Vivier is totally new to me, love the unnecessarily precise lengths for all the held notes, and the willingness to really commit to exploring fully these unconventional textures.
The narration at the beginning sounds like the same person who narrated the first recording of La Journée de L'Existence by Ivan Wyschnegradsky. Also those artificial harmonics in synch with the narration are so neat! Almost though it was an electronic effect
goddamn it's been a while since i've listened to vivier and he still hits. pls do siddhartha soon - i've been learning abt the novel lately and got stoked that there's piece inspired by it
The tenor soloist is giving massive cartoon villain vibes and I love him for that.
Claude Vivier, Claude Samuel, Boulez, Messiaen, Akira Tamba ... le Paris du début des années 80 ...Vous me rappelez ma jeunesse ...

I still haven't met a Claude Vivier piece that didn't hook me in the first few measures. Such good stuff.
I've gotten pretty addicted to listening to this piece as of late. It's definitely hooked me as well
@@Cmaj7Do you know his Journal? I highly recommend it. Is there any chance you could make a score video of it?
Fuck I wish I could write like Vivier: timeless, anti-contrapuntal, timbral, spectral, overwhelming, cinematic EVERYTHING.
I'm loving this channel! Everytime I click on a piece, I hear something new and awesome
this is a huge contribution - thanks for your efforts!

Amazing piece as always. What is that ending segment?

Ligeti was not exaggerating when he proclaimed him a genius.
Whoa...
Neat midpoint between Messiaen and Haas.
musik fur das ende
Vivier’s imaginary language is just what French sounds like to me
