You made me curious, too. so i needed to google for "Nightwish setlist Wembley 2015" and whoam there it is...once again Floor showed her masterclass. Hardly to find any rock singer capable of what she is doing there... P.S It's Tuomas musical suicide to bury all of his negative emotions, attached to "She's my sin" "Wish I didn't feel for you anymore", "Time to never hold our love", who "sang his dreams, his longings" to find his own wife in 2009, who, "by accident" happened to be a classical trained singer. With her and Troy he formed a musical side-project called "Auri" , Tuomas now makes the kind of music, that he initially planned to realize with Nightwish, but didn't due to his former Lady's too powerful voice.
Assembled Coaches ! Now your commentators have rightly told you to remember "We were here", but also note at the end Floor goes to Tuomas' podium and sings "Conquering the darkest places" directly to him, I think I know why because of what came next in the set list which is the very diametric opposite of this song. You'll get there and understand, I'll give you a nudge at the right time !
He composes the music and writes the lyrics. He arranges all the pre-recorded orchestral and choir portions. (London Philharmonic.) Only after the song is completey written, arranged and backing recorded does he present it to the rest of the band members who add in their drum, guitar, bass, flutes, pipes, and of course Floor's vocals. As Floor often says, Tuomas is the "mastermind" of every song. His bandmates have the technical expertise and talent to complete his vision.
If you like to hear more Marko, do the song While Your Lips Are Still Red, the same concert. Marko doing the lead singing, Floor doing the back-up vocals. Very beautiful song! (If you haven’t done that already, I‘ll have to check).
I wish this song got more love…it’s one of my all-time NW favorites. Okay, TBH, the vast majority of NW songs are my favorite. 😂 We were here! NW Army, western NC Battalion
In case you missed it, the two very long soft lines Floor sings right after the solos, she does in one breath each. That's Valkyrie level breath control.
I don't that but even if she took a breath there is a way to do that in a super quick fashion but it is difficult to do right without being noticeable. She never fails on phrasing.
Here's some out of this world breath control, especially starting at 1:32 with a high note that lasts for 16 seconds: Dream Theater - Another Day - ft Gabriela Guncikova - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy.
"It's the beard." lol this made me laugh. You guys are so fun to watch, I love your Nightwish reactions. I've been a fan to Nightwish since I was 15, I'm 39 now!! I'm so blessed to know this band for so long, and I'm so happy to see people enjoying their music. Tuomas is metal mozart
Floor is right, this song just makes you feel good. Wembley 2015 concert. Song is from the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album. WE WERE HERE, remember that when you get to The Greatest Show On Earth. That woodwind that Troy was playing ,is an Irish Low Whistle. Emppu has 'that look' often, lol. He is the band jokester, almost always smiling and having fun. An Alpenglow is the horizontal reddish glow , seen on mountain faces when the sun is just below the horizon. A Jub Jub bird, mentioned in the lyrics, is a fictional dangerous creature ,first seen in the 19th century Lewis Carroll nonsense poems, "Jabberwocky" and "The Hunting of the Snark". Before you get to TGSOE, suggest checking out "Shudder Before the Beautiful" and "Weak Fantasy", both played at Tampere 2015 and here at Wembley. Another fun song, and a good look at Troy: "I Want My Tears Back" at Buenos Aires 2018.
Hey there Coach & Mrs Coach. Yes a great song from a magical group. Emppu always has a cheeky grin and is the practical joker of the group. Watch out when he and Troy get together, they are like 2 school boys looking for trouble. Speaking of Troy, he is often overlooked by many but brings so much to the group. Nice to see Coach seeking ways to improve on his 'annoying' Mrs Coach though I'm sure she has that 'stare' a woman can give to keep him in line. Always great to see you both with your humour and enjoyment of Nightwish. Cheers, Rich
Tuomas: When I was working on "Alpenglow" I realised I'm not guitarist enough to finish the song, so Emppu completed the riff. Notable thing about this song is the long lines after the solo, which Floor sings in very long phrases. One of the great examples of her exemplary breath control. You can find other examples in songs where she sings very long notes and introduces vibrato slowly and increasingly, partway through the note, showing superb vibrato control as well. It is also worth noting that "We were here" first occurs in this song, looking forward to the later track on the album (and indeed the concerts) The Greatest Show on Earth, which also uses this line. I have seen reactors who think the sudden key change is bad - I think it's a masterstroke.
