I considered the Subaru Crosstrek, Toyota RAV4/Corolla Cross/C-HR, Lexus UX, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Honda CRV and a few other vehicles. Ultimately, I went with the Mazda CX-30. It just offered more power, premium (near-luxury) quality and safety that I wanted at a much better price point. I've had it for 5000 miles now. It is amazing to drive! I didn't expect to love Mazda as much as I do now!
My wife bought a Mazda CX-30 GT AWD Turbo and it is very nice, perfect size, lots of tech, excellent ride, silly fast and great room for our little family. We have always owned Mazda and I can't see that ever changing for us.
Your videos are so informative and detailed. I love how you explain every knob and button, from beeping the horn and for telling us the ground clearance of the car, which is important when that's a buying issue for some people! So thank you very much!! ❤ Your thoroughness is extraordinary and very much appreciated! 👍👏👏
Hell yes no CVT! And a naturally aspirated 2.5 which is a timing chain engine last I knew - no timing belts, no turbos, normal transmission. Thankfully someone still builds a reliable and affordable nice vehicle. Great job Mazda! You haven’t followed the herd into overpriced/fancy quality disasters!
@@MrBacchus18 Many say turbos dont last as long. Also, the CX30 with turbo has poor economy for its class (and needs premium fuel). No denying it is fast though.
Best and most accurate review. I just leased the base model. It’s great. I was sorry to give up my 2009 Mazda 6 which was still running great after 15 years. Now I’m glad. This car is awesome
Great review. You are the person I found who does a lot of Base models. CX30. Is a great value in base form. I definitely would buy this Cx30. Thanks again
One correction, the base model is only 6 speakers for the sound system. Carbon Editions will give you 8 speakers. The premium and premium plus will give you the 12-speaker Bose setup.
Great review Kenny! In my opinion, Mazda outshines the others with great looks and upscale looking interiors. For the money you are getting a lot. I had a flash of Mazda's Zoom Zoom ads back in the day. Hope you are doing great!
I have a 2023 Crosstrek for a company car. After driving the Mazda the Crosstrek seems like a piece of junk! I would take the Mazda over a Subaru any day!!!!!!
Great thorough review. It’s on my very short list as my inclement weather & city dweller/long commute traveler for a couple of reasons. It’s AWD and it has an automatic👍! Mazda FTW!
Very good review! You've pointed out some of the features in the front of the car that none of the other videos that I've watched have done. Super comprehensive detailing of the Mazda CX-30's pros and cons! Zoom Zoom!!
I actually do appreciate the fact that you are doing reviews on all kinds of cars. I came to find out that there are brands that I would’ve never consider before watching your videos and now are highly rated on my next car wish list.
I think the best value for the CX30 is the 2.5S Select Sport, just 1 trim level above the base model, comes with advanced keyless entry, dual zone A/C, rear air vents, rain sensing auto wipers , leatherette seats for $1505 more.
Thank you very much. This is the video that I really want to watch because everybody else talking about something else not about this car. I will buy one again thank you very much. I really like you video.
Thank you for your awesome video. I currently own a 2016 Kia Soul I will be selling next month due to The Kia Boys Tik Tok challenge. My car was vandalized 4 times by the Kia Boys😢 currently hiding my car until I come up with down-payment, my insurance company may not renew my policy. Absolutely incredibly detailed review of this Mazda. Freakin awesome! You should get paid by every manufacturer and dealer to show their cars! Thanks! Going to Mazda tomorrow!
I have had my CX-30 for a little more than a day and love it. The six-speed automatic with manual mode is definitely a plus. Mazda has the best price to performance ratio out there.
Hey. I just found your channel and subscribed. I love base/lower trim level car reviews just like this one! When all the extras and frills are removed, it's up to the car to show just how good (or bad) it is! Thanks again and looking forward to watching more!
Fantastic review. I test dove the 2024 Sport and Select. The brakes felt like old school drum brakes that need adjusting! So surprised. The first gear at low speed, does a wierd laggy thing. No 12V outlets. Otherwise great value. Please test drive one if anyone is thinking of just ordering and buying one or buying one via an online service. The soft brakes were on both vehicles. Maybe a Mazda thing? Unfortunately it was a deal breaker for me. They look fantastic and I know some people hate the screen situation but I actually liked keeping my arm down and eyes up when scrolling around. Another reason to test drive and physically crawl in it.
Appreciate your thorough knowledge & experience w/ Mazda. Great presentation! THANK YOU THANK YOU for reviewing a base model 😅😅😅. A refreshing rarity for sure. Please compare or do a video on BASE big brother CX-5 . Again, thank you for BASE model info
I was looking for compact suv under 25k with awd and this has all that. I liked the crosstreck but i like this more better styling better speakers more horse power on of my gripes about the crosstreck is the 150 hp slow going engine and boxer engines are not as hardy as others. This has 190 hp without a turbo best in class in my opinion and no cvt which are slow and suck. I also like the styling much better and the knobs i don't like infotainment systems to much to deal with while driving. Thanks for your reviews they are the best.🎉
I was about to buy this suv until I found out that you cannot turn the traction control off, not good when going through deeper snow, come on Mazda, why?????
👍🏻. Nice review Speed. Mazda definitely makes good looking Auto's. What would we drive without the affordable Japanese Blue collar daily's. We would be left with cheap domestic crap or expensive European crap.
We were about to get the Toyota Corolla SE, but checking you video it a Mazda CX-30 now, Yes the Corolla has a CVT trans and researched how bad it was,
I just bought a base cx30 2 weeks ago I had considered a Corolla but they wanted the same out the door price for the base Corolla I figured the cx30 being AWD was much more of a vehicle and I love it
My only reservation is with all wheel drive if one tire goes on you you have to replace all of them. That will cost you anywhere between five to $600. That’s ridiculous.
Went to a Mazda dealership on 4/6/24 to check out a brand new CX-30. Right off the bat the car would not unlock on the driver's side after numerous "clicks". The embarrassed salesman had to go to the rider's side to reach across to open the driver''s door. We instantly ruled this car out because what even if the driver's side wouldn't have opened and with no door key option what would you do???? Reliability at mileage "0" is a major issue. I am afraid to buy any Mazda product.
@@lennylee6528 Agree. But a new car on the lot having issues right off the bat turned us away from Mazda completely. Having quality issues immediately day zero is a very bad signal that Mazda has chose very low reliability components to maximize every possible penny of profit. They use to make a great product back in the 70's but not now.
You're correct, the seat is painfully uncomfortable for me, 6', 250lbs; digs into rump and thighs. Test drove one and was surprised at how much I disliked. The engine is loud and coarse, the transmission shifts oddly, the infotainment is a disaster, a 6' person can't fit in the back, can't tow anything, I did like all the soft touch surfaces though. Bought a Crosstrek. I like how the CVT always instantly and smoothly provides the best ratio for every driving situation.
@@703Speed Your a solid auto journalist, but do you believe the Mazda infotainment system is easy to adopt just image each new driver has to learn that feel and touch if the rotary knob. Just put a Touchscreen in Mazda, ease of use.......
I've used a touchscreen in a Toyota prius prime and hated it. If you have any oil or lotion on your hands, your screen ends up looking like a grimy mess. The other thing that drove me crazy while the car was moving was how if you try to touch a selection and suddenly have to make a maneuver, you end up slipping to another unintended selection. This, for me, was not only irritating but distracting.

If you don’t have people riding in back seat
If you ever have to drive through deeper snow go crosstrek, you cant turn off the traction control on the cx-30

No cvt, no turbo charged, right engine choice + transmission 👌 could take it as daily
