    If you watch tom long enough . You know he has a great ability to read the warter and knows how to make spot adjustments to get himself on fish. I can tell he takes alot of mental notes of when and we're he catches fish at different times of the year. Probably one of the best tips he could tell you. Good footage tom! Enjoy those catfish.

    Another good day of fishing that light color catfish looks cold . 🥶Notice Tom you caught them all on the same pole, funny how that works sometimes, I bleed all my fish also , I use a small hand held pruning shear. Thanks for taking us catfishing with you

    Thanks for the vid Tom. Now my day will suck from this point on. Gotta crawl under my kitchen sink and find out where the leak is.

    Outstanding!! Always enjoy the way you showcase the fish, especially the unique aspects. I like that you are including water temp. Thanks for another vid and your candor.

    Have you ever done an overnighter for catfish? There’s nothing like getting a rod slammed at 2 in the morning after waiting a few hours in the dark.

      I don't do much night fishing, it interferes with my beauty sleep. 😁

    Nice cats! Haven't done it in awhile, but I used to always fish at least one catfish rod while I was carping. On slow days, it usually kept things interesting. I'd catch bluegills and cut them up into chunks for catfish bait. Same rig as yours, except I use 4/0 circle hooks. Where I live we have more white cats than any other kind, with the occasional channel or bullhead (and sometimes even blues) thown in for good measure. Of course, as you well know, catching catfish is inevitable when fishing for carp, and I don't mind the extra action they provide, especially when they are big! All my biggest catfish have come while targeting carp (15 lb. channel cat, 22 lb. blue, and many 3-4 lb. whites).

      I think I've seen you catch some of those white cats on your videos, a species we don't have here. You're right, some my biggest catfish have also come when carp fishing. Thanks Joe.

    Tom you need more line on your reels.

    One more thing Tom, have you ever try to float the bait off the bottom like a Santee Rig, I have try it a few times but never very much luck with it. Thanks

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  10 місяців тому +1

      I rarely use a santee rig. It's intended for use in current or pulled behind a boat, and I rarely fish that way.

      I agree, I only fish from the bank and gave up using them. @@OutsidewithTom

    Hey Tom, do you have any tips on how to not gut hook bullheads when you aren't bobber fishing? I've tried circle hooks and bigger hooks but they always seem to gut hook themselves without me noticing a subtle bite. Love your videos!

      Maybe try a jig head instead of a regular hook, or maybe try Kahle hooks.

    Those Rod holders your using are they better then the spring stand up kind? What’s your opinion?

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  10 місяців тому +1

      I like aluminum bank sticks because they're light and fit in my tackle bag. Those spring things are heavy and bulky by comparison.
