C.K. bowled in a singles scratch league I was part of. It's been about 6 or 7 years since then. On the night I had to bowl against him, he beat me 300-249. My best game of the year at that point just couldn't get it done lol. As good a bowler as he is, he's an even better person.
I thought he would be a solid tour player. Maybe at the level of Mazza. Then, again, he came in on the tour when the money declined. Might not have been worth it. the thing I just realized with him is that he has late timing, but it doesn't jump out at you because he is so smooth and slow.
I bowl against this guy in league and he is probably the nicest and most helpful opponent in bowling! I've personally watched him bowl a couple 300s and it doesn't ever get old.
@@josefsteiner9163 his goal was never to be a pro bowler. He wanted to go all in for one year to see if he could hang with the big boys and he did just that. Afterwards, he returned to his true calling.
I only ever had 2 sanctioned 300 games, and both were in house leagues. Even then, my legs felt like Jello. With quite a few people watching, and two lanes of courtesy on either side, I was just hoping to keep it on the lane, not foul, and maybe even hit the headpin. I somehow stuffed all 3 shots, and the adrenalin dump after #12 left me light headed. It was 30 years ago, and that dinky ABC 300 ring is one of my most prized possessions, despite it being worth virtually nothing.
New technology of modern balls have taken away from a bowlers skill to the point that the ball does most of work for the bowlers. Inflated averages caused by new bowling ball technology in my IMHO has ruined the game of bowling. 300 games are now the norm even with house bowlers when in years past they were few and exceptional.
@@RU2AIM Cover stocks of reactive resin has made bowling balls "grab" the lanes better for more hook than bowling balls made back in the day of rubber bowling balls. Cores and axis tillt with different pin locations and layouts on balls all have contributed to higher scores with the technology of drilling the new modern bowling. Balls designed now are made to hook toward pocket when drilled properly. You can google phrases such as modern technology and bowling balls and reaad much about bowling balls today and their effect on the game.
@@RU2AIM You're very welcome. It is amazing what technology can do for a sport, good or bad. Just look at golf. Pros of years ago with steel shafts and wood heads would drive a bowl 300 yds at best. Now pro's with light weight shafts and composite heads balls spring off golf heads and drive balls 400 plus yds.

His first time ever in a televised broadcast. Guess the bright lights didn't phase him at all. You can see what a humble man he is.

@@hankgolfer1 As someone who knows CK but doesn't know bowling; What's changed about the ball which causes it to provide higher scores?

Parker Bohn was the only one thumbing this down LOL!
On top of the 300, C.K. Moore beat a fellow southpaw who is one of the all time greats on the PBA Tour.
Was this the only time CK Moore appeared on TV?
The cute blonde seen behind the proprietor of Highland Lanes caught my eye big time.
