- My day didn't go as well as planned! Firstly my train from Chester was half an hour late, so I missed the arrival of the railtour and secondly, it turned into a very wet afternoon..
First seen are class 20's D8096 and D8107 ,having arrived at Llandudno with 'The Jolly Slateman 'railtour. Meanwhile on the opposite platform class 37, D6851 'Flopsie' is stabled, having detached ,and followed the charter from LLandudno Junction.
The 20's then reverse out of the station and run round, ready to push back in later.
Finally the 20s leave for Derby, followed shortly by the 37, which will re-join the train at the Junction.

Brilliant stuff! Thank you for sharing! Kind regards 🖐️🙂
Many thanks, glad you liked it.
That twilight lit station looks cozy and atmospheric. Brill video Phil.
Thanks Marie. It was atmospheric, not all that cozy though 😂, and no where to get a hot drink. 😢
Lovely footage 👌
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks, my pleasure to be there👍
Hi Phil yet again another amazing video thank you yours James keep safe :-) :-) :-) :-)
Hi Jamie. Many thanks and you 😀👍
Excellent phil I went for the double steamer on one railtour on that day and I caught both clun castle and duchess of Sutherland
Thanks Scott. Yes, you were lucky
@@philclarke3203 yeah very lucky
Superb Phil.

Nice video, love the evening atmosphere with the semaphores in the background.
Thanks, yes it did look good, despite the weather
Great sounds from the 20s Phil, shame about the rain, cheers .
Thanks Stephen. Yes, especially after a lovely morning.
Klasse video Phil, great sound :)
Thanks Simon. Certainly was 👍
Very nice catch Phil cheers Steve.
Many thanks Steve 😀
Looks cold and wet so thanks for getting out there and sharing footage of three immaculate locos.
My pleasure, well apart from the wet. Well worth it though. 😀
Great coverage Phil with them brill chopper sounds.
Thanks Mike. A great sound. 😀
Is this video being done on a heritage railway, or on a main line railway?
Main line
Great video Phil shame you missed arrival of the tour.Great shots and Sounds.
Thanks Rick. Yes, frustrating when the train from Chester, got later and later 😢
Great video Phil.
Thanks Philip 👍
Good work Phil, nice sound from the 20's and a great start up from the tractor.👍
Thanks David, it was, and I was lucky to be ready and waiting for the tractor start 😀
Nice green choppers what loco is on the front of the train more choppers!!! Nice video clip of these whistling beasts 🥰😍🤩
Thanks Justin. The 20s on the front all the time, apart from when they pushed back out of the station.
In the 60s as a train recorder for British Railways,I barely gave these a second glance. I think they were on the mineral freight, maybe around the Toton Nottingham area. Now they are 'Stars'.
Yes, like many once common place classes of locos, the survivors are greatly admired
Just like the early 1990s when they worked the daily Derby - Llandudno!! Fantastic 👏🏼
It certainly was. Another great rail journey recreated by LSL.
Did the train go up the Conway Valley?
Yes, there is footage on here about it.
Yes it did Alan. The 2 x 20s and 37,, triple headed
Thanks!
Was the 37 part of this railtour I would have liked to have been there to see these green beasts 😍
Yes, it was just detached between Llandudno jn. and Llandudno, as the platform at Llandudno wasn't long enough.
The Class 20 may not be one of my favourite locomotives, but they’re both useful and not unattractive.
Yes, one of the early diesel classes that were a success
D6851 - is she a Class 37 or a Class 40?
Class 37. Class 40 is D200+.
Class 37, both look similar, but the 40 is bigger
I remember seeing 40145 at east lancs railway in Bury Manchester in august 2015 it was in large BR Livery at that time I thought it was a class 37 at first as the class 40s was never in this livery in the British rail days Google it 40145/d145 that confused me at first sight until I seen the number close up as I was passing on the metrolink tram! Good day out at east lancs railway.
@@justinobrien3593 can be confusing from a distance. Always a good day at the ELR 👍
@@philclarke3203 i used to see loads of 40s and class 76s on guide-bridge sidings as a kid in the early 1980s and the sound was awesome when 3 class 40s was chatting away to each other I was only 9 but best days ever for spotting stuff! Now it's boaring unless you go to crewe.
Brilliant footage Phil. Is there anything LSL can't do?! 😁
Apparently they are on the hunt for a pair of 25s, and D1048 Western Lady!
@@railfreightdrivergallagherGBRf wow. Hope they have a successful and quick hunt. 😀
Thanks Callum. I'm sure they are always on the look out for something new. 😀... As mentioned above. 😀😀