The sudden key change is a wonder to me as it sounds like Floor goes first. Done remembering by heart or is there a hidden synth clue for the key to change to? After all, Tuomas conducts during the concerts as well.
I am very sure that Mr Coach will pick the next banger of Nightwish 🏆 It’s obvious that he is very professional in what he is doing… come on… we are waiting for the next one…
This was the last Nightwish song I learned on any instrument, at least as of right now. I love the guitar line in this one and had to get it under my belt. How the solo rolls into that pipe solo is beautiful, too. In a side note, Tarja, the original singer, posted on Instagram a pic of meeting Bruce Dickinson for the first time. That was awesome to see.
Thanks for sharing your genuine reaction to a song that celebrates life and the moments of joy and sorrow that come with it. The lyrics tell of creating a life that is free, strong and beautiful - a "Walden of their own". Such people overcome any fear and darkness and create beautiful moments in life that help them to become "one with alpenglow". Alpenglow is a natural phenomenon where the sun magically illuminates mountain peaks just before rising or setting, symbolizing the beauty, romance, and passion of life and how people can create something together that is greater than the sum of its parts. The song also speaks to a feeling of contentment and recognition of life's beauty and sweetness, and of finding joy in the journey, no matter what life throws at us.
Marko's voice is incredible! And so versatile! I listened to his solo album just recently for the first time and it's so good, if Mrs. Coach enjoys his voice she might really enjoy that album! It's called Pyre of the Black Heart As for Nightwish, have you listened to Slaying the Dreamer - End of an Era or The Siren - End of an Era already? It's with Marko and Tarja, one of my favourite vocal duos (so happy they're touring together again!) Thank you for the reaction! :)
So much joy in this song. And I agree with Mrs. Coach, this band projects such a feeling of togetherness. If you like Marko, Mrs. Coach, you will probably like the new single he has out, dueting with the first Nightwish singer, Tarja. It's called "Left on Mars" and it is well worth a reaction.
This and _Storytime_ are the two songs that always get me moving! Love it. I have a goal of making an acapella version before I retire, which is a challenge to myself. We'll see how it goes; I've got some skills to learn before it can be possible.
Wiki to the rescue: Alpenglow (from German: Alpenglühen, lit. 'Alps glow'; Italian: enrosadira) is an optical phenomenon that appears as a horizontal reddish glow near the horizon opposite to the Sun when the solar disk is just below the horizon.
Wow Mr. Coach! Don’t forget you have sleep at night? Careful with these words with your wife! We do love your reactions on Nightwish, don’t want to lose you, especially the look on your wife face when you mention the steal. 😂🏴
Great reaction y’all! Every member in this band has that attraction to them and their instruments. The keyboard player is a genius at composing all these songs and great melodies. Floor is the member that just carries this band to the next level. The energy from this band is electrifying. I’ve got to find a way to be able to see them live some day! The saddest part is the loss of Marko. Vocally, he fits this band perfectly, and I don’t see how they overcome his loss. Troy has a nice voice, but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking he has the power vocals that Marko has displayed. Impatiently awaiting the release of new Nightwish music in September!
