1st was that Professor Marmalade was the twist villain and even made Wolf want to become good by disguising as an old lady. The other was that Diane Foxington was a bad guy too but not just a bad guy, but The Crimson Paw.
Ooh! I love plot twists in animation
A lot of the first movie's plot twists in Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, and How To Train Your Dragon were what caught me by surprise.
Nice job Shrek and Kung Fu Panda
Fiona’s curse was hinted at during the beginning and when Lord Farquaad found out about her. It was hinted so many times. That ain’t a plot twist. That’s foreshadowing.
Number 3 was actually revealed in the trailers.
Wow! Definitely some of these really surprised me!
The top DreamWorks Plot Twists That You Didn't See Coming that I recognize and enjoy watching are Po's Biological Father Is Alive from Kung Fu Panda 2, The Dragon Scroll Is Blank from Kung Fu Panda, King Herald was a former frog prince, "Shrek 2", Lola teams up with the sharks from Shark Tale, Alex is manipulated from Madagascar and Princess Fiona turns into an ogre from Shrek 2

Yess
Hiccup lost his leg because Toothless had to grab him there before the fire would have devoured him. Toothless used his teeth.
He can retract his teeth and use gums for grabbing. On the other hand, when they crashed into Red Death's tail they crashed left-side first, where Hiccup's leg was.
@@MysteryUser-Who-Is-Mysterious he can't use his gums because it doesn't have enough grip. And even if his leg is broken he did not have the texture to hold on to.
When I was a kid, I kind of saw Princess Fiona turning into an ogress coming. The moment the Magic Mirror said, "I probably should mention the little thing that happens at night." I said to myself, "I wonder what that is." When Fiona was first seen as an ogress, I said to myself, "So that's what the mirror meant."
i have always found shrek's little head shake so wholesome
#2 should've been #1. Such a heartbreaking twist.
very very great fun list I like it a lot very great job mis mojo one of my very favorite list ever ❤
you should make a video about top ten or top 20 characters from dreamworks francizes such as how to train your dragon, the croods , kung fu panda, madasgar, trolls and the boss baby

10:11 I consider him the Dreamworks Ganondorf.
I swear, if Prince Charming were introduced in the first movie and saved Princess Fiona, then the Shrek sequels would've never happened - but then again, Shrek agreed to rescue Princess Fiona so Lord Faarquad could give him his swamp back
you should make a top ten dreamworks sequels
I waited weeks to watch this in fear of spoiling the DreamWorks movies I haven't seen yet (Sinbad, Boss baby 2 & spirit: riding free). I'm glad I decided to just watch it & keep my fingers crossed.
