The irony is that the Brexit referendum was called to save the Conservative Party from ripping itself apart over EU membership. Now Brexit has been achieved the Conservative Party is ripping itself apart because it's Brexiters all wanted different Brexit's and the Brexit they got was the one they didn't want.

Boris hasn't torn the Tories apart. He has torn the ENTIRE country apart.
Principles and Morals have gone out of the window. Baseless lies, bandwagons and doubling downs. A penny for the thoughts of those that ignored the warnings of the snake oil salesman...

The tories are tearing themselves apart, just like Labour did with the unions backing of Corbyn. Individuals selfishly seeking power and control for themselves rather than working together for the good of the country.
.. and the media are doing exactly the same tearing politics apart. All revelling in Johnson’s demise rather than backing him. Sod the country as long as the ratings are up.

You unfortunately have no clue what you are talking about.
Are you not listening. Did you not listen. To the news when they did everything to disgrace him and ultimately unseat him.
An elected prime minister. That should be the number one man in the country.
If that is possible or enemies will just be laughing at us. They will say, no longer do we have to fight them with bombs. We can just put a strong mole in the commons and ensure that whoever we want become PM
What has been done to Boris should never be possible.
Look at America the same thing happened to Trump but only the vote was able to remove him.
I can understand Theresa May who was not elected. However an elected prime minister!! That is something very different. Only a vote by the majority of the people should have the power to remove him. Nothing else.

      You simply hate him because,
He led the campaign to leave European union slavery camp,
And also fight to the finished to brought us out completely,
In which people like you are not happy about,
Because all these cases of winch hurt are simply excuses to punish him for EU exit,

It's like a Marriage. As an individual you are ultimately sovereign. The decision to agree to marriage requires your agreement. Once married you retain your sovereignty, the decision to remain married ultimately requires your consent. Nevertheless the day to day life of marriage requires you to sacrifice some autonomy, you will need to gain the agreement of your spouse in buying a house but you may hsve autonomy on how a bedroom is designed and what job you find. You are free to buy clothes but sometimes your spouse may veto a decision because you need to wear formal clothes for a dinner party you both agreed to. Some people in the UK object to having a partner and think they have given up too much automomy for not enough benefits. Another way to look at it is this. Some people in Scotland want Scotland-wide majority rule and object to having to obey to the will of the UK-wide majority. Ultimately each individual will have thier own belief on how far away they wish to share power and what power they share with what level of government. I know some people in Scotland who want Shetland Islands to leave Scotland. I know some in Scotland who want Scotland to leave the UK. I know some people in Scotland who wanted to leave the EU.

It seems to have been embraced by a well-organised gang known as our Government, led by a Pied Piper with a trick or two up his sleeve…

He might not win a seat in Parliament now but he WILL make a comeback.
It's all well calling it a "SCANDAL" he shouldn't have done it & he certainly shouldn't have lied BUT really ... He went to a couple of drinks parties during a lockdown.. a slap on the wrists, a dressing down, a hefty fine & a public apology should have seen the matter closed... But the back stabber's & their pet newspaper editor's wanted his blood, his job & his head, they threw a lot of money, favours & promises of promotion to those party members who are only there to enjoy the perks of being in parliament (now THERE'S A REAL SCANDAL) & no one backed him, he was forced out, the back stabber's won & the UK lost... BIG TIME
The back stabber's & hater's will soon be gone, the voter's will forgive him & no doubt the country will need him again, especially if all those who voted remain & are busily brainwashing the weakest leaver's into changing their votes in favour of remaining & trying to force either another referendum or just re enter without the public having a say.. if you thought getting BREXIT done was farcical, wait untill you see what re- entry look's like 🤦🏼‍♀️
Our "current PM" Mr What's his name ?. isn't as popular as Boris even now but sadly it's not down the electorate to decide, it's up to the politicians, we saw what a complete failure they are at choosing a leader (Teresa May for Cameron & Liz Truss for Johnson 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️) who knows if they have to do it again
we could well end up with Holly Willoughby as PM 🤷🏼‍♀️

`He NEEDED to step down when he did. MPs can't actually resign. When they say they are resigning from their seat, they are in fact moved to what's known as "An office of profit under the Crown", which effectively stops them being allowed within the Commons. They hold this office (a stewardship of an estate that no longer exists) until their by-election is completed, and then they properly step-down. The problem is, there are only TWO of these offices available... and Nadine Dorries had already taken one of them. He couldn't wait until anyone else decided to jump ship, and took the remaining office. At which point, his resignation could have been denied, and he'd have had to have taken the punishment. Ironically, it was Nadine Dorries that actually forced Boris to "take the Chiltern Hundreds" this early... and as Nigel Adams has shown, just in time. It will be interesting to see what office Nigel Adams is given, because both of the offices of profit under the Crown are currently occupied.

      @ApacheGamingUK Рік тому

Here's a non-legalese overview of the prodedings: When a UK Member of Parliament (MP) wishes to resign with immediate effect but both offices of profit under the Crown (Steward and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds and Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead) are currently occupied by MPs who have already resigned and are awaiting by-election, a unique situation arises.
Typically, when an MP wishes to resign, they apply for one of these offices of profit under the Crown. Accepting one of these offices is considered a legal fiction that disqualifies an MP from serving in the House of Commons. However, in this scenario, if both offices are occupied, the MP who wants to resign is unable to formally take up any of these offices.
In such cases, the MP can still effectively resign by adopting a procedural approach. They can request the Speaker of the House of Commons to grant them permission to make a statement in the House, formally announcing their resignation. The Speaker usually grants such requests as a matter of courtesy.
Although the acceptance of an office of profit under the Crown is the formal method of resignation, the Speaker's permission to make a resignation statement is considered an alternative way of achieving the same result. The Speaker's approval allows the MP to make an immediate resignation announcement, which is then officially recorded in the House of Commons records.
Once the resignation statement is made and recorded, the MP's seat becomes vacant, and the normal procedures for a by-election can take place to fill the vacant seat.

    • @ApacheGamingUK

@@anonUK Maybe so, but they do not hold offices of the crown, suitable for the legal fiction of resignation from Parliament. There used to be lot of these offices, however they have all now been disbanded, bar two.
From the wiki: MPs wishing to give up their seats before the next general election are appointed to an office which causes the MP to be disqualified from membership. Historically, all "offices of profit under the Crown" could be used for this purpose. However, only two are still in use:
Crown Steward and Bailiff of the three Chiltern Hundreds of Stoke, Desborough and Burnham
Crown Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead
The stewardships are unpaid positions that provide no benefits and carry no responsibilities. The Chiltern Hundreds last required an actual Steward in the 16th century. The main property of the Manor of Northstead was described in 1600 as "unfit for habitation" after "it fell down". The stewardships have been maintained as nominal offices of profit solely as a legal fiction to meet the requirements of the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975 and its predecessors.
The offices are used alternately, making it possible for two members to resign at the same time. When more than two MPs resign at a time-for example, when 15 Ulster Unionist MPs resigned in protest at the Anglo-Irish Agreement on 17 December 1985-the resignations are, in theory, not simultaneous but spread throughout the day, enabling each member to hold one of the offices for a short time. The former office-holder may subsequently be reelected to Parliament.
