  • GIANT HE-MAN! 3-D Printed Masters of the Universe Figures
From Toy Shelves to 240% Scale Replicas - True Legacy Design"
Welcome back to the True Legacy Design UA-cam channel, where we delve deep into the world of toy nostalgia and craftsmanship. In this exclusive episode, we have the privilege of meeting Matthew Smith, the visionary founder behind True Legacy. Prepare to embark on an exciting journey as we step into Matthew's workshop, where he and his team are busy crafting something truly epic!
Matthew's passion for preserving the essence of our beloved childhood memories led him to embark on an incredible quest. In this video, he takes us behind the scenes of True Legacy, where they are diligently working on bringing the iconic Masters of the Universe toy line back to life - but with an awe-inspiring twist.
Imagine the nostalgia of your favorite action figures, but supersized to a whopping 240% of their original dimensions! That's precisely what Matthew and his team are doing, and you won't believe your eyes when you see the results.
Matthew's journey into this remarkable project began with a unique experience featured on Toy Federation's UA-cam channel. He initially purchased the entire Masters of the Universe line off the shelves of Toy Federation, setting the stage for his ambitious endeavor. Those vintage figures became the cornerstone of this grand undertaking, serving as the foundation for the meticulously detailed 3D replicas you'll witness in this video.
As Matthew takes us through the shop, he shares his unwavering commitment to staying true to the original design and colors of these iconic characters. The use of vintage figures was not just a choice but a necessity to capture the essence of Masters of the Universe in its purest form.
The ultimate goal for True Legacy? Building awe-inspiring statues of famous toy lines that ignite a sense of nostalgia in every collector's heart. While they set their sights on that grand mission, their current focus is on creating a Masters of the Universe display for the VIP section of Retro-Toy Convention this November. You won't want to miss this sneak peek into what promises to be an unforgettable showcase for all Masters of the Universe fans!
Join us on this incredible journey as we explore the meticulous craftsmanship, dedication, and love for toy culture that define True Legacy Design. Make sure to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell, so you never miss an update from our channel. Get ready to relive the magic of Masters of the Universe like never before!

I am Italian, from Rome and when I was a child MOTU were my favorite toys, because of their design, beautiful artwork on the boxes and the cartoon series. Seeing this project of yours come to life and listening to the motivations that inspired you takes me back in time, when I made Webstor climb the tree we had in the garden, or I made Fisto fight Jitsu and obviously He-Man against Skeletor riding Battlecat and Panthor. I recently rediscovered my passion for MOTU and I'm buying some characters from the Origins line with the various vehicles, and I have to say that it's giving me a lot of satisfaction. I hope to see your project realized with animatronics, perhaps in a gigantic diorama, as if it were a battlefield like in the illustrations of the past. It would be nice to see more videos like this of the works in progress, because they are really interesting to me.

Awesome to see you bringing your vision to life and sharing the love of the art of the series with others. Now when we look at this work, we bring our experience to it; the experience redefines the innocence; knowledge of art marries knowledge of life and our rediscovery of that which we initially had fallen in love with: toy art as our first brush with ART, as a gateway to the way design, and now a look in a figure's eye can appear more specific; you are handing back to people that initial brush with the infinite. "This stuff spoke to us." It IS powerful. These totems trace the loss of innocence, and once that innocence is gone, an elegance has gone missing, so there is power in recapturing those emotions in a deep way.

Oh my goodness! I’m watching this video and all the videos that you’ve posted so far & I tell you my friend I’m beyond happy. The wonderful labor of love that you’re doing with, what I consider to be THE BEST toy line in the universe, He Man & MOTU, is beyond our wildest dreams. You Sir are a genius. If there’s something that I love more than Motu, it’s giant Motu action figures. You are doing a masterful job with these, enhanced and true to the vintage figures look, action figures. I’m in awe with this. What you told our dear friend and my toy collecting mentor Pixel Dan is a testament of how much of a great person you really are. To me as with many kids from the 1980s that played with the iconic MOTU toy line and collect them, this is a time to rejoice. Pixel Dan and you have made it possible for us collectors to get connected with other like minded fellows and really talk about what it is that we love about the toys and which action figure has a sentimental value for us as well as which one we acquired first, with which action figure we started our collections and so on. Thank you so much for what you’re doing to continue making the Motu toy line as popular as it is today as it was 30 plus years ago. MOTU forever! We still have the power!!☺️👍🏻

So you guys have the Mattel license for MOTU?-

    • @TrueLegacyDesign

No. We do not have a license...yet. Which is why these are centerpieces for display only

@@TrueLegacyDesign you could do what other folks are doing and sell the STL's to raise funds to continue. I bought some STL's of Transformer statues that I could print on my resin printer. Obviously we cannot sell them, but I can print them for my son's room. I am looking to get an Anycubic M3 Max. Huge 13.6" build plate and auto-refilling resin tray. I just have a photon now.

Ramen toy vibes, you could call the toyline 'Bosses of the Galaxy'. If they are licensed its cool, otherwise it doesnt sit well with me, everyone needs to pay the piper.

Thankfully we don’t have too much dust in the shop. We get the 3D prints from our printer and do some fine tuning on the sanding. You’ll get to see that process next week!

Would be cool if you guys get a license. I can think of at least three figures I would want to buy. It would be even cooler if they also came with a comic.

I was into the original Star Wars figures, Planet of the Apes figures, the Six Million Dollar Man, the Evel Knievel stunt cycle, Stretch Armstrong, and a few others. The Masters of the Universe came out when I was a little older and wasn't really playing with toys anymore. By then it was BMX bikes and then girls. When MOTU came out all of the Star Wars and GI Joe figures bulked up as well, which most people didn't like. Which is why "The Power of the Force" figure are mocked and have low value these days. It was also when action stars in movies (like Sly and Arnold) were all bulked up.
