If it’s so dangerous, why did Labor keep AUKUS? Are nuclear submarines less prone to these health risks? The answer is no. As for costings, that Bowen can keep a straight face even saying the word only proves what an accomplished liar he is.
Bowen, you are already spending millions and millions on renewables that won't be efficient. What's the difference in millions being spent on nuclear which will be more efficient.?
This would be the most BRAINLESS lot of dopes I have ever seen in an Australian parliament in my 74 years. The sooner they get the boot, the better. It can’t come fast enough.

Don't be taken by all of this crap. Lucas Hights in Sydney NSW, has a NUCLEAR REACTOR, It has been operating for the last 60 years and nobody is dying of the crap mention in this article.
Answer the questions, Chris! Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't the taxpayer dollars pay for wind, solar and storage as well? Perhaps I'm wrong and it's actually the money tree around the back of Parliament House. 🤔😏
yes with all the subsidies taxpayers give to prop up his ridiculous renewables only scheme eg $500.000 every year for every wind turbine which only work 2 out of every 5 days
We sure do pay for it. He says it’s privately funded but neglects to mention the massive subsidies paid for by taxpayers to get that investment coming in. No subsidies, there’d be no money to be made and no investment in renewables
The coalition could do an ad on the bird killing machines, wind turbines. Apart from all the destruction of native bushland to locate them and the lump of concrete the size of a house at the base of every one. Who pays to remove that when they are decommissioned? Nuclear is so safe you can build a reactor and put it in a submarine.
I asked the BIng AI about it and found out that Heart Attacks and Stoke may be caused by stress and shift work. (they do shift work at nuclear plants). I also found out that high ELF EMF (not nuclear radiation) is suspected in childhood leukemia. If you live under the high voltage power transmission lines, you may be at higher risk. ARPANSA has a statement about the research on their website.
Our emissions are increasing, and while we are trying to reduce emissions it will not make any difference while China is buying up our cheap coal and burning it. So why don't we reduce some exports and burn it and get cheap reliable electricity.
@danielreed2920 Hahaha, burn coal in what? End of life coal fired power plants? China has implemented more renewable energy projects than all the rest of the world combined! Meanwhile, the NSW state government has agreed to pay Origin Energy up to $450 million over two years if the Eraring plant runs at a loss instead of closing. The Eraring coal power station in Lake Macquarie will remain open until August 2027. It was previously due to close next year, leading to fears NSW would not have a reliable power supply. China is leading the global renewables market and is on track to reach a record-breaking 230 gigawatts (GW) of wind and solar installations this year. China's estimated installation is more than double the number of U.S. and Europe installations combined. China has pushed up its 2025 wind and solar outlook by 43% or 380 GW.
The only scary thing about their campaign is that they’re in power. Worried about wasting hundreds of millions of dollars. How much did the voice cost?
When there is no wind and no sunlight were in trouble. Plus, Labour is happy to collect the taxes on the coal and gas we sell off shore...much more that we would use...that's going into the environment too. It makes sense to have a mix. Use renewables when you can but have a very proven and reliable power supply with coal, gas and nuclear. And, Merry Christmas.
That's why you have battery storage! But the elephant in the room no one is discussing is that renewable energy is already at a stage where coal, gas (or nuclear) power plants are no longer viable or profitable. Who is going to build, run, and maintain power plants making a loss? Especially if renewable energy production reaches 80%? Then power providers, as they are now, will have to request renewable energy is not fed into the electricity grid...😮
@@multioptioned you raise a good point although the resources needed for batteries are costly and damaging to the environment. You cannot say that for nuclear. Where will you store all the waste? What will you use for the vast amounts of water required to run nuclear rectors safely??
South Australia's "Big Battery" can only supply power to 30,000 homes for a few minutes. How many batteries are required and how often do they need replacing ??? I know my cordless tool batteries only last a few years.

Susan Leah’s needs to get across her brief, Peter Dutton said the capital cost of nuclear would be 44% of renewables cost not promising 44% off peoples power bills. The coalition are once again lazy and the energy minister is off the hook again
