These cars are awesome!!! I have owned a 2020 CX-30 premium non turbo for 4 years and I still thoroughly enjoy driving it. Even driving it slow is enjoyable! I’m an enthusiast so I have modded mine. Upgraded low pressure fuel pump, upgraded spark plugs. Modded stock air box. Got rid of the accordion intake hose for a smooth one and yes it makes a noticeable difference. Low rolling resistance tires. Amsoil oil and yes it does provide more lubricity than oem oil. Highway mpg is 32 to as high as 42 mpg! Am usually on the higher end. City mpg 24 to 38! I also have owned a 2019 Audi S3 which am keeping forever. lol
I have a 2022 Red Premium and absolutely love it. Excellent handling, decent acceleration, fun to drive. This comes with the Bose speaker system and it ROCKS! It also handles excellent in snow with the all time 4 wheel drive. There’s also the enhanced traction control button if you need it. I’ve previously owned other Mazda’s and they always are dependable and last a very long time. Great value too. Highly recommend.
I test drove the CX-5, CX-30 and the 3. I liked how each one of them drove. I ended up with a 3 Hatchback Carbon Edition, very similar to this CX-30. It basically had the best offer of the three vehicles from the dealer (end of the year 2024 model).
I have had my CX-30 for about six months and love it. It is a criminally underrated car. The only real competition in its class is the Subaru Crosstrek but I preferred the CX-30 based on it being more engaging to drive and not having a CVT. The Subaru may be a little better off-road, especially with the Wilderness edition, but I am going to drive the car on the road 95 percent of the time.
Nicely and informative review of the CX30. This is the smallest Mazda that should compete well in its segment. I happen to like the claddding, but the lack of room between the rear seat and the front one is a drawback indeed. Overall, a well put together car.
I have owned a CX30 for 18 Months . It is an impressive and refined car to drive. With a high quality of design and build quality. I would advise that back seat room is very tight for both adults and children in car seats and that this is it's only limitation.

Thanks for sharing this, I’m glad you guys enjoy it! I just filmed and will post soon a 2025 Turbo 30 in Aero Gray Metallic. That spec was awesome. The cladding didn’t even bother me or stand out with that paint color lol.

