What about getting stuck in mud? That empty space between the track and rim will fill up with mud, and gonna have you sucked down pretty good. Were those tyres tested for how they perform while the tractor is stuck?
+Ancalim We tested Mitas PneuTrac in various conditions and in factthey are performing very well in the muddy conditions thanks to the larger footprint. Larger contact area with the ground means lower chance getting stuck in the mud. Self-cleaning properties are good and we didn’t have a problem with mud getting stuck between the track and the rim. It gets off the tyre while it is moving thanks to the centrifugal force and specific shape of the tyre/track. It is quite difficult to describe it in words and as soon as we will have a video proving that we will release it.
Galileo is now independent and will show its tire in FarmProgress 2019 show under CupWheel brand. We will show 710/70CW42 on CLAAS XERION and 12-16.5 on Skid Steer. Going back to the comments I see questions about durability, slops, fuel etc. and will slowly answer all of them
the same way you set the pressure of any tire. but...for standard tire in order to set the right pressure you need to know the actual load on the tire then set it according to the index book while with these tire you can simply judge it by the gap in the sidewall 'V' shape slit
the same way you do with a standard tire, each tire has to be inflated to a pressure according to operation condition, it is the same with Pneutrac (Galileo Wheel) only the range and level of deflection is such that for every given application you will have bigger deflection i.e. bigger footprint and higher draw bar and less soil compaction.
They simulated that weight with 2 500lb weights on the rear lift I still personally wouldn't like these tires we had them on a skis steer and they would get flat spots in them and ride like shit
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that just looks like running around on flat tyres with a slightly different rim profile? Where's the new technology that you are using? If I get stuck I let the air out of the tyres and achieve the same effect.
Anybody else notice that on the tractor pull the standard tyre tractor stays fairly level whilst pulling but the pneutrac is bouncing like a bunny. That's gonna be fun driving that all day with a load on. Yes it would help to weigh it down but not on a heavy straight pull
Considering there wasn't much give over the posts I would estimate around 30psi which is about 12 too much for most tractors as the recommended is 18psi for the rears and usually 24 psi for the fronts and I know from experience on those larger Case tractors makes the tires look like they are half flat when they are properly inflated.
what the hell happens when a 6 furrow plough is lifted! and all that flexing will give a very short life. how will they cope across hilly sloping land .not impressed
jamesfl1968 yeah for sure power hopping. I would guess that it was in a higher gear and that’s why it slowly pulled ahead and causing the power hop as well. Cheers from Arkansas
the closest you will get to a track machine with a tire machine... brilliant I just wonder how many hours you can get with that New tire setup. seems like a lot of flex in the rubber could make premature failure
As for durability - on drum test high load (150% of required ISO test) we gain 300h which is 400% better than the required running time. Our tread wear-out is better by 20% than a premium brand and 40% from a mid market brand.
Look at all that wheel weight you loose by not having a tire you can fill with washer fluid! That's a couple hundred lbs of extra traction. My farm is all hillside, I need that weight to keep my tractor upright.
When they were trying to show which one pulled better, why didn't they just hook both tractors together and let them pull each other? That tells the teil.
What is their weight rating can they be put on your heavy tillage tractor and withstand the weight of the equipment attached. They squat quite a bit with just the tractor. I like the idea compared to say fendt variogrip system with the airlines running everywhere. But there is also no variability. It seems like they went maximum grip while sacrificing load capacity.
as for fuel efficiency - on road: in cursing we measured (by leading OE) 7% more fuel on road when going up gears 10% less fuel so total road fuel consumption depends on specific routing. Off Road full consumption depends on soil in a sandy soil you can expect up to 40% better traction and fuel economy
So I have to say that pneu is the French word for tire. The p is pronounced out loud and the rest is proounced new, not no, so it is P-new, not p-no. Full english translation is tire trac, in French it is pneu trac.
Nope it is a french word that means tire. it is infact pronounced p-new. Not p-no. You are correct in both french and english in regard to pneumonia, however. So for the illness the p is not pronounced. But for a tire the p is pronounced.

This is ridiculous. It's simple and cheaper to let air out of your tyres in boggy areas where you need to increase your footprint and then re-inflate them for harder ground use. Many vehicles, like Russian military vehicles, do it on the move, at the flick of a switch!.

Looks like they finally designed a tire to be run aired down and not destroy itself, much like off-roaders do and good off-road truck tires are designed to do. They are designed to be run slow with lots of sidewall flex. If you run a truck tire aired down at highway speeds long, you will destroy it because of heat caused by all the flex. Put the rims on their widest setting or have weighted rims
Or who really cares. Use whatever you want. 🙄
When they were trying to show which one pulled better, why didn't they just hook both tractors together and let them pull each other? That tells the teil.
so can I just drive around on a flat tire then? it's the same principle
Dalton Phillips That's because that technology only works on lighter vehicles, not heavy ones like the tractor.
Flat tires flex differently, often caving in the middle giving you a less efficient contact patch and placing stresses on the sidewalls.
What is their weight rating can they be put on your heavy tillage tractor and withstand the weight of the equipment attached. They squat quite a bit with just the tractor.
