    Agreed with the part where you said applying during December! Because that’s when businesses need Christmas casuals to help them and then if you’re lucky they will ask you to stay but you have to remember that’s not the case with everyone.

    I was actually planning on working in Australia. But your video really helped me to picture what it's like to be there. and I think I'm going to postpone my plan to go there and wait till this pandemic is over while saving up money.     Try this...before you get to Australia, make a few phone calls to some companies of your interest letting them know that you'll be in Australia and you are interested to find a job in the respective companies. Try asking them whether you can come for a walk in interview. In that way you might never know you'll be employed by them and hence they may sponsor your working visa if they are impress with your CV =)

    Thanks for your tips. I'm travelling to Brisbane next month, I really hope I can get a job. I can't seem to sort rental accommodation out as need to view in person so only booked airbnb for one month and hope to get a job and rental within that month.

      Awe the rental situation can be a little tricky but im sure you will find something! As for the job search, theres lots of job opportunities in the hospitality industry right now!

    I am waiting for the Covid situation to be under control and for borders to open back up so I can apply for a WHV... I was going to apply and go this September, unfortunately now I have to wait until next year or even longer :(

    Sorry to hear that :( unfortunately that’s not only an Australia problem, it’s hard like this all around the world. The only place I could find job without someone refereeing me was in Australia and I felt lucky. Right now I live in the middle of Europe, with a master diploma and unemployed 😩

    My dad wanna send me in Australia after highschool this year, he said just go find a job for a year and find a ways to how to enter and study in University. I thought it’ll be nice and easy than living here in South Korea. Your video is very informative and giving me anxiety rn😭

    So is any job okay if I want to get renewed for another work and holiday visa? They say you need 3 months of working at a “specified” job but online they make it seem like you have to work in agriculture in like the desert lol. Any information is much appreciated!

      Certain passport holders can do tourism and other specified work in remote or very remote Australia, all listed on their website for specifics

    How long do people tend to stay for? I want to stay for up to a year but am worried that less than a year will be way shorter than others go for and that I'll always feel like ive missed out?

      Usually 1 year. But you do whatever is right for you. Nothing wrong with leaving before the 1 year mark!

    My friend went to Australia for 6 months that had savings and got jobs before they even got there. They made it look so easy.

      Kyla Danae that's awesome! I wish my experience was that smooth sailing :( unfortunately I know alot of people that ended up leaving Australia after a couple months because they couldn't find a job and ran out of money so I think it can really depend on your timing and luck

    What would you recommend doing? I've been in the US my whole life and I wanted to go to Australia for better work opportunities. The economy in US sucks. I was working until the pandemic and lost my job. I need something new, life in America is too much for me.
    With my savings from unemployment, I need better opportunities for work and I like Australia a lot as a Hispanic Dominican 🇩🇴. Maybe I'll have better luck in Australia than America.

    Yes getting a job in australia now is like winning a lottery i would say lok at another country .Ten years ago there were lots off jobs bjut not now.Plus cost off liveing is very expensive now usted to be a very attractive place to go houseing was cheep lots off jobs food was cheep now houseing coasts are one of most expensive to live f oi d is expensive ive already said jobs are just not there mabee in a years time but now idd look at where u are nowi bet its harder there in ur own country let alone in a place urr not from

    Interesting, I’m not in my 20’s but I did notice Australian’s are extremely laid back in returning emails and phone calls this would drive the average American or Canadian a bit insane

    I dont know why you would go on a working holiday and apply for a tech or admin job. Hospitality is the easy choice. You meet so many interesting people.

      Yeah I wasnt really the typical "WHV" workers since I was there to be with my SO. I also already have a career back home so I wanted to try and get something in that field so I could continuously practice my craft. But looking back on it now I should have just gone straight into hospitality.

    It's just difficult to find a job in the city because everyone wants that but there are plenty of jobs in the outback (hospitality, farm, au-pair, construction) so I def wouldn't recommend people staying in the cities for long if you intend to save money.
