My favourite HIM era has to be the Love Metal era. My top 3 songs of all time are The Funeral of Hearts (also the best music video ever made imo), The Sacrament and Gone with the Sin. You should definitely react to these ❤️
Now that i watched this video again, I also love by HIM: Buried Alive By Love, The Funeral Of Hearts, The Sacrament, Right Here In My Arms, Join Me In Death (its a Romeo and Juliet inspired song), Gone With The Sin, In joy and Sorrow, and many others :) I really hope you still like this song even though its a bit lighter :)

You are a very intelligent and insightful person. A very heartfelt review for one of my favorite song lyrics, and of course Ville is my favorite singer songwriter since 1997 :D

Thank you so much 💟💟 I understand you like the more dark aspect of HIM which also is what most fans like and I do too, but I also love the lighter side and yeah the song is poppy but as I said it's still HIM. They had a different producer for Screamworks back in 2009 2010 and yes at that time Ville wasn't smoking anymore or drinking because he went to rehab in 2007 during Venus Doom the 6th album. Although he went back to drinking in 2011 or 12. But now since the end of HIM Ville had stopped drinking and smoking and I hope he stays sober. He sounds more clear now. I've heard smoking causes damage to the voice, but I know you miss the deep voice. The Kiss of dawn my next song request is more dark. I know you want more dark and melodic so don't worry I got you :) I'm thinking of choosing the tears on tape videos next time around. Tears on Tape was their 8th and last album. Also my favorite era of HIM would have to be Dark Light. 😊💜

Hey. Please check out "In joy and sorrow" or "Right here in my arms" by HIM. My all time favorite songs of them. 👍
If you're looking for a longer, more melancholy HIM track I would suggest pretty much anything off of the Venus Doom album, including the title song Venus Doom itself. It's their...doomiest? Album I guess.
It was the album before Screamworks and probably my favorite by them. I would say that a good mix between the two bodies of work would be their last full release Tears on Tape.
Honestly, all of their albums have their own vibe sonically. Similar but interesting. Of course not all of them will be for everybody, but I'd be more than happy to see you react to any of it.
I don't know if you heard them, and you don't necessarily have to react to the songs, but Venus Doom, The Face of God, and WLSTD are my favorite song lyrics from the band. And Ville himself has been an inspiration to start writing myself. You can check out the lyrics, I'm sure you'll appreciate it.
It's been years now and I haven't stopped writing since (though I make pretty big pauses between writings, lol). I'm nowhere near his level, but the man just knows how to tickle your soul and simulate it and get your brain racking with his poeticism.

Clearly I did not sub to your channel earlier and just now found this.🙉 Favorite era, hmm. My not favorites are Love Metal and Dark Light albums... 3 top songs equally impossible to choose, but maybe Sleepwalking Past Hope, In Venere Veritas and In Joy And Sorrow are the ones I listen the most...
His stuff got increasingly darker---I see his albums as evolutions of his thought on life and love which got more cynical in some ways--but there is always still some hope peeking out...

The line "flatliner for heartkiller" brought the movie "Flatliners" starring Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland. It is worth of watching scifi horror film.
