Ive had them all including all the Neo Vents, and at the end of the day the gigantic Tube Rotosphere is unbeatable in my opinion. These, in particular the mki's, just sound SO organic. The closest to an actual Leslie, again just my humble opinion. Of course it just depends on how particular you are, and exactly how YOU hear the effect. Most of the big name others sound really great, but for me there's always just that indescribable "something" that the H and K has that makes that tiny percentage of difference that puts it at the top. Why they discontinued these is hard to fathom, other than maybe the size.
tks for this vid. GuitarWOrld just mentioned the pedal as a must have for 70s sounds and yours is the only decent demonstration i could find. Keep up the good work mate!!
It is. At 8 inches by 8 inches, with a height slightly over three inches, it is pretty big. I've forever been debating replacing it with a Strymon Lex, but both have pros and cons.
Thanks. And yeah, I'd really like to hear the MkII version as it seems you can vary the speed a bit. It's definitely a noisy pedal, but no pedal I've come across yet sounds this real. That said, I've heard real Leslies are also noisy.
I'll never part with my Rotosphere, i like it more than my Leslie . I used to have a Vox Tonelab , it was the first one that looked as long as a skateboard with 2 expression pedals . Kind of wish i still had it .
@funkyjones It's also very heavy. My bandmate Eric just bought a Strymon Lex, so we'll be doing a comparison video soon from our new band's UA-cam account (AndAwayTheyGoMusic).
In the end, when I introduce the Stigtronics Fat Classic. Otherwise it's just the pedal through a 1965 Deluxe Reverb. It can be a pretty dirty pedal when the drive is up, and it tends to sound a bit muddy/dirty when the balance is set toward LF.
Kim Thayall used one of these for Soundgarden shows before poor 'ol Chris Cornell shuffled off. He may still be using it, for all I know. If I had the $ I'd grab a used one, but I don't. So I'll stick with my Tech21 Rotochoir. But this is cool, thx.
Such a great demo!

Nice demo! Just got one from my brother and i didn't really know what it did but thanks to you guys i will be having some fun with it!
Your song in the beginning sounds a lot like Don't Let Me Down by The Beatles
it is
despicabledog I feel like this is a woosh but he said in the beginning that it was one their own songs called “Indiana”

The MKI Rotosphere is soooo good. Love mine and will never part with it.

Aaron Enneking Yeah my Leslie is noisy . probably just as noisy as my MK2 Rotosphere .
best 300 + dollars I spent...the Vox Tonelab ST was also a fantastic investment.

Nice job on the demo guys!!!
Wow thanks for the vid! I was looking to get a leslie cabinet but its way to big and heavy to haul around. This sounds awesome.

You wanna use as much gain as you can tolerate, then adjust volume to unity. No hiss, simple as that.
Using it in the FX loop does also help a lot.
My god...it's HUGE!
BLACKED
Great Demo man
Do they still make this? This sounds gorgeous!

@PhysicalGraffiti10 Will be doing a comparison between this and my bandmate's much smaller, lighter Strymon Lex. Maybe I'll figure it out for that.
great video. Do you know if exist some difference between the rotosphere MKI and the MKII ? both sound the same??? or not?? thank you
Is the rotosphere the only pedal on the chain? Freom where comes the distortion?
You should do the solo to good times bad times seeing as he used a leslie speaker for it. Just sayin
nice, nice, nice.
@funkpolice911 Bought it that way. Looks exactly like the day I bought it used on consignment for a low $160.
you sound like a younger version of gearmanndude :P
Needs a noise gate.
You need a noise gate
That's the rotosphere. As awesome as they are, these units are noisy as hell.
Ever heard of a noise gate?
Didn't know Jonah Hill played guitar.
This would be a great review if the audio wasn't for shit.
duh
too much noise
