Hi! I am a HPSP Army recipient 2 months in and trying to figure out contacts but my question is do you know what rank we will be after graduation? 1LT or CPT?
@@michaelestrada9830 After graduation you will be a CPT / O3. While you're in CRNA school you are technically a 2nd LT / O1 receiving your stipend / BHA under that rank.
Do you know about USAGPAN? Pay and benefits are much nicer, but it's a 5-year. commitment. Rather than $2,500/mo, it's full-time AD officer pay and benefits while school is 100% paid for. The time in school also qualifies as retirement years unlike HPSP.
Hey so I did some research and it says you will be required to sign an active-duty service obligation for the entire length of the program, followed by an additional 5-year service commitment after graduation. Do you know if you have to take the program with them or can you go to your school of choice then do your service when you graduate
@@dayz.withbriyaa6484 I'm assuming you have to take it with them. I could be wrong. The school was at one time #1 in the nation, I believe it is still in the top ten. The first year has to be in Texas, the second and third years are offered in multiple locations including Hawaii
Very informative video thank you very much! Could you please make a video in which you breakdown the difference between STRAP and HPSP for RRNA? That would be very resourceful too for aspiring CRNA who wants to work with the military
1) I would say get an ICU job and a high-quality learning hospital. 2) Start shadowing CRNA in the profession 3) Call your Air Force officer, healthcare, professional recruiter, and start a relationship with them 4) Reach out to any military personnel you know who could connect you with a CRNA, who is in the military (I’m thinking via LinkedIn would be the best strategy)
Great question! To my knowledge you are eligible for a $200,000 sign on bonus if you direct commission as a CRNA in the Air Force, but don't quote me on that. That is a great video subject idea! I will do some research and make a video talking about that subject!
Tripper is where you will go in Texas, it’s the only level 1 hospital in the military
Hey, I am an Air Force HPSP recipient soon entering 2nd year of CRNA school.

Does the air force have a crna program?
@@zimmyb6153did you watch the video?
@@zimmyb6153You can't be fat and join the military. So work on that first.

Thank you so much for this video it was very helpful! I am currently in the process of applying to this scholarship🎉
Good luck! Definitely a great deal

Where can I find more information about this?
That seems like a solid program! One of the reasons I didn't pursue that route is because it required taking the GRE when I was looking into it.
@NewNurseGuidebook GRE definitely sucks. I purchased Magoosh and spent a dedicated 5 months learning the material.

As much as I would love to do this the fact that the government would own me makes me want to cry
what do you suggest I should do now as a senior BSN student to help prepare as a good applicant for this scholarship? Thanks for the video !

What about joining after CRNA school? Will they still re imburse your loans?