Oh, I liked that! This song showed her voice to its best effect, because she could clearly be heard over the instruments. Beautiful, easily understood lyrics, and I loved the guitar solo, and the... was it a recorder? Such an original choice of instrument, and it went beautifully with the entire ensemble. 👍
Mrs Coach, if you want to see more of Marco's gentle vibe I have a recommendation. He sang Ava Maria with Floor at Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) in 2019. His smile at the end will melt you. I'm not sure if it is on the General's list but hopefully Coach can get it onto the schedule. I mean, if he's always right he'll just have to 😉
Perfect description of Emppu ... like he'd been in the cookie jar. He's really just one of the nicest humans on the planet in a collection of the very best people. He moves around the stage, checking on everybody as they play. He's also quite the prankster. At the Wacken 2013 show, he unplugged Floor's in-ear monitors as he zipped past her during "I Want My Tears Back" and as he returned to his position, he had to pass her. Her 6'1" stared down his 5'3" like a cat who just cornered the mouse. It's hysterical. I also love his little "bunny-hop" during the breakdown in "Ghost River." He's the most lovable character in music. Also ... Mrs. Coach: Check out "Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) 2019 - Floor Jansen & Marko Hietala - Ave Maria 🎶 Remastered" - it's a Marko and Floor duet, and you will see the most beautiful "brother-sister" relationship they have for each other. Guaranteed, it will bring a tear to your eyes. Another excellent and fun reaction!
Hello from beautiful Greece and thank you for your choice and reaction. I prefer the Mexico version but it's always Nightwish. Be good Mr and Mrs and have a nice summer.
Fun fact: Floor says at the beginning that she feels much better than she did a few hours before. Floor had a bad cold that morning and really shouldn't have performed. But the show was to be recorded and she was pumped full of medication until she could sing halfway decently. The audience provided the rest of the energy she needed. That's why I always say that when Floor is sick you have to send her on stage. She'll come back down healthier.
This one started my NW journey after seeing Floor in a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers in 2019. You Might be interested to check that out too. She sings in multiple languages. Even Spanish! Enjoy your ride!
REO was great back in the day. Roll With The Changes! "Coach is always right"? However, I think Mrs. Coach would rather you not remind us or her. You are such a perfect couple and fun to spend time with on these reactions. Nightwish music just puts a smile on your face and ours as well. They have as much fun performing their music as we do watching and hearing it. Are you familiar with Henry David Thoreau the American naturalist, essayist, poet, and philosopher. A leading transcendentalist, who is best known for his book “Walden, a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings”. This song starts out with Floor explaining how good this song will make us feel. Ironically, this song is really all about encouraging us all to find our bliss and grab what life has to offer. Which leads to the ultimate poetic and metaphoric message in this song. Acceptance of the final stage of life with no regrets, death. We WERE here! You are my path, my home, my star A beautiful tale within the tale And when the dust needs to move on I will tuck us in on a bed of snow Painting white, silencing the valley we built Together we'll sleep devoured by life We were here Roaming on the endless prairie Writing an endless story Building a Walden of our own We were here Grieving the saddened faces Conquering the darkest places Time to rest now and to finish the show And become the music, one with alpenglow
Hi from Finland Coach-couple! Just like Floor says at the beginning. You became happy while listening to this song. So ..Mission incomplished😊.This is very good song for mrs's playlist. Happy for her. And I'd like to thank her appreciation for Marco and his voice. And there is more to come, when you listen to pink floyd cover. Bye now...
Cool stuff! Long time NW fan here. There's something magical with Marko and Floor (harmonics). About Marko, yeah, it's the years of mastering his skills. He's been on the block for long time (from the 80's ..band Tarot etc). Hopefully will be seeing him in about two weeks playing in his original local band (Tarot) here in Kuopio, in Kuopio Rock 2024 🤘
Enoyed your reaction. Another wonderful song celebrating life and encouraging us to live it to the fullest. The chorus is all about living your life, ie. "writing an endless story, Building a Walden of our own" Building a Walden of our own is a reference to their song My Walden which is inspired by Henry David Thoreau's transcendentalist masterpiece Walden. It is a book about his experiences living a simple life in the woods near Walden Pond. In Nightiwsh's My Walden they talk about creating you own paradise in the present, whatever that paradise might be for you. In Alpenglow they use My Walden again as a metaphor for living a full and meaningful life, building your own Walden. Then in a kind of a breakdown these words "You are my path, my home, my star A beautiful tale within the tale And when the dust needs to move on I will tuck us in on a bed of snow Painting white, silencing the valley we built Together we'll sleep devoured by life" Such a beautifully poetic way at looking at our eventual death. A shout out to a partner or friends that make our life worth living, a beautiful tale within the tale of our life. Then describing the silence of death like the quiet of a valley covered in freshly fallen snow. I grew up in northern Vermont and there is nothing like the silence of the woods in winter. All the animals are either hibernating or the birds have migrated south. The snow absorbs the sound waves so you don't get any echoes. It is an erie but beautiful silence. I love the idea that when I die I will sleep in that lovely silence having been devoured by the life I lived and sharing it with those I have loved. Gives me great comfort.
