Fair enough it probably doesn't do justice (no pun intended) to the original but it's just two guys jamming whilst respecting the country's legends/their inspirations, judge it for what it is.

I was there and I didn't realise what song it was until Kirk started playing the harmonic riff but once I did, it made me smile. They probably learnt just before the show. Is it good? Not really. How so many people didn't get the vibe of these doodle spots is amazing! It's meant to be a fun not note perfect homage. If you didn't recognize it I might question your credentials as a classic rock fan!

I was mid tier at the other end of the stadium and all we got was a giant mess of noise which could only be actually heard by jamming fingers in ears. I have noted comments on-line from folks in New York making a similar comment late last year about Metallica. I can only guess that their sound engineer needs a hearing test (which he is going to fail)
The sound has been poor at a few of these stad gigs..... Whoever suggested Twickenham in the first place needs shooting not sound engineers. Stupid comment. Twickenham will always be a shit venue for so many reasons
For each country they perform in, they pick up an 'icon' to tribute (in Italy, my country, they covered Vasco Rossi by the way, which in principle would be a nice thing to do, but as James and Lars don't join the crew (systematically) isn't that fun... Weird overall...
If they want to cover it they should’ve had the whole band. James could probably do a really good vocal cover of this song, which would allow Kirk and Rob to focus on playing rather than singing.

If you want to be really picky you might wander why they covered Maiden again since the O2 Arena second night doodle back in Oct 2017 was Phantom of the Opera. Perhaps a better choice might have been Saxon song as they were part of NWOBHM and have been cited as an influence. And we ajpdama know they can do a mean version of Motorcycle Man.
Lars couldn't do it anyway, or would make the drum part sound even more awful than the guitar and bass parts. He would have a stroke if he tried to replicate Clive's drumming…

Any cover band can top this effort. If you need a breather do what rush used to do, take a 20 minute intermission then rock for another 2 hours
