I always admired how she had a really positive and secure sense of self too, like she wasn't willing to just settle for anyone.

When I made my oldest daughter (she was a teenager at the time) watch this movie with me, that scene just cracked her up! She loves this movie! Now my younger daughter is 15, its her turn to watch it with me!
@@sassypants7536 so true. I was babysitting for my sister for her 20th wedding anniversary and she came downstairs all dolled up. Her husband who was waiting for her watching tv slouched on the couch saw her and said, oh? should i grab a shower. She said YES!
You missed the best part about the Calvin Klein dress -- when her dad tells her to get something to cover up with and she comes back with a sheer shirt open over it. XD

Paul Rudd has a big, ol' rotting portrait of himself in an attic somewhere because he himself certainly isn't doing any aging.

Heathers (1988), Clueless (1995) and Mean Girls (2004) were really amazing and iconic films for their decades. I wish Alicia Silverstone and Lindsay Lohan didn't ruin their careers. I love them.
Jawbreaker (1999) was a great film too. Not to mention underrated.
Yes, they are all the quintessential teen girl movies for their respective decades. Winona Ryder fell off the radar for a while, but she bounced back with "Stranger Things"!🙌🌟

I wish Travis's tardy speech was included as an honorable mention. The line where he talks about thanking the ''LA city bus driver for taking a chance on an unknown kid'' always makes me crack up.

@@Vankotimanusvanij It's because it plays against Cher's deepest insecurities. Or, more likely, it is the only part of her that Tai sees as a ''weakness'', and so she hones in on it to feel superior to her. To make Cher feel bad, like Cher just did to her.

The “Monet” line is one of the funniest ever. I don’t know if Amy Heckerling made it up or stole it but it’s priceless.

i love the relationship between cher and josh. they are sooooo good together and i love the way they act towards each other. when cher realizes she’s in love with josh, she doesn’t know how to act around him. but the KISS. omg the kiss was so romantic and cute
The stairwalk scene is my favorite scene from the movie (followed by Josh and Cher’s kiss and the teachers’ wedding’s scene). Her stairwalk, Josh’s look and the following dialogue are unforgettable....and make the scene one the top cult ‘90 classics ones. ❤️

Ugh, as if any other 90's teen movie could rival "Clueless"! Rest in Peace, Brittany Murphy, she was gone well before her time!😥💔
Plus, Dionne's "There goes your social life" line totally went over my head as a kid, it's so hilarious to watch it now knowing what it REALLY means!😂

The first time I ever saw clueless I was 13 and only saw the part where Josh and Cher kissed and the end but I fell in love with the movie and watch it every time I can now

Agreed, it's a shame that Alicia Sliverstone's career never really took off, she was such a funny, charismatic actress.
This was such a delightful movie. It’s not easy to have a light tone and be funny and rather heartwarming. It’s a rare thing and also teens and adults can enjoy

Classic 1990s film rip Brittany Murphy we miss you girl
I'm 70 years young. This is by far my most favorite 1990's film. It's really funny, sarcastic as can be, the characters are somewhat stereotypes but believable, and the dialogue is super rich for a teen, coming of age, comedy. The lines are funny, but the scenarios are what makes it all work. I've seen it about 3 times, so far. A "chick flick?" Definitely, but one a burly guy like me can enjoy, and relate to. "...As if?..."

One of the best things about this movie is how it has ties to parts of HS that aren't just wild parties. The focus on getting a driver's license and wanting better grades is an overlooked bit of the HS experience in movies.