Alpenglow ( A rosy light of the rising or setting sun on the mountain tops ). Walden pretty much means living in the wild amongst nature a book was written on it about living in the woods ).
Floor nails it in her intro to this song, how can you have a bad day when you listen to Nightwish. They are just good ole fashioned FUN. Coach, your interest in keyboards brings you to the shred off between Tuomas and his keys vs Empuu and his lead guitar in "Shudder Before the Beautiful" at Wembley 2015. Mrs, Coach, you're gonna love "Shudder - -" it's one of their absolute best rockers with Marko and Floor killing the vocals. - - again. Once again the lyrics are uplifting and target the magic of life on this beautiful planet.
Thank you for introducing me to another great Nightwish song. Diving deeper into this group with you guys is so much fun! Coach might always be right, but I have a feeling Mrs Coach sometimes helps him so that he doesn't end up being wrong.
Emppus birthday coming up tomorrow, midsummer kid...Tuomas a Christmas kid .. :) the next song on the setlist is The Poet and The Pendulum, one of the most amazing piece of music ever written.
What a great reaction.. But it's about time you listen to Sabaton.. Swedish power metal and their drummer is Floor's husband. They make music about war history as it was, without choosing sides or glorifying. "Bismarck" the official music video is a really good start🤟🇸🇪
Gabriel's list is there as a resource of great links, not as a "must do in order" list so please don't worry about going "off list" as there is no list per se 😉
"We were here", if you do that great song of all time, remember to watch all way down to end. There are two live versions, Wembley and Tampere. If you do Tampere version, do not stop when end credits are shown, watch and listen to it till the end. Then there is another song, very personal to Tuomas, regarding to firing off Tarja, the first singer. I hope you read the back story first before that song.
I think it's time to meet the band that Floor's husband is in. Sabaton. A band from Sweden. Hannes Van Dahl is the drummer and Floor's husband. Check out Bismarck first. They are what I call historical metal. All their songs are about history. Great band and a great rabbit hole to go down!!
I have watched many, many reactions to this performance and you two are the _very first_ to react negatively (though briefly and you didn't mention it) to the sour note that Troy played near the beginning of his low whistle solo. Thank you for noticing that. It really shows that you were listening. Troy's solo here reminds me of a rare and valuable coin, made that may by an imperfection that does not exist in other instances. Troy, as well as the rest of the band, are so good live that we sometimes forget that they are human, not machines. You can see Empuu giving Troy the horn salute after their solo duet is finished. I have often wondered what was going through both their minds at that moment. Was Empuu giving Troy encouragement despite the small mistake? Was he just saying "Yeah, we rocked that". Or something else?
We were probably more taken aback almost instantly after that by the way that instrument integrated into the song. That note did sound off but we didn't know if that was on purpose and honestly just got carried away with the song in general as it is so good. Thanks so much for the insightful comment. They are, indeed, all human and to expect perfection at every moment is unrealistic.
Yeah, once we get settled in our new place (see big news video from yesterday) we'll try to dig deeper into the massive list of suggestions we have waiting for us.
In case you wondered what a "jubjub bird" is..."The Jubjub bird is a dangerous creature mentioned in Lewis Carroll's nonsense poems "Jabberwocky" (1871) "(per Wiki). Tuomas always inserts items form storytelling....
