- An overview of Stuart Hall's 1980 model of mass communication. This is the only theory we'll look at that can be classified under the Cultural Studies approach to media communication.
Thank you for making this! A lot easier to understand than Stuart Halls text.
In my Communications course, the reading by Stuart Hall on encoding and decoding had me totally baffled. This gave me a new perspective on it and I feel I can tackle the reading again. Great video, thanks!
I'm glad you explained the Encoding and Decoding of Broadcast Structures very well. Every other source I've found seemed to ignore that diagram and just talked about the four-staged model of production, circulation, use, and reproduction.
Thank you so much for this video, i cant explain how greatful i am to come across it, its extremly helpful. i am definately passing my exam of sociology of communication, going back to school after 12years in a foreign country and language is like hell for me. Thanks once more
You explain everything so clearly that it seems easy. Thanks a lot for your videos, please keep explaining! :)
Thank you for your video! This helped me a lot to understand the essence of Hall's theory and model. I have a presentation on this topic on Tuesday, so feel more secure now in explaining it to others. Thanks!
Just wanted to thank you for this video! It truly helped me pass my exam.
Thanks a lot for this video, this one is just perfect!
I absolutely love this video! Thank you for being so thorough.
However, I do have a comment to the graphic you show at 13:50-15:30 - in Halls own document, the arrows actually do go from "text" towards "audience" and not the other way around.
Thank you very much. This helps me a lot with my midterm exam.
Thanks so much for simplifying Hall's theory so well! Extremely helpful.
This was super helpful for my media studies! Thanks :)
This video was fantastic thanks for putting the effort in
Excellent explanation! Thank you
Are there any theorists who provide more detailed theories of audience positions? To explain the 1%-99% gap? Thanks for the great video!
Charlie are you monitoring this - I need some help with an Essay and this presentation is fitting. ?
