      Beulah Aero head is a great one to start with but if you have a Scandi line you can play with longer overhang and a longer leader to improve your skills

    Tim, you savage. I loved this one, as usual. It's getting cold here in New England too and I want to keep fishing. BTW, good call on Andrew. I've met him a few times and he's helped me as well. Mark

    Heh LSJ - I am a big Andrew fan. I believe his break was when he got married to Nancy, who is also a wonderful caster! I also recommend him for SH fishing on the upper Delaware system. Tom Wood

      This is very easy to cast and it shoots a mile! I’m very happy with it! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks 🙏

    You have to keep experimenting. There's so many non-ideal situations when fishing that you need to adjust your casting very often. Very shallow water, strong current, obstacles, wind. If you know what you're doing and why you can get great casting in any situation.

    I was wondering something! i currently have a nam 13,9 #9 with a Rio gamechanger setup. I Max out at about 120-130 feet at still water, longer on running water, probably because of more tension on the line that loads the rod more consistantly. Im just curious if this is good? And if so, good enough to try myself at comps with 15,1? And, If you had any tips regarding a cheaper comp setup? Been checking around and man, those comp rods is an expensive piece of equipment for just «trying out» comp casting

      130 is a very long cast! You could probably pick up a used comp rod on Spey pages for a few hundred bucks. An older model Bruce and Walker or Carron would be good, Gaelgorce comp line for fishing and casting and your golden

    Tim, you know you are going to have to do a video about your circle pickup right? I see it a lot with Scandi, picking up a full sinking head. It can also help tame the single spey. Why were you doing it, besides trying to stay warm?

    • @LineSpeedJediTimRawlins
      @LineSpeedJediTimRawlins  Рік тому

      I do it mainly because for me its easier than the single spey, It seems a little complicated but it really helps me set the anchor consistently. man though, it was cold!
