15 minutes into this and my overactive imagination already made up stories based on all the sounds. And somehow I came to the conclusion that this is in a pov of a cow in a 17th century seaside village. Like at one point it sounds like I'm being peddled in the market, then I'm sent out to graze in a pasture with some sheep or goats. There's also a point where it sounds like I'm being sent home to the barn and being bathed by my owner. It is so fun listening to this and imagining I am this cow.
It reminds me my favourite poem by Czesław Miłosz "Gift". A day so happy. Fog lifted early, I worked in the garden. Hummingbirds were stopping over honeysucle flowers. There was nothing on earth I wanted to possess. I knew no one worth my envying him. Whatever evil I had suffered, I forgot. To think that once I was the same man did not embarrass me. In my body I felt no pain. When straightening up, I saw the blue sea and sails.
I cannot express to you how grateful I am for your beautiful comment, how touched I am by it -- it is, without doubt, one of the best and most meaningful comments I have ever received. The poem you shared here sang itself through me; I felt it with my whole being. I can understand why it is your favorite. I think it has become one of my favorites, too. :)
longing for a simpler life ... no phones, no social media no nonsense just this it’s ironic we need the phone to feel nature 😢but this is absolutely gorgeous thank you
Many thanks to the creator of this video/soundscape! We play a biweekly friends and family DnD game in the world of Mystara, and the party visited the seaside community of Recust, a village just south of the capitol, Specularum, on the bay. A simple fishing and lighthouse - support community. And when I ran into this video, I knew it was the perfect backdrop scene/soundscape to have on in the background. A few days after using it for the game, I actually took a little nap with this on as my background ambience, and it was SO restful. Thank you again, from me and from my group.
People are assholes! We used to have consideration for others!! I grew up across the street from a park/playground. Parents taught their children not to scream because it's annoying and infringees on the peace of others.
My husband and I use to live up,the street from the ocean in Cambria, on the central coast in California. Me growing up in Southern California, I met my husband in Cambria to a cousin’s wedding I almost didn’t go to! Over a year later, after the big wedding, I left my family to live in Cambria with my hubby... we had a beautiful view of the ocean and hearing the waves everyday, I just couldn’t get over how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place. At night, hearing the waves is calming and at first I couldn’t get use to that but it was easy to fall asleep from the soft waves at night.. being that we lived across from the ocean, we didn’t have grass in our front yard, mostly daisies in pink and yellow and different shrubs up against our little home. And being that it’s a small town, there wasn’t any street lights in the town except on the Main Street and on highway 1... that leads to Big Sur. So we could see all the stars so clearly! And being that I’m from the L.A. area, seeing deer every so often just walking past my home, made me excited... I had to call my mom the first time there were a few dewars in my front yard!! Lol... My husband and his parents, owned a few buildings and they owned a really sweet gift shop and my mother-in-law, owned a shop that specialized in knitting, some expensive yarn, and accessories for knitting, and her and her employees would sell their knitting creations. I worked at the Hearst Castle. I miss living there but we moved several years later to central California where most of my family is. I miss the sound of the ocean and seeing bajillion stars in the sky, and deer strolling down our street. If I didn’t go to my cousin’s wedding, the next day after, I wouldn’t have walked into that sweet gift shop and meet my future hubby! It’s just a two hour drive from where we live, so we go there for the day or two since his sister still lives on the coast near Morro Bay. Someday we will move back there. 😁💖
Thank you for sharing that lovely and personal story. I hope you are keeping these things written down for future generations who might be interested because right now you can’t tell who will be. 🇨🇦♥️
I noticed that almost every time you include snippets of human speech, you include feminine laughter (the China track, the Syrian one). One of these little things that makes your tracks so endearing to me.
It delights me that you've noticed this. :) Thank you for giving my videos the gift of your attention; I'm glad that we share an appreciation for bright, cheerful bursts of laughter.
I too love this. I notice that however hard I try I can’t pick up what language is being spoken. I wonder if that is intentional. Ambience of Yesteryear? Audrey ♥️
@@audreyrichmond412 I'm not Ambience of Yesteryear, but I've seen her comment on other videos that she tries to keep the language unintelligible in most cases, so it's less distracting; I know of one video that uses a mixture of Dutch and Korean, for example. In others, such as the two set in China or the Belle-Epoque Paris video, she uses the local language. From the comment threads, native speakers of those languages do seem to be able to understand them, but I haven't managed it myself.

This is in my top 3 favorite ambience vidéos, on a total of about 150...! Very relaxing and regenerating. Love the sound of the waves, and the singing of the birds is super awesome. The image is so relaxing also: stepping out of the crazyness of modern life, reconnecting with a more human scale of everything, especially a more natural rythm, with real peaceful moments, and feeling the natural energy of the environment and beings.
