Pencil Appreciation - White Labeling
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 чер 2024
- A lot more time was put into this video than I originally had planned it to be, but I thought the message was pretty important. I recently watched another video where someone commented “I found out these were made at the Brutfuner factory…” And it compelled me to create this fun little video. If I can help just one new company out by education…it was all well worth it!

This is a very thoughtful video with a lot of work put into it, and it's so true. There are only so many colored pencil factories in the world, and they are quite capable of creating cores to spec, making them different from competitors even though they may be from the same manufacturer!
Thank you so much for appreciating the effort that goes into these things. I guess I just got tired of hearing so many (Popular) UA-camrs keep saying, I found out it's from the same factory...." As if that means ANYTHING!
So I appreciate your comment!
The effort you put into this is noted and truly appreciated. This is the best video I have seen yet on white labeling.
It's fine to have an opinion on a pencil (or any other product). It's not fine to insist (even if it's in a less direct, passive aggressive way) that other people shouldn't purchase said product or be shamed for doing so if they do.
AMEN! Preach on sister!!!!
Very cool fun and informative video! Enjoyed it a lot 💕
Im glad you liked it Amber! ❣
So should I keep an eye out for Sugah Sticks anytime soon?
Haha wouldn't that be great!
If I win the lotto, you can definitely look for them 😁
The art work of the Kaluuur tin is absolutely cute and goofy. Thank your for all the info, the cuteness and the laugh.
haha that's funny you mention that one. It was originally supposed to be mocking Shuttle Art (not Kalour) but in a goof up, in my notes, I put the wrong image there.....so I am glad it made you laugh haha
Oh this was delightful to watch !! Love ❤
Thanks Kim. Sorry I didnt get it out a century ago when I wanted to get it to you haha
I found a Brutfuner in my new pack of Evazar London pencils. 😅
Hahah boy oh boy, that's a good sigh isn't it 😅
Ahhh that makes so much sense now with pencil brands that are similar or the same as others
Yeah its SO hard trying to tell people to give a new company a chance and in the next breath telling them to be careful for white labeling. But if you got something from this little video, it was worth all the effort!!! 😍
So one question.. How do you figure out what is what and if you already have the same set as the set you're thinking about buying?
Great question!!
That is indeed a great question. And I wish I had a great answer. All I can really recommend is do a little digging and some research. I have seen some very popular youtubers make some comments that were simply.... wrong. This was the driving force behind the creation of this video.
While I don't have a definitive "These are fake and these are real" answer, I am VERY comfortable saying that just because one factory does multiple brands of pencils, does not mean they are all the same.
I will try my best to give the information I know on each of the pencils I talk about 🥰
@@sugahsweetart-tv4ti Thanks Sugah 🥰 Sorry, I didn't get a notification or anything about this reply. I wasn't ignoring you 😂😂
It would be great if there a database or site that would make clear for the consumer these very similar pencil brands. It’s vox populi that Nyoni and Markart are virtually the same pencil, for example.
I'd love to have @sugahsweet do a side by side comparison of these 2 brands. I've been on the fence for a while.
I hear you...and I shall assist 😇
@@valerielboss I got them both...and for you, I shall!
This is why I'm sticking to the big brands from now on, like Faber-Castell, Prismacolor, Derwent, Caran D'ache, and Tombow.
You are definitely safer doing that. It's hard to replicate the big dogs! I just like the enjoyment of trying new brands and types of pencils. I have come across some real diamonds in the rough in my journey down this road... as well as some real bombs haha
But you can't go wrong with a Faber-Castell in my opinion!
Does Uni count?
@@ashmintyrina Uni is owned by Mitsubishi, a Japanese company. They are a quality brand also.
@@heidigeldean2510 I see!
@@ashmintyrina Fun fact. The last two numbers of the UNI watercolor pencils match the last two numbers of the Abrecht Durers... and the colors match as well. The names are sometimes slightly different, sometimes exactly the same..but the colors are the same put side by side. The size and shape are also the same. Only difference is UNI doesn't have as many colors in the line. The really messed up part is I can buy an Albrecht for less. Thank goodness I found that out before I bought a full set of UNI. Now the dry colored pencils don't appear to be Fabers so I'm not sure if they are unique or another white label.
Awesome.
Thank you, Dave! I appreciate ya!
@@sugahsweetart-tv4ti I appreciate the effort you put forward. I received your e-mail. I am not on any social media platforms besides Pinterest, in which I keep a low profile on. I would prefer to chat through mail if when you have the time. I assume your busy and value your time.
