    Oh! I just finished this one three days ago. It's a good kit. Fiddly landing gear, but then anyone who knows anything about the Wildcat would anticipate that.

      Glad for the warning o. The landing g gear. Definitely will proceed with caution when building that. One love my friend.

    The Wildcat is a amazing aircraft. The way the landing gear looks and the shape of the fuselage are simply fantastic. A legend in the Pacific, and it could take quite a punch. Thanks for the overview!! Cheers and enjoy the kit!!

      This is very true. I was doing some research on this bird and the accounts from both her pilots and the Japanese who faced her. Really an amazing bird. Cheers.

    Thanks for the overview. I think your work and skill are top notch. Although I'm a plastic modeler your work and videos have inspired to give paper models a go. I have one request for when you do an overview such as this - being new to this hobby could you please give us the cost of the kit and where you purchased it from. Thanks!!! Keep up the good work and just so you know I was introduced to your channel by having a video pop up onto my feed so you are getting exposure. God Bless

      You have made my day man! Thank you for the information on you tube sharing my videos. This is a massive! Also thanks for the suggestion about cost and where to purchase it. I will definitely do that going forward. This kit costs under $10 USD. I will post a link to where I purchased it from online. Cheers and one love.

    I am thinking of ordering this one. Was curious to the level of detail but it looks good. Thank you so much for showing this! I did the wak p-38 the one with the open gun bays. Took me five months to build 😂 but it turned out nice. They are indeed affordable kits. Thanks again and 1❤.

    Nice to see one of the Polish card model kit concerns having bi-lingual instructions. Recognition of just how much card modeling has expanded in the West. With plastic kits the increasing levels of detail drive the cost up due to design and engineering. Plus the addition tooling costs.

    To make a curve surfaces you can use the sculptor's ball tool. Sorry, I don't know, how this tool is called properly. It's basically a pen-like pin with a steel balls of different diameter on both ends of it. Sculptors use it to form curves on a clay models, but it also can be used to shape paper and cardboard by press-rolling it with this ball from inner side. There is even a tutorial video on how to use it for paper modeling.
    I bought this tool in a set of "sculptor tools" at Ali dirt cheap. There were a bunch of other useful tools in the set as well.

      Yes! Thank you! you're correct. I do have this tool. Awesome input. Really appreciate it. And also thank you for being here, hoping to get this one done early next year. Cheers and one love.

      I use a dapping tool set for the same purpose. The dapping tool handles are also excellent for rolling cylinders.

      Compound curves are one of the banes of card modeling. Paper just doesn't do compound curves well.
      I have a number of steel ball tools. I used to repair and rebuild industrial centrifuges and machine tools. A never ending supply of steel balls from bearings.😊 For a while l had some about 40mm in diameter. I used them when doing the Humphrey Bogart thing from The Caine Mutiny.

    This is a very good video! I was wondering if you will ever make an F4U Corsair or a Ki-84.

    • @neilpapermodels
      @neilpapermodels  Рік тому

      Definitely! There is one from GPM that I am going to do. A beautiful model for sure, it is the AU-1 corsair. It was developed from the F4U-5. So watch out for that in the future.

      @@neilpapermodels I think that Mr. Halinski and Mr. Dworzecki, who collaborated on coloring his models and does so now for Card Army, may have had a falling out. I can't say for certain -- just something that was hinted at in a FB post somewhere.