This car is phenomenal! Ive owned mine for 4 years. Only major drawback is very poor visibility, especially to the sides and rear sides. A,b, and C pillars are enormous!
the matte black cladding looks good! I like it. I have a black cx-30 sport 2024 as a rental right now and I really like it. the gas tank seems small when you fill up at 1/4 tank and it takes 7 gallons. the mpg are good though. if you fold down the seats there is lots of room for a twin memory foam mattress for the dogs to have the entire back seat. shiny cladding will scratch and look shitty. the matte is nice you can buff it out.... it's forgiving.
I've had my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition for 3 years now & have had no issues with it whatsoever (unlike my previous awful 2020 TNGA Toyota) - but I've only driven it for 10K miles total thus far (only drive it twice per week). I personally wouldn't buy a newer one, however, because Mazda added cylinder-deactivation back to the CX-30 non-turbo engine trims with model year 2023+. So, 2022 was the sweet-spot year to purchase the CX-30 in my opinion.
Wish Madza would carry names over like Toyota does, people always buy what they already know Corolla~ Corola Cross, maybe Mazda 3 Cross/ Mazda 30 would have been a nice name But they know what they doing and sells are good Great review i love the interior 🎉
It’s been a while since I’ve driven one. I thought the ones I drove were nice vehicles, and very loaded especially for about 40k when new. I do remember them being 6 seaters though? So in typical Mazda style a bit more cramped than other 3 row crossovers, but nicer materials and more sporty for a similar or cheaper price. Best of luck!!
Thanks! I’m not sure why it was set in KPH. I spent about 40 seconds trying to change it to MPH in the settings and when I couldn’t figure it out I just left it for the video because I thought it was kind of fun haha.
I owned a CX-30 for two days . I loved everything about it but the seats absolutely destroyed my back on my hour and a half commute. I drive a lot so I traded it in immediately. What a shame. Great looking car and fun to drive but I was in agony for days after.
Dang, I’m sorry to hear that! Was it a cloth or leather seat in your example? I just drove a turbo 30 and in my short time with it I really like the seats. But I fully recognize more time with the car can be revealing. My RAV4 was like that when I took it on a short road trip haha. Thanks for watching!
I just noticed something weird on the website when you build the CX 30. When you build the CX 30 carbon edition, it doesn’t list cylinder deactivation. But if you build the CX 30 premium package, it lists cylinder deactivation. talk about confusing!
@ yes, I know that. But when you build the non-turbo versions on the website there’s inconsistent information where all of the trim models for the nonturbo says it has cylinder deactivation, except it leaves it out for the carbon edition non-turbo
Haha yeah, that’s why I’m always so confused on the naturally aspirated Mazda reviews I do. There’s a lot of inconsistency. The 2025 CX-5 showed both on the window sticker (I’m pretty sure) but this CX-30 didn’t, and I didn’t detect it during filming. 🤷♂️🤪
@ and exactly like the carbon edition that you have, They don’t show the cylinder deactivation on that trim for the non-turbo. But the rest of the non-turbo trims they put it in there. It needs to get their act together on their website
Two things...gun slit windows make for poor visibility and a dark, gloomy interior. Also, the rear seat is almost a 2+2...really limited legroom if you're taller than 5 ft. tall or more than 7 years old. The replacement for this needs more glass and at least a couple inches of wheelbase.
a much nicer car than the CX 50 Hybrid. If you are on the fence, get the CX5 and go for the turbo. The CX 50 Hybrid is very uncomfortable, Stiff and the engine is very sluggish. The CX50 Hybrid feels like a rush job! Even the steering wheel is poorly made.
Mazda is definitely coming up unfortunately this vehicle has cylinder deactivation, Direct injection, an electronic parking brake and is made in Mexico no thanks.
Hello there, you say this is the 2024 or even 2025 model ... but I see inside the car has the old 8.8 inch infotainment screen, at least this is how it looks like, ... not the new 2024 models 10.25 inch screen, this is strainge. However I see the mobile phone wireless charger which is one of the features introduced on the 2024 models ... like mine. Here I would like to comment ... this charger is very very bad on how it works ... literally it s not working.... only for a few seconds then it turns off ... after a while again it works for a few seconds and then again it turns of ... the result is the phone does not get any charging at all.
Yeah, this was a 2025. I just filmed but haven’t yet posted a turbo premium and that one seemed to have the larger screen. Thanks for sharing your unfortunate experience with the wireless charger. I use to have an Outback with one and it was equally worthless. 🤪

Continue the good work 👏 In Europe we can only get the 2.0 e-skyactiv x engines with the 186hp ... good ones with good consumption figures as well if the driver is gentle with the wire 😉 I assume the 2.5 turbo should be very powerful. However, the CX-30 model, the 3 hatchback, the CX-5 as well ... all have made their job and need to be replaced soon ... the competition has been very tough and many new models with high end interiors and very sporty modern exterior designs have now the advantage in this marker segment, Mazda has been left behind.

The car looks ugly to me, both on youtube and in person. Small windows, which went out of fashion a long time ago, make the body look too massive. They tried to mask it with side cladding, but it doesn't match the exterior very well imo.
Yup, I get that! I’m probably the most impressed with how this thing drives. It actually feels like a mild sports car suspension set up when changing directions or taking corners compared to the average feel of a CUV. Also having the turbo option actually makes these fairly quick for what they are.
Haha, it might not be the best, but it’s dang good. I’ve driven the Hellcat Durango and Trackhawk, and for half the price a turbo CX-30 is a similarly fun ride, IMO. 🤪
