Last year I bought my first sewing machine. I got the Ultrafeed LS 1. I took a ribbing from some buddies about buying a sewing machine. I have a garage shop full of woodworking and metalworking tools. Two guys have brought me projects to sew for them. Knowing what I know now I would have got the Fabricator. I still have a lot to learn, but am having fun.
I’m in the same boat! I’m. A woodworker and the past 2 years I’ve been getting into leather craft. I’ve been researching sewing machines and I went with the. Sailrite leatherworker. I feel better knowing that alot of men use sewing machines for leather!!
I literally just clicked order on a Fabricator two minutes ago. A little nervous about the expense but excited too. Hope I don’t regret it and it helps me up my game like I keep thinking it will.
Thank you so much for the video, I just got my Fabricator so Ill be watching all your videos. Im a little intimidated by it coz ive never had an industrial Machine but im sure once I start learning it i will Love it. ❤
I've had my Fabricator for 2 years (& love mine even more now!). I can't believe I have only just found your channel! Thank you for taking the time to make the video's & I hope you get sponsored by #Sailrite.
You're very welcome and I'm glad you found me! I asked but I think my channel needs to be bigger for them to do anything 😞 until then I'll keep selling machines for them for free 🙂
I am in not ready to invest in an industrial machine, but I would like to purchase large cones of thread such as the ones you use in your video. Any suggestions for use on a heavy duty domestic machine? I am hesitant to buy from a supplier that caters to industrial machine users until I know which threads my machine can handle.
I don't as I haven't bought any for mine but you could always go on Sew Whatever on FB and ask there. There are a lot of domestic users there that might be able to help.
Unfortunately I do not, the best thing to do is to save up and maybe even sew to sell for a little bit and raise the money. You could make a post about wanting to save up the money for it on your personal page and make items to sell?
@faithwerksdesigns6197 that's what I've been doing. I've saved up a few hundred. I'll get one eventually. I'm sewing on a vintage Singer 15-91 and she is a great machine. I can sew through 10 layers of vinyl. I'm just having and issue sometimes with skipped stitches and it HATES double sided tape. But, I'll keep her forever even when I get an industrial. I love her.

It happens, I want Sailrite to come out with a cylinder arm lol It would be amazing for what I do now.

Cylinder arm is what i should have bought instead of flatbed machine
Same here. The Ultrafeed has no finesse.
@@ROBTAT2how do you like it?
I love my Fabricator. I would never trade her. I love her!!!!
Still thinking about getting one myself, thanks to your videos.
Just ordered one! Thank you for your video. Its a big investment especially for a side hustle.

You will and you'll NEVER wanna go back lol
The industrials with a table you can take the head out that’s the weight of it. You can definitely get it upstairs if you can make the clearance.
Yep, just get those muscles ready lol

Another difference between Sailrite and the lower end Juki is speed. They’re not even half as fast.
Agreed!
Do you know if the facebook group for the Sailrite Fabricator sewing machines is still active? I can't seem to find it.
I think it's another group now, let me see if I can find it.
Here's one group. facebook.com/groups/3553509934878188

Can this sew leather too?
I believe if you "skive" the edges it can.
Hi Faith! I’ve been trying to find the Facebook group. Any idea if it’s still going and what it’s called or how I join?
Yep, here's a link. facebook.com/groups/3553509934878188 It looks like the old group was archived 😞
Thanks so much! ❤
@@tjwobse you're so welcome!
I want an industrial so bad but cant afford one out right. Do you know of any that take payments or even lawaway?

@@LesleyCanterbury22 just keep saving, it will happen ;-)
Buy a used industrial one. Cost probably between 50 - 300$ in the US
@@johan13135 I've tried looking. I'll eventually find the right one
I buy two of every thread just so I don’t have to thread my Fabricator after every bobbin winding.
I do too! It makes life soooo much easier!
Still thinking about getting one myself, thanks to your videos.
Your very welcome!
