  • If you are looking for Unique Places in Budapest, which are not listed on tourist maps, then in this video we show you a unique Hidden Gem area thats worth a visit if you want to see things off the beaten path.
    There is an Unknown part of Budapest which is doesn't get the attention it deserves: The Villa District between Ajtósi Dürer sor and Thököly út! Officially it's not known as Villa District in Budapest, so that also kinda shows how unknown this place really is. However there are a ton of stories to make this area stand out!
    The Villa area is located in the 14th District, also known as Zugló. It is a real in-between compared to the busy downtown and the laid back outer city districts. In older times many famous Hungarians lived in these areas, and a lot of successful businessmen built their homes here. Today in this small part you can visit many historic buildings and some of them are kept in really good shape! Most of them even have very unique stories, like one that has a Lion statue that was part of a trial, or a building that looks like a castle and doesnt really fit with all the other buildings.
    It is a really chill and cool place, so if you want to visit an off the beaten path area on your trip to Budapest, this is quite a nice place to hang out. There are also some new restaurant popping up, and we visited one of them:
    Szaletly - g.page/szaletly?share
    We really enjoyed our food here and the service was also very kind and nice. Good to see you can get excellent restaurant experience further away from the inner city.
    For this video I had to make some research, and thanks to some hungarian websites I managed to learn about the area and it's unique stories:

    Thank you very much for all your videos about Budapest. They helped me a lot to plan our short trip. Budapest is beautiful and has so many interesting places! We plan to visit it also next year - of course, I will watch your videos again!

    Really interesting video about Budapest, I remember visiting Budapest before the tourists arrived and seeing the real Hungary. It is nice that the historic buildings are being preserved and restored now under the national hauszmann program, I really hope that the palace of Justice beside the Parliament will be restored back to it's former glory once again too. :)

    you are hilarious, I really enjoyed your video. I was in Budapest in August, I walked back to the centre from Hősök tere on the side streets, I was blown away by all the beautiful buildings. Budapest never fails to surprise me 😍

    Ι was once lost in there. Did not speak any Hungarian,and the people where not willing to help (What a shock,innit). An old lady though,no matter the linguistic barrier, somehow understood where I wanted to go and she walked me there. Lovely lady

    Great tips for a future trip to Budapest. Thx! Was there recently and went to some universities, museums and restaurants where only Hungarians went in. Do you also take people around? You'd be a great guide.

    Actually you were eating in a very historic restaurant that recently changed owner to follow the legacy. Before It was Thokoly restaurant, many times , spot for my family birthday celebrations. I said farewell to the old one in 2017, now I have to welcome the new next time I am at home.🤗

      Yeah I remember the old Thokoly Restaurant, never been to it but passed it with Bus many times. This new place is kinda nice actually, had a cozy vibe and nice staff :)

    Hi there! I’m Brazilian, and I’m going to spend 5 days there in this November. And I’m a WALKER myself! Love to just wonder through the streets, “get lost”, and enjoy the architecture..
    Is it safe to walk trough this area at night? For instance, if I wanted to return at 11pm, and walk all the way from there to the fith.. would that be ok? Thanks! Love your videos! 🤘🏻🙏🏻

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  11 місяців тому +3

      Hey there! This area we show in the video is generally safe. The inner city of Budapest is also generally safe at night. However if you wish to walk from here to the inner city, then perhaps the area around Keleti Railway station should be avoided. It's not terrible, but it's not the best area in the night. Perhaps an alternate walking route (if you are up for the distance) you walk from here to Hősök tere (heroes square) then take Andrássy Avenue and then end up in the fifth district. That is probably the best from Architecture watching perspective. 😊 Hope you'll enjoy your stay!

      @@StuffedCabbageAdventures how kind of you to take your time to answer me, right away. Thank you so much..!
      If I bumb into you in the streets of Budapest, I’ll make sure to invite you to a beer (or two😌) on me. My treat. And if you ever come to Brazil, please, come visit my restaurants! I live in the best part of the country, in the gorgeous city of Florianopolis.
      Cheers!

    How do we get to this district?

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Major buslines like 5 or 7 from the city center run through this area, so its actually quite easy to reach it. We walked there from Keleti Railway station so its also close to there. Basically from Chazar Andras street station you'll be able to see the buildings from this video :)

    this is ever so incredible - grown up people who film themselves whilst shoving food into their eating holes.
    I wonder what the next generation will be up to, accompanying us to the poop place and showing us in full detail what happens there ?
    I would not be surprised.

    are those all private residences? I expect the residents are used to people gawking 😂

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  5 місяців тому +2

      Most of them are residential places, offices, art studios or embassies. But yeah people kinda know it's a unique area, when we shot this video a guy invited us in to check out one of the buildings, but we didn't wanted to show internal spaces, not to make people believe you can just walk in anywhere 😅
