Y’all are great!!! I loved this reaction to my all time favorite SRV❤. I subbed hoping you will continue to react to him. Try Tin Pan Alley live with Johnny Copeland in Montreux 1985. It is amazing!!!
Not only did he switch guitars in the middle of the song flawlessly because the first one was malfunctioning, and played behind his back, but he played with his teeth (and broke a tooth!) without missing a beat! SRV is truly one of the greatest blues/rock players of all time.
The song is about his friend that built that guitar for him and had sense passed away. SRV always uses this guitar on this song. Started the song before he changed so signaled to change. It is the tone and sentient for the whole song! SRV is the GOAT!! Miss him GREATLY!!
I find it interesting that SRV thanked Charlie after he acknowledged he broke a tooth. Im wondering if Charlie told SRV that if he kept playing the guitar with his teeth he'd lose a tooth...And then in a tribute to Charlie he in fact lost a tooth. Just musings but....hmmmmm
The best! I saw a lot of the greats, Clapton, Johnny Winter, Leslie West, and even Carlos Montoya, and Stevie was the best, by far. Stevie Ray makes me proud to be American, and proud to be a human.
Great reaction y’all! My mother in law went to school with him (2 years older) in south Oak Cliff area of Dallas. SRV was a blues man at heart but also liked southern rock and he developed what’s known as “Texas Blues.” He and BB King were close friends. He originally wanted to play drums but his older brother encouraged him to play guitar 🎸 so he started at age 7. He had huge and very strong hands.. he played with 13 gauge strings (huge and insane) but still managed to break them occasionally. He played so much that he developed calloused fingertips and would play till they tore off.. to which he’d grab the callous and superglue them back onto the finger(s). He was called the greatest by BB King, Clapton, Hendrix and his brother Jimmy (all of which Stevie would say he thought they were better than him). A humble man. This song was for his friend Charlie. Please please; you’ve not already, please react to Texas Flood, live at El Mocambo. It’s next level. RIP Stevie🙏🏻✝️👑
Great reaction guys👏🙌. This man will hit you in the feels every time💙🎸🎶‼️. This was created by Stevie after the sudden passing of his great friend and Dallas TX guitar shop owner so this was such an emotional song for him. This was the finale at this concert. You remarked about him not losing composure in the beginning when someone was adjusting something. What can be easily missed is that was a guitar switch! He started with a brown guitar that he tried tuning right away and they brought him that white guitar and switched out. So even more impressive than you thought. That white guitar was actually built out of spare parts by his friend Charley that the song is about. For another very impressive guitar switch out watch "Look at Little Sister" from Austin City Limits 1989🎸🤯‼️. This time the camera is pulled back so you can see the switch from the beginning. He and his crew had a lot of practice because Stevie broke a lot of those very thick strings of his. So after the switch he bent down to adjust his foot pedals (no dropped pick) and then went to adjust the amps for this new guitar. Yes multi-tasking indeed! And yes he was not only one of the very top guitars of his time but all time. He is still considered the best to ever do it 🎸🎶💙💯
Broke a string on red guitar, tech guy switched a new white guitar, while he was playing...never missed a lick...at end SRV played with teeth ( tribute to Hendrix) but broke a tooth, looks side stage , mouths " broke a tooth" grins , and says I'm ok..and finished. ❤
Lucky enough to see him Live back in 84,still have the concert Tshirt and the ticket stub.... By far one of the best shows I have ever seen. 5 encores.....
The song "Life Without You" was written by Stevie (and I think Doyle Bramhill) in dedication to guitar shop owner and friend Charley Wirz who had passed away. The white guitar Stevie switched to was made for him by Charley and Stevie who named his guitars named this one Charley.
Your reaction is so real, so informed and genuine. It’s one of the best out there. Have you checked out “Cold Shot” or “Couldn’tStand the Weather” from this same concert? Live at the Capitol Theatre is one of the great SRV & DT concerts of all time. Also, try “Voodoo Child” from Live in Japan 1985! ❤️🔥
At 1:40 he gives the signal. a string has broken. 1:45 he is giving a confirmation nod to the crew; "Yes we need a switch!" 1:54 Hands them his guitar. While another dude puts a new one infront of him. 2:04 The one guy finis attaching the shoulder strap whule SRV starts playing. Everything planned and done just below/out of frame without anything can be heard or seen. Magic! Bonus info: at 12:10 when he is playing with his teeth he actually breaks a tooth that goes flying into the crowd! in the moments after you can see him mouthing the words " I LOFT A TOOF" (I lost a tooth. lol) to the backstage crowd. and then he is actually looking around for it! Without missing a beat!
Note how he goes from the Red to white guitar (after he breaks a string) seamlessly. The camera closes in on him so you can only see the headstocks switch.
It has gotten to a point where, as soon as I hear the first note, I start to tear up. SRV was such a kind soul. I have heard that what Stevie was referring to in his "talk" was the suffering of Apartheid in South Africa.
Unfortunately, you heard wrong. He was referring to what had happened to a few friends "in another part of the country, down south." People don't hear him correctly and just assume he said "in the mother country" and then falsely relate that to South Africa.
His E string on the bottom was bad. He tried to adjust it but it was flat so looked over to switch guitars. He played hard on the E string and liked thin strings. To change a string is a pain so he just switched guitars. There are many videos of him doing this. He did it when I saw him live in 1988.
He used his theeth. He chipped his tooth in tge process. If ya'll really wanna see what he can do with his guitar check out live Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Festival 3rd Stone from the Sun. MIND BLOWER. YA'LL BEEN WARNED.❤❤
... what you failed to notice is that he just changed to a new guitar about 2 minutes into the song. I swear. Check it out, when he begins this song, he's playing a dark brown guitar and then suddenly he's now playing his White guitar, called "Charlie," which was his friends name that passed away and who he wrote this song for. There's a lot more things going on here too, but I'll let you figure all of it out, for yourselves. Cheers...
At 12:10 he stopped playing with his teeth because he ripped one out. There is a shot of him showing it to someone with a big grin a little later. The speach in the middle was about aparthied in South Africa. Nelson Mandela was in prison at the time.
Pretty sure he broke a string during this performance. I've seen him break strings before and switch guitars with no promlem at all and keep on going. EPIC.
He didn’t use his tong, he used his teeth, and he lost one. If you watch he talks to his Tech to pick it up! Ya gotta watch better! The GOAT OF GOATS!🤠😎😏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 He changed his guitar, a string burst!
Pardon how I say this, but y'all don't know shit 'till ma man do this! an it's called 'Texas Flood" the booya of evaya ya ya of all, there ain't no continent in between, y'all, it's the mean, and the deepest of every feeling, ever, ever!
First time i watched your channel, I like your reaction, but, he just mimicked the god of gods of guitar JIMI HENDRIX, when he played with the teeth😂HENDRIX, was playing complete solos like that, and he played with the teeth to create a special sound....Not to play like in a circus like Steve😂I like Steve, and that song, but, before being so excited, please, watch other guitarists, bands, genres😂Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, from Led Zeppelin, are 1 million times better😂Listen to the betters and at the end, make your choice😂Peace from France ✌️
Y’all are great!!! I loved this reaction to my all time favorite SRV❤. I subbed hoping you will continue to react to him. Try Tin Pan Alley live with Johnny Copeland in Montreux 1985. It is amazing!!!
Yes Connie I totally agree‼️. Great reactors and great suggestion for the next one🎶💙🎸🎶💙

