- Night of Fire is the Heads Up Drag Racing event during the 4th of July Weekend at Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin. See the fastest Jet Cars, Wheelstanders, Vintage Dragsters, Door Cars and Much more!
That was a great night! It was my first time at GLD, it did not disappoint!
This is awesome. Memories late 50th, 60th and 70th generation. My 5 brothers and I used to go see drag racing at a young age. Joliet Illinois us 30, bunker hill Indiana. And many other places. We all had muscle cars late 60th and 70th. 72 GTO 400cc, 69 chevel 396, 66 chevel 396, 69 mustang 289 cc just a few to mention. Thanks for bringing this up. Hopefully more will come soon. What the heck have they built in the field next to the right lane? It's been a few years since I've been there, but whatever it is wasn't there.
Yeah I was worried they were building a subdivision but I guess it is a solar farm.
Quite a few of the fields up there are solar farms now
The Superbird and Datona look like they're doing 300 mph sitting still.

@@thesquirrelchroniclesakare7808 I was very tempted in following that whole schedule of races this year. There is a car that is local to me that is going to be in most all of the races. But it just wasn't in the cards for me to do this year. Looks like a cool group of guys though. Some of them came up to Wisconsin over the Winter and drag raced on a frozen lake with our local guys. I filmed that and have it up in my TomEighty Facebook page.
