Love this so much. Our home is 100 years old and our stairs had a horrible metal plate on each one and they’re painted a seafoam green color. Can’t wait to restore them!

You need to use an oil based primer which will adhere and sanding not needed

We did the same thing at my parents house, but the seal we used after painting black it didn’t really worked, it looks dirty constantly and not sealed all the way, what else can be used to make the black paint look finished?
