Ville is a genius, I love him!
Linde’s guitar is from another world. I love this song.
I would love to see you react to songs from Ville's (aka VV) solo album, Neon noir, which was released earlier this year. He was working on it during covid, so he ended up doing basically everything (singing, instruments, producing…) by himself. He still has his special charisma, just kind of more mature. And he still looks so good, even though he's getting close to his 50s. He also seems to be so happy and doing so well these days, it really warms my heart.
Linde’s guitar sound is ear orgasm. He is really underrated.
Tbh this album, Love Metal and Razorblade Romance are the only ones he gets to really have solos. Most of them are pretty simple but he makes them sound real good
HIM is/was great and they had a bit different style on every album. HIM - The Funeral Of Hearts would be great choice for the next reaction.

I think that since I own all their albums in a physical format and listen to a lot...the contrast inside tracks like this with them is something I'm more used to, and love it.
Same, Ville is an honest songwriter so he tends to be all over the place.
Oh damn, this is the song I properly got into HIM with. Venus Doom is still probably my favorite record by them. So happy to see it getting some attention from you. It's definitely their heaviest record as a whole. The other title track Bleed Well is also a top contendor for me though. Highly recommend.
Got to see HIM live twice and just saw Valo with his band back in April my favorite band of all time
Thanks for your reaction Anton I was surprised to see in my notifications earlier :) I understand this song needs time to grow on you and that Its your least favorite but glad you like the song 💟💟 it could be about one of his past relationships that went south during 2007. As someone said though, it was dedicated to a close friend who died by suicide. 2007 was a dark time in Ville's life and he almost died from drinking :( about 2023 Ville's first solo album is coming out on Jan 13 😊💜 btw this song is from HIM's 6th album Venus Doom💟💟 Happy Halloween 🎃🎃
Ville is just so talented. This song is from the album Venus Doom from 2007. My favorite album/time period is Dark Light, but I really like it all. Ville Valo's solo work is good too. This song grows on you after awhile. Or, at least it did for me. Oh, lol you just said that too while I was typing. 😆 Some songs are best when listened to when doing the whole album. I think this is one like that. The dichotomy of the soft/hard sound of this song threw me at first too.
According to something I read, Ville Valo has stated that the song was for a close friend who committed suicide soon after the band wrapped the recording sessions for Dark Light. Lyrics can so oftentimes convey many different meanings depending on the one doing the listening. Your interpretation is interesting. I love that about music - how it can mean different things to different people.
I believe it's Ville who is going on tour in 2023 versus HIM (as a band).
I love all of HIM too including Ville's solo work as well and I'm glad you do too💟💟 sadly some fans are not the same as you and me :( but to each their own. And yes Ville is going on tour next year and his album will be out in Jan. :) Idk why some fans been complaining though

@@lauraallen55 Ive seen some people or fans complain the way that Ville sounds now, complaining how they miss the chemistry of the band, saying the songs are "boring".... stuff like that (about Ville's solo career i mean) but some fans don't like the HIM albums after Love Metal
@@HeartagramGirl30 I see. Some people are like that. It sucks, but I've seen it happen to other artists. I happen to think that Ville has a lot of talent with or without the band. There is one big band that went through many changes, but true fans stayed with them. Genesis spawned careers of two solo artists and the other members together. Nirvana ended up becoming Foo Fighters with the loss of Kurt Cobain. It can be done, and Ville is talented enough to make it on his own I believe!

My favourite Finnish singer, JP Leppäluoto, covered one of their other songs on a Finnish TV show a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing. ❤️I'd love it if you'd react to some of his work; for his work in English, I'd suggest "Colder" by Charon, the band he became known for, or his first solo single "Kuoppa" (meaning "Pit"). He has an amazing voice.

@@HeartagramGirl30 I have to use a VPN to watch it, but it's on a Finnish site called Yle. The show is Elämäni Biisi, and the HIM cover is in an episode called "Häitä, hautajaisii ja saksalaisia ilmapalloja" (long title, I know 😅 at least I think that's the episode it's in).

I think the song's moodiness was based on his emotional intensity and sadness as it was based on the suicide of someone he loved deeply.

I always thought "the kiss of dawn" was basically a metaphor or something for the end of one thing and the beginning of something new. Like the "shadow drowning in the kiss of dawn" is a part of one's self fading away as the light of a new day consumes it? But i dunno, I'm not a genius like the writer of the lyrics 😅

Ville was massively hurt during this recording so it sounds a lot different from many of the collection. Venus Doom has become my favorite HIM album