Wembley Arena concert 2015: ua-cam.com/video/N_jgyrlONPc/v-deo.html 1. Shudder Before the Beautiful, 2. Yours Is an Empty Hope, 3. Ever Dream, 4. Storytime, 5. My Walden, 6. While Your Lips Are Still Red 7. Élan, 8. Weak Fantasy (Preceded by a Dawkins' narration), 9. 7 Days to the Wolves, 10. Alpenglow, 11. The Poet and the Pendulum 12. Nemo, 13. I Want My Tears Back, 14. Stargazers, 15. Ghost Love Score, 16. Last Ride of the Day, 17. The Greatest Show on Earth
Mr Coach - seeing as you like a bit of keyboards with your music, if you haven't already seen/reacted to this then I think you are needing a dose of Deep Purple from 1970 - Child In Time (ua-cam.com/video/OorZcOzNcgE/v-deo.html) - the keyboards here (courtesy of Jon Lord - sadly no longer with us) underpin the whole song. And the vocals, guitar, drum and bass aren't bad either......
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 Great Job again
Thank you!
Floor loves this song.
Also remember the "We Were Here" for a future song that will knock your socks off.

That was a perfect analysis of Emppu's smile. I 100% agree.

Did you notice when Emppu walked behind Floor (2:05) he gave a little tug on her hair? 😄🤘
Yes, saw their interaction. It's great to see good chemistry like that in a band.
Another great reaction to my all time favorite band. Keep them rolling!!!
Thank you! Will do!
Alpenglow, yes now I feel better. Nightwish army Chicago, "We Were Here" ❤🤘
Great choice! , Nighwish and Epica always bring everything.... Floor is so amazing in this song,,.Thank you for this amazing reaction!
Thanks for watching!
If you like to hear more Marko, do the song While Your Lips Are Still Red, the same concert. Marko doing the lead singing, Floor doing the back-up vocals. Very beautiful song! (If you haven’t done that already, I‘ll have to check).
We haven't, but it's on our to-do list.
That song is beautiful, and a tear jerker. Amazing to me how much Nightwish music brings tears to my eyes, or just flat out full body goosies

Thanks again and yes, they are having fun with each other on stage (and off stage).
Emppu is the joker of the bunch.

LOL!
Nice reaction again👍 Here with us, men and women are equal, so also in terms of opinion!

"Composer", yes... love it. He's more than a songwriter for sure. BTW, this song is about death or dying near as I can tell.

Thank you so much!
Thanks
Coach must be adding some bravery pills to breakfast pushing the edge on Mrs. Coach 😂😂
LOL...that's been part of the diet since 1987.
Hello from beautiful Greece and thank you for your choice and reaction. I prefer the Mexico version but it's always Nightwish. Be good Mr and Mrs and have a nice summer.
Thank you!
I remembered that she said "Dr. Troy" have medicin what helped her do get better that time ...
@@jroutasula5250 In her Ghost Love Score reaction, she says it was the venue's doctor.
@@Mischnikvideos I think she said Troy comment in some interview or document. Maybe I am wrong.
Hey team ‼️good song ⭐️nice pick coach. You’re always right 😁I’m sure after 37 years you’ve learned just how far to push Mrs coach’s nerves 😂
Yes, this is normal interaction for us, not to worry. LOL
This one started my NW journey after seeing Floor in a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers in 2019. You Might be interested to check that out too. She sings in multiple languages. Even Spanish! Enjoy your ride!
Thanks!
Its a lot of fun sharing Nightwish moments with you two. Keep them coming. All the best for your new move too. 😄👍
Thank you so much 😁
REO was great back in the day.
