I bought one after seeing your video and wow that thing is a cannon. My first double hand is a 7wt 13'6 Dually and i was hooked after that. Then after i got the Aventik 9/10 i was just shocked at the potential in it. Its currently got Cortland #10 725gr long belly spey and i had a heck of a time getting that out. Maybe it was the 20+mph gusts of wind that day, or maybe its me. Just seemed like i was trying to throw a 40 foot of shoestring.
Gonna put on an Equalizer that is currently on a 15ft 10wt Loop. Thats a blast.
Seems like the Aventik wants more than the 725gr Cortland. It shoots skagit like a sniper and i love throwing that into tight tree lined cover here in TX lakes.

I fish this rod my self and it's a bomb !
It handles as tight loop you can make !
And 550-650gr is best window I think.
33-40ft I use the Guideline compact or the 3D who is a killer line!
It do well whit skagit line as well......
Best regards from Scandinavia and Sweden 🇸🇪

I like this rod so much it becomes my favourite rod so good for that price 👌
I got a spare tip also that's amazing to have...
    Quality is good.
Hope more people pick thos rods up and use them....

I do use different ones but Guideline 3D is a good one even Scientific anglers heads do fit well. Depending on what river I fish the Guideline compact 570gr is very good as it very short. If you under 600gr mark it get very snappy and crisp!
As you get up to 650gr it start to flex deeper in the blank. So very personal what we like ! The Guideline 3D+ power taper. They are ready to go as the name says they have triple destiny a very good swinging line.
You should try those. For salmon it's my favourite line is the hover /intermediate/sink2" as it swing at perfect depth! Those lines are made for underhand casting and the most of the weight at the rear section helping to load up the rod.
But they do overhead casting as well....
So give those a try 👍
      Best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪

Most definitely check those lines up 👍
They have a good web page and order from.
How is the support for Guideline in US now ?
Scientific anglers and flyfish Europe have good heads a short model and a longer one !
Those are also good lines and they to have intergrated sinkrate and sink tip first !
Fun hear what you come up whit forward on about this rod...
      Tight lines Tim 👌

@@bjornchristiansson2827what are your favorite 8/9 and 7/8 rods with similar actions?

Agreed that Aventik rods are quite good in general and outstanding for the price point. I have several of their single hand rods and the 11'6" 8/9 that I used this year to swing up some shad in the potomac. Overall the switch/spey action is fast. Like the rod reviewed here it is stiffer than most the full length of the rod. No TFO Deer Creek deep skagit flex here folks. But the rod is powerful. It hucks. Matched nicely with a 575 grain old school Rio iShort and 10' of T-11 the 8/9 was an absolute cannon. It would probably launch a 1/4 oz shad dart let alone your lead eyed rabbit dredger of choice. I suspect that the Aventik spey rods would make excellent coho/chum/king/surf rods. The butt section feels like it could land a marlin. And they seem like they would stand up to abuse.

Okey I'm thinking of get the 11,6' 8/9# rod because it will fit our small rivers whit big salmon!
Thanks for info about that rod 👍

@@bjornchristiansson2827 If you are catching those awesome 20 kilo Scandinavian salmon or you need to fish DEEP then get the 8/9. Otherwise the 11'6" 7/8 would probably allow you fish light flies for summer/fall salmon. These rods are strong. Please note that I purchased my rod directly from the aventik web site, which worked just fine. Best regards from a former PNW/Oregon steelhead fisher that now lives on the U.S. East Coast but is currently in Europe until 10 June for work. Cheers.

      I have have the 12,6' 8/9#
      And 13,7' 9/10#
      And 14,8' 10/11#
So a switch rod whit power is very handy as our salmon get big my biggest is 24,7kg and sea trout over 10kg is happening now and then. Some fish get 15-16kg even.
      Plus add current to that.
Our small rivers hold big fish. I might buy both the 7/8# & 8/9# as those are so good for a decent money....
Thanks for your input much regarded 🙏
