Decided that it was more about the experience and didn't really care about explaining anything. I got my first tattoo at 33 on my calf, and now I have 1.5 sleeves. It's cheaper than therapy, and I like giving my artist a super general idea and seeing what he comes up with (without me seeing beforehand).
I’m worried about getting something and then regretting it because of my aesthetic changing and me wanting something else in replacement of it. For example I want a rib tattoo but I am afraid I will regret getting a butterfly in my later years because I found a new design I much more prefer
You can do cover ups, or maybe choose an aesthetic that always works for you. For example I am drawn to japanese style right now, but I know I have always liked (since my childhood) dark, mysterious witchy styles
i always thought about getting a teeny tiny small tattoo as my first, but then i thought about the same thing you were talking about. if i'm putting myself through this experience, i don't want it to be for 10 minutes. so my first tattoo was on my upper arm, near my shoulder, about like 13cms and i love it. it was easy, fun, and i became friends with the tattoo artist. a win win situation all around :)
Painless or rather unnoticeable compared to my emotional pain. Majoras Mask across the 'top' of my wrists (and some of the back of my hands) so that if I hold up my arms, palms of my hands toward my face and put my wrists together the two halves of the mask meet up and become the full image of the mask.
I've been stressing about my first tattoo for soooo long and this really helped me out! Especially the part about not noticing it as much after the first few weeks so not to worry so much! :)

Of a symbol from a show i grew up with, it was my comfort show growing up through difficult situations and i doubt I would have been where I am today if not for it. Now I'm going to get dinosaurs tattoos because I just think their cool. I feel like I just needed a meaningful one to justify getting it, even tho I didn't need to. I'm just having a difficult time finding a tattoo artist not to far in an illustrator type style.

However, I’m not religious, so I don’t want angel wings or any of that kind of shit. Maybe like a purple rose or interlocked roses with their thorns either twisting around to spell her name or surrounding it? I really want sleeves on both arms, so I want to put it somewhere that will allow for that…
Because you don't want to commit to a big tattoo if you've never experienced the pain before and want to see how well you tolerate it. Obviously. She is right that it's better to go a bit bigger since the first 10 mins is bad anyway but it's obvious why people do it

As an apprentice I was blindfolded and got a tattoo on my foot of two guys holding each other... They were touching each other inappropriate lmao it's one funny tattoo but definitely makes people laugh 😂

My first tattoo was a memorial piece that I designed and it was put on right bicep boy was that ever sore the tattooing process wasn't too bad the healing process was long though😂
Maybe someone knows the answer to my issue...I’ve had my lower leg tattoo for about 3 months now and it still itches for a few days every couple of weeks. I apply a cortisone cream and the itch goes away. No redness, no rash, so signs of infection or allergy aside from the itching. My artist did have a bit of a heavy hand so is it just taking forever to heal or do I have to prepare myself for a lifetime of itching? 🙃

I could never decide what to have when I was , younger so when I got to fifty I had my chest tattooed with a moon 🌙 and planet ,stars , . Everyone warned against chest but it was enjoyable! thing is I didn't want to be a tattoo virgin ,so I let my brother in law have free reign on my fingers !!!
