I feel the Clark losing his powers storyline is a great analogy for aging. Speaking as someone who is middle aged and had really started to notice the tapering off of my own physicality, this story really hits home. It’s one thing to intellectually know that you’ll get old and die one day, but it’s entirely different to experience it.
Reverse Flash in the Flash show, once in one of the crossovers said to Supergirl: " I met Superman once. He's fast. I'm faster" and now we finally have there meeting (even tho he's not playing Wells xD), and tbf Superman just become slower, which is funny, from that perspective.
The fact that Thawne, Harry, HR, Sherloque, Pariah, and Godfrey are doppelgangers of Harrison Wells and all played by the same actor within the Arrowverse is just insane
24:44 Dr. Gorman's name came up in the conversation between John and Natalie. I think this is an easter egg related to Gus Gorman from Superman III played by Richard Pryor :) I also have a theory (of course I could be wrong) that Doomsday may still appear and help Superman in the fight against Luthor. Let me know what you think. Greetings from Krakow, Poland! :)
In a way Clark becoming human is a good thing. As a pure Kryptonian he would last thousands of years if not forever. This way he can grow old with Lois. I think that is great. The twins take over eventually. Nice end to their love story.
I was a little worried that Michael Cudlitz didn't direct an episode with so few episodes in the season considering that he directed a bunch of episodes when he was on The Walking Dead. Luckily they managed to slip one in for him and its the one with Tom Cavanagh who didnt play a Wells for once
Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor in Superman & Lois, looks EXACTLY like how I always pictured Luthor from the comics to look like, specially in the 90s when he had that gorgeous mane of red hair (seen in flashbacks)! It is a real shame he is not the actor in the Superman movies. Zack Snyder and James Gunn both cast the worst looking non-ginger actors to portray Luthor!
Am I the only one who’s expecting Gordan Godfrey to be revealed to be Thawne in Disguise and just fight Superman in the finale? (Obviously it won’t happen but I’m just expecting it)
I just have to say…him losing his powers is one thing…but by the end of the episode, Clark basically confirms to his boys that the heart is failing. Not just his abilities, but his life. They literally had the “I’m dying” discussion. That the heart will at some point just…stop working. John Henry said he has heart disease. Johnathan asking how long he might have left really brings that conversation home…and added on that while he “could” last as long as Sam may have had left, that’s unlikely, due to the strain on the heart. Therefore…given that they are revealing this on the 3rd to last episode…they need to find a way to rectify this before the finale, otherwise he won’t be strong enough to fight that last battle. They can’t leave Superman essentially “sick” as it were. PS: the next episode is titled To Live and Die Again…hmmmmmmm
Oh yeah, before I forget, this 4th season complete the circle with this show. In Season 1 we thought Steel was Lex Luthor, now Lex Luthor will take Steel suit and become his villain just like season 2 and 3 with bizarro/doomsday. and yeah where the hell is Doomsday or Tal-Ro?
@@Omn1Media you should check it out. It’s corny and campy, but it has one very good moment that’s actually already been potentially referenced in the Arrowverse during Crisis when Routh returned as Superman.
Lex had Heart surgery. He had Superman’s heart put in place of his original heart. Remember when Lex stomped on the heart that Jordan was trying to grab? I figured this out. That was Lex Luther’s original heart.
I agree partially, that was def not Superman's heart but i don't think that was Lex's heart. I think that Superman's heart is gonna be used for the power suit.
Sadly that is impossible. Starting 2025 all TV and Feature Films with DC characters will be related to James Gunn's DCU. Reason why this is S&L last season and why they rushed to finish what was becoming the new DC animated universe's "Tomorrowverse" as well.
I assume Lois' surgery is to have her port removed if her treatments are over. My only issue with this season so far is they are acting like at least some of the DOD soldiers didn't hear Lex order Doomsday to kill Sam over the phone. They made it seem like Lois could hear the conversation and there where soldiers standing only feet away from her that should have heard the same thing. Other than that I think this season is about the best Superman story they've ever produced.
