    John 3:16-21:
    16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

    Terrific vid. Got me really motivated to implement some of your tactics. I'm particularly impressed with the plug in the bottom of the pool idea!! I just need to find a way to channel that water to my plants.

      Great! I have heard of people using the water for their gardens so you’ll have to let us know if that improves the quality if you end up doing that. Thanks for stopping by.

    We use an unused toilet brush to scrub out our water areas. If it's particularly gross we toss just a tiny little bit of bleach in while we scrub and then rinse well.
    You have a lot more patience than me! I just upend the thing, lol.

      So glad it helped you out. Yes the water system is great and still currently use it and also the duck drain for the pool. We are going almost on 2 years for the same duck pool so it’s well worth it for us. Thanks for stopping by!

    Love your homestead and your animal keeping techniques are very good. Please wear a mask while cleaning and mixing feed. Hypersensitive Pneumoniaitis is a serious illness, I became VERY sick because one time, I did not use a mask while cleaning out my chicken coop. Now I always wear one, even when filling feed barrels and feeders.

      Thank you for you comments and for the tip on wearing a mask. I did not realize the complications that were possible with breathing in some of those things. Have a great day!

    Brilliant idea with the computer fans on the rabbit hutches!! I need to get me 4 asap, Alabama weather has been pretty crazy and I can tell my babies hate it.

      Yes Rabbits don’t like the heat. I’ll have to do an update video but have upgraded to a 100w solar panel and able to run 12-14 fans comfortably right now for them and we put frozen juice bottles in with them during hot Kentucky days as well to lay against and that seems to help them as well. Thanks for stopping by.

    That looks like an effective drain system. Have you considered adding a filtration system to your kiddie pool/duck pond so that you don’t have to change the water as frequently?

    • @HomesteadersOnTheHill
      @HomesteadersOnTheHill  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely considered it before but wasn’t sure the price of a good quality pump/filter system that can handle all that muck. Thanks for stopping by!

    We just got ducks in April. They are now outside in a pen. I haven't yet found and easy way to clean the kiddie pool for the ducks and our Sebestapol. I'm gonna see if we can implement this. Our house doesn't reach all the way to the pen so I might have to improvise

    We have tried to make the duck piol drain. Our four ducks bring so much mud and such into the pool that it cligs up and wont drain. Can you give me any suggestions?

    • @HomesteadersOnTheHill
      @HomesteadersOnTheHill  Рік тому

      I’m sorry I do not. We just get in there and spray and pull dirt and sticks out if the drain as needed. You can check out my older morning routine video to see how we typically clean ours. Thanks for stopping by. ua-cam.com/video/p7vqR63-CiY/v-deo.html

    Thanks! Here's what I hope is not a silly question, but how do your ducks get up the steps to the pool? I'm in the process of constructing the base, but I'm unsure of the height of the steps and their ability to climb in.

      I've seen many people use wooden ramps but that didn't work for us. We had a bunch of landscape rocks leftover so i made a semi circle, 2-bricks deep, and then added a step up layer by the pool. Day 2 of having them we stayed back from a distance and sprayed the hose on jet to the pool to make the splashing noise and they came running and jumped in on their own.

    How do you keep the ducks from being taken by hawks? I only have 4 but a hawk almost got mine the other day. Thanks.

    • @HomesteadersOnTheHill
      @HomesteadersOnTheHill  3 роки тому

      Many people put up a canopy netting material to help with that but we’ve been good so far. Our Khaki Campbells don’t have their wings clipped and can somewhat fly over the ground quickly to help with getting away. The one time I witnessed a hawk swoop in, the ducks all ran to the coop and were safe. I believe canopy netting would be the best way to go if you had time and resources.

      Yes they are little 120mm DC fans that I have hooked up to a solar panel system to give the bunnies some air during hot summer days. Here is the link to that video if you’d like to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/NIxyPUaja6I/v-deo.html
