I spent a lot of my life at that strip. Watched and raced. While on vacation in Florida 15 years ago I ran into Broadway Bob at Universal Studios, at Mel's to be exact. Hard to miss a guy with shock white hair a flame pants. I still think about that man. What a great human being. R.I.P. Bob.
At the three minute mark, the narrator claims one of the jet cars makes between 15,000 and 17,000 horsepower and has 12,000 lbs of thrust. This is totally wrong! The formula for converting jet thrust to equivalent shaft horsepower is jet thrust divided by 2.5. Using this formula, the 12,000 lbs of thrust equates to 4,800 shaft horsepower.
I LOVE THIS SH@#$T🤜🤛✌👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

No shaft, direct power off of jet propulsion
What year was that???

No finals come on LOL
Can't watch it-- way too over-copied and fuzzy. Too bad, great cars here....
Direct from Bob Metzler archives, complaint noted. ;)