It happened again. The CW pre-empted "Superman and Lois" again this week in the Los Angeles area in favor of a NBA game that, this early in the season, isn't all that important. And when did they decide to reschedule it? At the same time as the annual battle of Los Angeles - the USC / UCLA football game. Obviously, the local CW really doesn't give a shit about what is important to the people of Los Angeles, as even when both teams are struggling, the USC / UCLA game is always the ratings winner in Los Angeles by a wide margin. This year, it is an important game (even if both teams aren't going to be in the playoffs, the winner will be eligible for a bowl game, the loser having only one more chance to qualify for a bowl game). That's if they actually air it on Saturday, as is currently the plan. The last time they pre-empted "Superman and Lois" for an NBA game, the scheduled the episode to air the following Friday, only to pre-empt it again. I'm just going to say this once - this pre-empting for Clippers games is another reason why I am a Lakers fan - and why LA will always be a Lakers town! So, apologies once again, I will be avoiding your reaction until after I actually see the episode in full, so that I can avoid spoilers (if possible).
32:37 where’s Tal Roh too😂 I think maybe he’ll come back and sacrifice himself for something and they’ll use Tal’s heart maybe for Clark’s body?🤷🏽who knoww
Likely way off on this, but in the scene where Lex was having his mini "panic attack", it seemed like all his senses were enhanced. Made me wonder if during this quiet time where he was off-screen for an episode or two, did he get desperate enough to stick Clark's heart in himself and the heart he so willingly destroyed in front of Jordan was his own human heart?
It's really impressive that they've taken ideas which probably would have been a season unto themselves, and condensed things so expertly into one final epic season. I can see Brainiac being his own season, for example, that my have been their original intention. And Clark losing his powers, they could have done a storyline where he tried to keep his powers going by taking X-K, in a parallel to where Bizarro was addicted to Green-K in his own world. I'm still really hoping for some last minute solution to where Clark gets to keep his powers, but if he doesn't, then getting to live a normal, happy life with Lois while the boys take over the mantle of Superman, would be a happy ending in itself. I think Doomsday is going to figure into the end of the season somehow. I've seen one theory that he might give his heart to Clark. I'd be good with that. But I would also like to see him de-doomsdayed and given the chance to go back to his world and rebuild his family. Another thing I wonder if it was a dropped plotline - whatever happened with John's world? I wonder if there were plans to ever go back there, find out what happened, maybe liberate or rebuild it, perhaps with our Clark's help.
I hope Doomsday gives Clark his heart. I think one Lois got through to him that his mind came back. They closed all the ways to get back to his world so he may feel like the least he could do is make sure this world has its Superman at full power. Maybe his mother can do something about it being reversed and all. Make the heart and his body be able to absorb yellow sunlight. Not saying the boys can't do it, but they are still teenagers. Let them explore and grow up.
@thomasthorburn2751 Who says it's irreversible? It was supposed to be impossible for a human heart to bring him back at all. Even if he got a younger heart eventually the powers would still go. Maybe he would get his full powers back with a young heart.
So, remember, although there was an iteration of Braniac that was on Krypton, from the beginning he was from a planet that I believe was in opposition to Krypton, he's a Caluan. Here's what I am worried about, Gilbert was associated with Darksied, please, please Sup and Lois, DO NOT do what Smallville did and save Darksied to basically be setup and not be shown, if you watched Smallville, they basically had sort of a plague that was supposed to bring Darksied to earth, but, it was basically dragged to the very end then, before we even saw him completely, done. show over. I'm betting, they were going for the Trifecta of main Superman Villains, Lex, Brainiac and Darksied
But now, they can't do that in its entirety so they are just making a lot of references, and later down the line they will come out in an interview or something and say, yea, this is what we had planned if we were allowed to have a full run.
