It's true that the inside of the model won't be as fully cured as the outside, since the light from the UV lamp won't be able to fully penetrate, but I don't see how there could be liquid still trapped inside. The printer cures layer by layer throughout the entire print. The only way there would be a pocket of liquid is if you printed something hollow and didn't add any drainage holes. *hey I could get a 3D printer, find a Admiral Ackbar print thing, print it, try to paint it well, have a 3D printed Admiral Ackbar and add it to my collection* *or I guess I could just buy one vintage Admiral Ackbar*
You could make that argument about 3D printing literally anything to do with Star Wars, but I think it's an overreaction. In the vast majority of cases people are printing things because they are big fans of a franchise -- not as a way to get something without paying for it. And in this particular case, Hasbro/Lucasfilm is losing nothing because there are no products based on the vintage Amanaman. The only other way to get this figure is to pay $150+ on the secondary market -- zero cents of which goes to the copyright holder.
@@MightyJabbasCollection no you can't. Because the difference would be who sculpted it or not. The guy you supported didn't sculpt those figures he copied them like Black Major does. That's theft. If someone makes a 3d model of anything copyrighted for free it's not infringement. And no, reselling a toy isn't the same as copyright infringement. Did you actually think those were valid points?!? 🤷🏻♂️ You paid a guy for a model he has no right to reproduce. 🤷🏻♂️ Had he release the scans for free he wouldn't be stealing money from Hasbro or infringing a copyright. And trying to justify it because eBay scalpers sell at a high price? That's not justifying someone who can't sculpt anything themselves stealing from a real sculptor. If you can't afford a vintage figure then you can't afford one. Stealing the sculpt like this is breaking the law. Hasbro/LFL ARE loosing money over this kind of thing. What do you think our country is doing when it sanctions China for constant IP theft? 🤷🏻♂️ Hasbro and LFL simply can't afford to prosecute all these thieves because so many people like you are willing to help/supprt theft. :{
@@MightyJabbasCollection what you did is the equivalent of buying a bootleg DVD/album. And then broadcasted it and the guy selling the bootleg copies. Then you actually tried to justify the bootleg copies with invalid points. :{
Again, if this were a copy of a toy currently in stores, then that argument would hold water. This is more like copying a VHS tape of a movie that has been out of print for 30+ years. But in any case I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here.
@@MightyJabbasCollection wrong. The copyright is still in effect. And you, me, this thief, we do not own the rights to this sculpt. We're also not the guy who sculpted them. Either way copying an out of print vhs is still copyright infringement/theft when someone currently holds the IP rights. IE Hasbro/LFL. You gave me more invalid points. You see, you can't justify this with facts because you're wrong. The dude is wrong for selling someone else's work and you're wrong for supporting it and then trying to justify it with nothing valid/factual. I may not like scalpers or high toy prices, but at least I'm not a thief and at least I don't buy stolen goods. Maybe you should try sculpting something original? And when douchebags start stealing the sculpt and making money off your work, then maybe you'd be able to grasp why this is wrong and shouldn't be supported. :{

And in this particular case, Hasbro/Lucasfilm is losing nothing because there are no products based on the vintage Amanaman. The only other way to get this figure is to pay $150+ on the secondary market -- zero cents of which goes to the copyright holder.
@@MightyJabbasCollection no you can't. Because the difference would be who sculpted it or not.
The guy you supported didn't sculpt those figures he copied them like Black Major does. That's theft.
If someone makes a 3d model of anything copyrighted for free it's not infringement.
And no, reselling a toy isn't the same as copyright infringement.
Did you actually think those were valid points?!? 🤷🏻♂️
You paid a guy for a model he has no right to reproduce. 🤷🏻♂️
Had he release the scans for free he wouldn't be stealing money from Hasbro or infringing a copyright.
And trying to justify it because eBay scalpers sell at a high price? That's not justifying someone who can't sculpt anything themselves stealing from a real sculptor.
If you can't afford a vintage figure then you can't afford one. Stealing the sculpt like this is breaking the law.
Hasbro/LFL ARE loosing money over this kind of thing. What do you think our country is doing when it sanctions China for constant IP theft? 🤷🏻♂️
Hasbro and LFL simply can't afford to prosecute all these thieves because so many people like you are willing to help/supprt theft. :{
@@MightyJabbasCollection what you did is the equivalent of buying a bootleg DVD/album.
And then broadcasted it and the guy selling the bootleg copies.
Then you actually tried to justify the bootleg copies with invalid points. :{
Again, if this were a copy of a toy currently in stores, then that argument would hold water. This is more like copying a VHS tape of a movie that has been out of print for 30+ years. But in any case I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here.
@@MightyJabbasCollection wrong. The copyright is still in effect.
And you, me, this thief, we do not own the rights to this sculpt. We're also not the guy who sculpted them.
Either way copying an out of print vhs is still copyright infringement/theft when someone currently holds the IP rights. IE Hasbro/LFL.
You gave me more invalid points.
You see, you can't justify this with facts because you're wrong. The dude is wrong for selling someone else's work and you're wrong for supporting it and then trying to justify it with nothing valid/factual.
I may not like scalpers or high toy prices, but at least I'm not a thief and at least I don't buy stolen goods.
Maybe you should try sculpting something original? And when douchebags start stealing the sculpt and making money off your work, then maybe you'd be able to grasp why this is wrong and shouldn't be supported. :{
