I was laid off last week. Thank you for these tips. I happened to have a friend working at a company with a perfect fit job for me. I applied and heard back from them after two days, but the phone interview was scheduled for 8 business days later. Do you think I have a good shot at getting this job and do you have any tips for nailing a phone interview. I am a true millennial and feel very uncomfortable on phone calls.
Do you know if the phone interview is with the recruiter or the hiring manager? That would determine how I would approach it. I made a video about making it past the recruiter if you know it's a screening interview - ua-cam.com/video/KeeJcKdT5yE/v-deo.html If it's with the hiring manager, I have a low cost guide at worklikeagirl.co/products that focuses heavily on behavior based interview questions, and how to answer. My best advice is to practice, especially if nervous with the phone. Rehearse with multiple friends, write down your answers, and practice more. Good luck! I'm cheering for you.
That's good to recognize, and then set boundaries around. For example, no more than three video calls a day might be a rule. See what your energy levels allow, and honor them.
Much appreciated!