You are my path, my home, my star
A beautiful tale within the tale
And when the dust needs to move on
I will tuck us in on a bed of snow
Painting white, silencing the valley we built
Together we'll sleep devoured by life
We were here
Roaming on the endless prairie
Writing an endless story
Building a Walden of our own
We were here
Grieving the saddened faces
Conquering the darkest places
Time to rest now and to finish the show
And become the music, one with alpenglow
Great message and a positive sounding song, for sure! And it matches up to the theme of our recent big announcement. Thanks for the comment.
Bye now...
Thanks so much!
I think Mr.Coach likes to try being on top of things but I do think Mrs. Coach is the boss 🤣🤣🤣
LOL!
That's awesome. Have a great time!
Then in a kind of a breakdown these words
"You are my path, my home, my star
A beautiful tale within the tale
And when the dust needs to move on
I will tuck us in on a bed of snow
Painting white, silencing the valley we built
Together we'll sleep devoured by life"
Such a beautifully poetic way at looking at our eventual death.
Great comment. And it aligns greatly with our big announcement yesterday. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment.
Good one.
Good to know. Sounds like a good one.
Thank you for introducing me to another great Nightwish song. Diving deeper into this group with you guys is so much fun!
Coach might always be right, but I have a feeling Mrs Coach sometimes helps him so that he doesn't end up being wrong.
Mrs. Coach is a great wingman and partner. No doubt!
❤❤
nice, thank you
If you haven’t done “Seven Days to the Wolves” (2015 Wembley) yet, I highly recommend it. It’s so freaking good. Nice work coaches, keep em coming!
Thanks. That one is on the channel, and it is definitely a good one.
@@CoachCastTV time to go watch!
Emppus birthday coming up tomorrow, midsummer kid...Tuomas a Christmas kid .. :) the next song on the setlist is The Poet and The Pendulum, one of the most amazing piece of music ever written.
Thank you! Great reaction. Greetings from nwAse Sweden
Thanks for watching!
Ohh, I wrote the previous comments before Mrs. Coach mentioned Marco herself! You are both so funny and sweet...
Thanks so much!
What a great reaction..
But it's about time you listen to Sabaton.. Swedish power metal and their drummer is Floor's husband. They make music about war history as it was, without choosing sides or glorifying.
"Bismarck" the official music video is a really good start🤟🇸🇪
They keep getting mentioned so we'll have to try to get to them when we can.
Thanks, yes we intend to read up first.
The Jubjub bird is a dangerous creature mentioned in Lewis Carroll's nonsense poems ,Jabberwocky.
When you do The Greatest Show On Earth do the Tampere version. Both versions are great but Tampere has a little extra!🤘🎸
The only way to achieve the highest level of annoyance for your better half would be to grow the Marco beard !!
Will keep that in mind in the pursuit of excellence! LOL
🤘😊🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯👍
Remember 'We Were here' you'll find The meaning later 🤘😁👍💙🇫🇮
Floor was right. I am feeling much better now.
🤘🤘👍
At the end Floor seems to be shouting to Tuomas: " Told you I can do that key change" ( at 7:15)
I just hope when you are ready to do The Greatest Show on Earth that it's from Tampere 2015 don't want to give it away as to why either.
❤
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎💙🎶
Please still waiting for Zico spot Mv ft. Jennie reaction 😭🙌
coach ya know Floors husband Hannes plays drums in Sabaton really time for no bullets fly the animated story video
Yeah, once we get settled in our new place (see big news video from yesterday) we'll try to dig deeper into the massive list of suggestions we have waiting for us.
flute solo🤘
Never heard anything quite like it.
👍🤘💞🤩
In case you wondered what a "jubjub bird" is..."The Jubjub bird is a dangerous creature mentioned in Lewis Carroll's nonsense poems "Jabberwocky" (1871) "(per Wiki). Tuomas always inserts items form storytelling....
Very cool. Actually meant to ask and went completely off the rails and forgot. LOL

Thanks very much!
Another of their b list songs. There are still many way better songs to check out.
🇬🇧 Norfolk strapped in finally , 0:36 been on a 13 mile canoe trip 😊 let’s do this .feel good music
