Kane and Rakim singlehandedly changed Hip Hop forever with a unique flow, wordplay, cadence and overall verbal gymnastics that had never been heard before! Kane deserves to be on Mount “Rapmore”.
The best part of these NPR music concerts is seeing how great Rap can be with real musicians and live music. Much better in my opinion. The Rakim one as amazing

I really just wanted to say decades later he's rapping his lyrics so perfectly one might think he does them every day all this time.. but his influence made me just rhyme lol
I LOVE how rappers who sampled classic instrumentation can get modern musicians to play those beats LIVE with the real thing while they perform. It legitimizes the art of rap because it shows that it can be done at a high level regardless of what is being used to support it musically. Respect to NPR for not treating rap like it's sub-par compared to other genres.

I feel like even if it's just old hits, Kane needs to record a whole album like this. I would defs buy it, this sounds so good and takes his songs and elevates it to a completely other level 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When you look up Greatest of all-time (in Hip-Hop), in the dictionary... Kane's picture with 3 cuts in his eyebrow, with a flattop and Gold dookie chains, is present! Lol... he's untouchable (and a really good dude)!
Just amazing, takes me back to the days of juice crew and the real golden age of hip hop. I'm 52 now and probably too old and white to comment, but rap has lost it's way. Big Daddy Kane & Rakim were both just class acts before Pac n Biggie.
Big Daddy Kane is a true MC! The original meaning of the word is master of ceremonies and their job wasn't to just perform but to keep the audience engaged in between sets of the DJs, and he really takes this into account in his performances. Making sure the audience and the band are all having a good time. Long live BDK!
