Raiden has a 360° sight, so the only reason he didn't rebuild his left eye and just covered it was to honor Solid Snake, since he too lost his left eye midway through MGS4. The thing is that the game is set on 2018, Big Boss and even Snake are already dead. So by default, Raiden is the greatest soldier alive.
@@jugodemango He is alive at the end of MGS4, but MGR happens four years later. By being old and being exposed to the microwaves and all that happened, it is supossed that Snake died after MGS4

Solid Snake never lost his eye, he has both eyes in the final cutscene, it's Big Boss who did. Plus Raiden does rebuild his eye (*he has both eyes in the final cutscene*), the reason why he has an eyepatch at first is explained by Doktor in one of the codec calls; he did not manage to make one before the surgery so he improvised and built an eyepatch that is covered in small cameras and sends the image directly to Raiden's brain, allowing him to see as if he had both eyes and even enhanced the vision.
2:38 is the best one. The stance, the visor snapping shut, the instrumentals in the OST, the SFX as the camera zooms in quickly on Raiden... all of it come together to form a cool 1.5 seconds or so.

@@NoHiToYou tf that ain't glass that's a metal plate in the concept art it literally shows it as a metal plate to hold his electromagnetic generator you can even see the lights from his generator being active in the red lines around the XIFF bar code thing
I believe it doesn't go onto his mouth, but rather onto his nose. We get a close shot of Monsoon when he activates his magnetic generator on the pillar, basically the visor is covering his nose, while the rest is protected by metal armor that shoots up
I wish there was an option in game to leave the visor on forever without having to download a mod. You have the down direction on the d pad unused so why not make use of it?
Or that it turned on automatically in each combat. because in the cutscenes they imply that it not only serves to see better, it is also for protection
Well during in speed force is hard to see anything, so the visor is enhance vision user, make every thing movement slowdown, and easily seeing in a dark ofcourse.
You missed a part where Raiden opens his visor while falling down after getting shot with a missile during the Sundowner fight.
I love that when redesigning Blade Wolf, Doktor just decided he needed an AR visor for the aesthetic.
