I switched mine out to a cheap dollar store cable and now it charges on the front USB. Pretty bad when a dollar store cable works and Sony's own cable doesn't!!
Seems like something Sony should fix, the cable works fine in the back but not in the front, and when you use a different cable on the front it works, so maybe the system was activated to only function that cable in the back for whatever reason
Thank you a lot I just started noticing this today , which made me like wtf so I’m using my Nintendo Swtich charger to charge mine but I’m glad my PS5 chargering station tomorrow
@@lifes2dope yea I just tested that usb charger work in the back mainly then the front like that’s just odd either they have to do a update software on system or the controller now that both have to be updated

I also can’t put my console in rest mode without it shutting all the way down, then I get an error and have to rebuild the database yada yada. Kinda worried I’m going to have to send it to Sony, what r ur thoughts?
Sorry for the late response but, I don’t know I’d send it in to Sony honestly. It sucks being without it for a while, but at least you’ll get the issue resolved.
@@lifes2dope no worries dude. Yeah I contacted Sony and they had me send it in. The turnaround is pretty quick though because it’s supposed to be back today

@@lifes2dope yeah I did the factory reset yesterday it still doesn’t work. But yeah I’ll get a new chord I suppose. I don’t think the USB port itself is broken cause it still charges other things in rest mode like my phone and headphones. Strange
Yes I did but it didn’t work until I did the reset. I recommend check with the different cord first and if it doesn’t work then reset if you want to use that specific port. The usb-c port works also.
I'm not sure if I'm tripping or what but I plugged in my charger to the ps5 all day while playing miles morales and when I check it was still charging and when I unplug it.... it saids that its low battery. It is plugged in and everything and I know this because the battery icon for the controller was going up.
@@lifes2dope controller is charging if i plugged it to a wall (i test it out and a few minutes got me one bar) for some reason the ps5 isn't charging the controller even though it said that it is.

I’m having the same issue, find out that the USB ports on the back of the system work. Hopefully they can fix this soon
None of mine work
When the Dualsense is at full battery it will blink orange and will continue to charge but when it is at 2 or 1 bar it will light up orange

You can also use your phone adapter with the ps5 USB cord. That works also .

I got the cord from an apple store. I didn’t get any accessories but I was looking in getting the dock and headphones.

No link really any USB-C to USB should work. I got mine in store at an apple store.