True true 😅

Go listen to Shawn Lane. Then come back and see if you can still make that statement.
I stand by my previous statement
He is and still to this day Thee Best Guitar Player on the Face of the Planet. ❤❤❤❤ My Sweet Brother. ❤❤❤❤
He will always be the goat!! Srv is unmatched. Great reaction and must love 🙏
BEST GUITAR PLAYER OF ANY TIME

He could definitely walk and chew gum at the same time.😁
He changed to a different guitar in the middle of singing. Flawlessly.

Your comment about those people … He changed guitars in the middle of the song and no one noticed. Nice reaction. God Bless.
Nothing to be said. Period..... Goat. ❤❤❤❤❤ RIP!

Loved y’all’s reaction. Your faces told the story.
He" is" arguably known to be one of the best 5 guitar players of all time, including now/
This, along with David Gilmore's solo in Confortably Numb are the two best in rock history IMO.
SRV = THE G.O.A.T.

We actually played this at my mother’s funeral. That’s when I finally lost it.
You did not notice that he changed his guitar, the brown for the white one, all while playing the song without a skip.
Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas Flood live at El Macambo. Check out 3rd Stone from the Sun live at the Festival. Mind Blower. Ya'll been Warned. ❤❤
look again at the beginning. he changed guitars during the first minute of the song
he started with an orange guitar. and switched to the white one
I cannot believe he is gone ?!
At 12:10 he stopped playing with his teeth because he ripped one out. There is a shot of him showing it to someone with a big grin a little later.

No he changed guitars from RED TO WHITE 🎸💯 He never missed a beat.😊

I never saw this version
1:35 (magically) turn a brown guitar into a white one without missing a beat
Texas Flood at the el mocambo you need to see he is the GOAT RIP
He swiched guitars. ❤❤
Very few people noticed Stevie changed from the burnt auburn guitar to the white guitar.
Probably broke a string. Stevie was rough on his strings, even with the heavy gauge he used.
He chipped his tooth. ❤❤
and yes he changed the guitar
I be damn if i watch anymore ads on UA-cam
Why the hell did she cut it off right there😮. Dang im never coming back over here. Thats was so disrespectful 😢
I’m so sorry about that. I promise we won’t cut it again. Specially for you ❤️
My guitar is broken bro I have a hard time trying to play it

Whenever SRV performed he kept numerous guitar picks on the floor because his hands sweated alot. He is just getting dry picks off the floor
Are u sure he wasn't adjusting his FX box.i noticed a lot of amp adjusting going on . Cool tune .
He didn't use his tongue; he used his teeth.
Damn that’s mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯
He awotched guitars.
I like it all - the fake gender propaganda not so much. Peace to you and keep watching real actual music. God bless you!
He broke a string. They switched guitars.
These two are the only reactors, or anybody, that noticed SRV's rare mistake at around 7:55. Plays a riff cringy out of key.
I saw a documentary a long long time ago he actually lived in a dumpster for a while because he had to leave home young because his father was abusive
He lost his tooth!!!!
Stevie Ray Vaughan copied every one of Jimi hendrix's moves
True...both Stevie and his brother Jimmie were big admirers of Jimi.
Show me a better guitarist…
