I know this is an older post but as far as shooting rails go, I use foam pipe insulation and I snugly wrap it in a spiral 2-3 layers thick. I have it on stands that have been in place for at least 2 years and have hardly any squirrel damage. I believe the tape being sticky detours them. Hope this helps 🤘🏻
Thanks for the advice, I had seen this advertisement and was trying to figure out if it was worth the effort. Hope you are able to get some good hunting out of it.
We got like 2 hunts out of it. It's still standing, but it's LOUD. The grate is squeaky. I tried laying down a foam pad to soften it. But it still makes noise
It was fairly stable. The legs are pretty wide. The floor did have the slightest squeak though. I ended up laying a rubber mat down on the grating to dampen the squaek
Where did you buy? I couldn't find the option that included the roof kit and floor for less than $699. I did find just the quad pod with no roof kit and floor for $369 at Atwoods. .
Of course that $699 included the 2 chairs (really hard to assemble, very tight fit), roof kit and floor kit. I planned on placing foam mat, that goes together like a puzzle, on the floor and cutting to match. I buy the roof kit separately. I guess I got lucky because i wasn't missing any hardware. I did spend 25 minutes or so organizing all the hardware by size and counting all the nylon washers and nylon nuts.
@@homesteadhero6276 thanks. me and a buddy put it together in my garage last weekend, then carried it into the woods to the site (approx 80 yard walk). it wasn’t too bad getting thru the woods. i figured that would be easier than spreading all those parts and pieces on a tarp on leaves and uneven ground in the woods. highly recommend presorting the nuts/bolts. that alone took almost an hour. what horrible packaging! plus, page 13 of the instructions was missing 🤦♂️
Do you know if you can put another blind on there? I just purchased the quad pod realized it didn’t come with the blind so I’m weighing out if I can get a nicer blind to put on it
I was thinking the same thing. Using the new 270 degree view blinds. I found one on Amazon that is just a little bigger than the platform. Either that or just putting some 1/2 pvc and buying the see through material
@@homesteadhero6276 yeah I agree I’m satisfied for the price. Everything works good and was easy to assemble. I’m not using the chair’s. Might call muddy and try to get the carpet.

Once you put the cover on, the shooting rails are almost useless. This product did not last the test of time
@@homesteadhero6276 you mean the whole stand together or just the rails?
@@ryanwatts2966 the whole stand. Wind bent the support arms 2 years in
@@homesteadhero6276 well I hope mine lasts longer lol..thanks for the feedback though!🤘🏻

Thank you for making this video. How stable was it, please?

So I bought one today 10/11/2024, and a friend told me after that the wind makes the braces loosen. Had to get new ones
My legs straight up bent

Vance Outdoors had a bunch of them
do you recommend assembling on site or can it be moved? seems like a nightmare putting it together in the woods where i'm going to be using it.
In woods. It isn't heavy. But it would be a nightmare to walk it through narrow passage ways. That base is wide.

So you just have the platform? No metal bars to hold the canvas to shape?

I'm sure you could. Mine came with metal rods for the roof. But you could easily not install them and still have structural integrity
Did the quad come with chairs to mount to the floor or no?
Mine did
mine had both chairs included.
Just bought this. Your floor came with?
Mine neither. But, I had some outdoor carpet at the ready.
Yeah. My carpet came with it. Must have been my consolation prize for missing half the hardware lol
@@homesteadhero6276 lmao least I had all the hardware I guess 🤦♂️ I’m putting some foam gym mat material in mine.
@@Darrenbrown09 what do think of it? I think it's steal for the price point
