My favorite blu-ray of the year is TDKR. I was totally emersed in the world of Batman. The black bars didn't take me out of it, and the iMax scenes look phenomenal.

My favorite Blu-ray of the year is 'The Dark Knight Rises' because it's the Digibook exclusive from Target. I like Digibooks and 'TDKR' Digibook is the coolest Digibook I've ever seen. I'm so happy to have it in my collection! I also want give honorable mentions to 'Prometheus' for having over seven hours of extras which is insane for a new release and 'Indiana Jones' for being the ultimate definition of the Action/Adventure genre and paving the way for the "Uncharted" games which I love.
Fav. Blu Ray of the year, probably, either Prometheus or TDKR
The aspect ratio never changes in the movie, They keep the black bars in place the entire film.

Your videos have good production quality and you have good commentary. Your channel is great, you deserve a lot more views man.
On a personal note, sad to say action movies ranked way way down this year, the only exception is Dark Knight Rises as recommended within your top 10 2012-movies-only listing. Movies with rich plot steal the show, and my pick- Cloud Atlas. It even outstrips the most anticipated The Hobbit.

After watching the blu-ray I was afraid to take a shower in fear of great white sharks, It still looks good.
I was a big fan of Universal's Classic Monsters Blu set. It's pricey, but if you haven't owned any of the flicks in the collection ("Dracula," "The Wolf Man," etc.) before, it's worth it. These transfers are impeccable -- the films have never looked better.
I agree with you on The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers. Movie-wise, for me, TDKR all the way, but those black bars...
I'm the same way...I "HAVE" to peel the stickers off my Blu-Rays. "Rise of the Apes" has one of coolest covers and their was like 3 Wal-Mart stickers on it. Point is my Blu-Rays are sticker free.

I Agree Brave was perfect on blu-ray,I made up a rule to only include one fully CGI movie in my top 10 list and TinTin beat it out.
How come on the M:I-4 blu-ray they didn't preserve the IMAX aspect ratio like on The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises blu-rays?

I know you probably didn't wanna bother with seeing it, but the Total Recall remake with Colin Farrell looks phenomenal on blu-ray
Plasmas can go up to 1080p. And they are 600Hz so action is unbelievably smooth.
Titanic and Ghost Protocol were great Blu-Rays. I am going to buy the Prometheus Blu-Ray soon
I prefer the Target exclusive of the Dark Knight Rises, THAT SHITS GOT A COMIC BOOK RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CASE!

because The Avengers is entirely in 1:78 aspect ratio, which takes up the whole screen. TDKR's imax footage is in 1:78 aspect ratio (whole screen), but non-imax footage is in 2:40 aspect ratio (black bars).
The Titantic review clip make me laugh out loud.
It has the same discs, but the case is shaped like a book and has a comic version of the opening scene inside.

I have only 6 , 4 and 1 from this list in my collection from 2012. My top blu-ray of 2012 is Titanic. The PQ is the most pristine I have ever seen.. While the audio? I sank with the ship too...
my favorite blu ray of the year is Resident Evil: Damnation, really enjoy it, specially the Tyrant 013 who has a primary t-virus infection, really huge guy looks so epic when he stars smashing everything on his path. lol

Loved the Titanic reference.
I did as well, FIFAFever. I love it when guys can comfortably admit that they like or love that film. It's not just a "chick flick," and it blew many people away, including me, whether it was the love story and/or special effects. The film also made me cry.
As for Jack getting paid ten cents... Well, ten cents wasn't as cheap back then as it is now.
Very agreeable with your list, but Prometheus is my favorite blu-ray of the year and my favorite movie of the year

On the M:I-Ghost Protocol thing "why didn't they just use a helicopter?" that's because the only things they had available were what they had in the train. MI6 was shut down, they only had a few gadgets. Sorry to sound like a smart ass and all, just saying...

Ghost protocol means that they are all disavowed sp they can't call in for a helicopter and also they didn't plan on climbing the building they realized they had to once they arrived that they cant hack system and have to override it manually, so where are they gonna rent a helicopter in the middle of Dubai within half an hour...
