    • @koma-k

@@ragingmonk6080 not sure about "largest provider" - if going by value of military support yes, but keep in mind that this also works as stimulus for the US military industry, and the value counted is the "as new" value and much of the equipment and ammunition would otherwise be slated for destruction or retirement. Then there's financial support, where Europe outpaces the US by some margin. And finally, the cost of refugees, which is considerable and of which the US bears none.
I'm not saying US support is in any way insignificant, but looking at the price of military equipment provided alone is misleading (though there is of course also a possible discussion here about monetary value vs value on the battlefield).

Take the M1A1 Abrams Tanks, yeah they are expensive but we are ramping up production of the M1E3 Abrams and the Market for M1A1's is winding down, in fact I don't believe they are even being produced anymore... Those Tanks going out are taking the place of Dollars we were just handing out that could be used for the new Tanks...
They probably could use the room too!!! Same goes for the M2 Bradley's, both are still modern enough to stand up to those pitiful Russian bottom of the barrel T-54 1945 WW2 Tanks Russia is wheeling out on the battlefield... How about giving a guarantee to Russia that Ukraine will never join NATO, but instead there will be a security guarantee issued to Ukraine by several countries like Finnland, Poland, The Baltics and whoever else wants to join and on top of that and additonally the US + the EU (which Putin never talked about) will sign a guarantee that in case Russia attacks Ukraine again or interferes with Ukraine's internal security they will provide x amount of funds and weapons? The EU NATO members have to invest more into their military anyways. So how about stockpiling tanks, planes, drones...which will be provided to Ukraine if Putin breaks the truce.
