Damn, good too see a professional still willing to ply their trade to earn their money, need to find someone like that around here. Got my radiator "rodded" in Vegas, and it seems the guy took my money to basically spray it with paint, didn't even clean it out or leak test it properly. I went to install i found a leak at the top tank, took the tank off and found core coated with deposits and tubes still clogged, cleaned that up with acid and found a couple of the tubes leaking at the top header, and now guy in Lake Havasu doesn't even want to do this job, just want to sell me a new core for $1400.

you must first prep the material that needs soldered by using a acid flux and heat this process is called penny or prepping to solder the tubes to the head hurt then he will pass back through with solder and heat so the tubes will properly solder to the header after that you will install the end caps and side of them on pressure test the system painted and if you have a finished product

A lot of solder drip. Maybe more solder on the floor then on the header.

Interesting video. I just bought a new radiator but the side of it is crushed in some (not big but enough to see that its squished in). How much will it cost to repair it and will this dent cause any issues? Seller is offering me an $8 refund.. It seems on the low side to me..

good job, and it didn't take you a week, like a few commenters, that have never even been in a job shop. "hot job...is it ready yet ?! "

Because soldering the headboard upside down soldering diagonally twice is easier less oxygen and gas and less tin I've always made the only headboard that solder like this and big hives ok my guess thanks for your attention.

I own a radiator repair shop, and worked in one for 30 years, and I never seen anyone run a header like this.. No way you can have much profit with the amount of flux and solder that's being wasted.

And all of that unnecessary solder in header plate is going to run straight off when you flip radiator core over to solder on the tanks.. plus I'm 100% positive, that the core will have numerous header leaks, because of all the dirt that was boiled out from around tubes with the heat and the flux.. thanks for sharing, but I certainly hope nobody uses this video as a tutorial.

What kind of flux and solder are you supposed to use?

Man o Man. The haters are out in full force on this video. For some of you, please know and why the flux is used, what it does and why he added the rod to the boiling flux.

Could someone please explain what is happening throughout this video other than a general explanation of "radiator repair"?

The repair man is running the header. that means replacing old solder with new.
the last step is to solder the tank and pressure test
