Dude, this is one of the best reviews I have ever seen! As someone who has been looking for a replacement for my non stick starter walmart set, I think I’m sold on these!
It’s been 3 years since this video… but I loved your overall presentation… especially on this product. Thank you for your time and effort.
This is one of the most helpful reviews for pots and pans I have seen! I really appreciated all the real cooking examples. Thank you!
Thanks for checking it out.
This is gold. It's hard to find videos of people cooking using ss pans
Thank you, I appreciate the good words! I agree with you totally with the ss comment.
Great review, loved seeing the set being used in day to day cooking
This is one of the best reviews I have ever seen on UA-cam. You earned yourself a subscriber.
Thanks for checking it out and subscribing
All of your foods look great. Can’t wait until my stainless steel cookware comes tomorrow
Great review. Extreme helpful!!!! I will be purchasing now
Thank you for the amazing & thorough review!
You make me wanna get them right. Being researching pans for the past month and this is best I've watched.
Great review and super comprehensive testing!! You deserve more views/subscribers!
This review is so good and you seem like such a wonderful, genuine person. Thank you for this, we're gonna get these pans! Thank you!
I appreciate the kind words. I hope the pans treat you as good as they have treated me and help make amazing food. Thanks for watching
Your food looks amazing
Great video, thank you for showing them in action! Been tempted to pull the trigger on the Misen set, and I think this seals the deal 👍 Definitely agree with the "shiny" part and how it just compels one to have some steak seared on it 😃
Well if you do pull the trigger, I hope they work as well for you as they do for me. I'm still surprised that they can make such a good steak. Thanks for checking it out
Great review, and your opinions are valuable in the various ways you use the equipment.
fantastic video, thanks! very nicely balanced between giving us great information without nonsense
Thanks for checking it out
hey thanks for the comprehensive review, loved seeing all the different meals being cooked in the pans.
Thanks for checking it out. I was glad I was able to share the footage rather than everyone just taking my word for it.
Great video, I was looking to buy and you made that decision easy thank you for putting the time into this video.
UPDATE 06/01/23 I have had the pans for a month and use them every day and let me tell you they are good. Pans heat evenly and they clean well I am very happy with the purchase. Again, thank you for this video!
My turn next. Just bought 6qt Rondeau.
U just made me extremely hungry, and I bought a 12 inch skillet so I'm glad you like them!! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and I hope your new pan works great.
Nice review. I ordered the complete set before watching your video based on consumer reviews.
Well done!
This was a great review video. Thanks for the effort!
No problem. Thanks for checking it out
I bought a Misen Carbon Steel pan and absolutely love it. Looking to replace my 35 year old stainless steel set soon (which have seen better days). Your video helped in making my decision to go with Misen. Great video review. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for checking it out and watching, I'm glad I could help. I have been interested in their new carbon steel lineup. I've been considering trying one out as it sounds like they are great pans too.
lovely review!!! thanks so much for the amazing detail. i was really debating on if i should splurge on the all-clad....im going to go with misen. in my later years, i can always upgrade to all-clad, if necessary. for the price, these can't be beat. i hope they last us a very long time!! happy cooking :-)
Thanks for review bought frying pans to try out when I saw your review. Looking to buy 12pc set when available. Thanks again best review on youtube.🎉😊
This is helpful and gives more reassurance in the brand.
Great review!! Thank you!
Thanks, I appreciate the view
OK first thing thanks for a great review 👍 I am now a follower so keep up the great work sir enjoy your day and thanks again .
Great review!!! Thank you for the info
Thank you. I appreciate you watching
This was a GREAT review! Loved ALL the foods you cooked!!! Made my mouth and stomach water!!! I really like your approach too... funny. Thank you for this!
Thanks for checking it out and all the kind words
@@CookingtoFeast I ordered the Complete Set on 4/13/2021 (shortly after seeing your video I think - I was intrigued but wanted to see what it looked like In Real Life!) and it ARRIVED TODAY! Wow. I was not expecting to see such a big box. And, I pulled out one of the pieces now and it is SUBSTANTIAL/HEAVY. VERY, VERY NICE. So far, by the looks of it, it's EVEN BETTER/NICER than I was expecting. Wow again! Anyway, just thought I would share and thank you again for not only showing the In Real Life actuality of it but cooking in it as well. That really helped!!!
OKAY, cannot STOP gushing over this BEAUTIFUL COOKWARE!!! Wow. Wow. Wow. I opened up and took out everything by now and it is GORGEOUS!!! And, as you say in the review, HEAVY-DUTY (SUBSTANTIAL). It is not so heavy that you cannot use and lift it, but you can tell this stuff is QUALITY. I love the fact they have the 60-day test drive kind of thing that if you don't love it you can return it, so that made pulling the trigger on something you don't get to see and feel in person easier. I was also impressed by the fact they have a lifetime warranty. I cannot find any information about that so I am hoping that means they stand behind their products for life! Anyway, AMAZING so far. Excited to cook with them!
Jealous you got the complete set. I hope it works out well. That first lifting of the pan still stands out to me in my memory. I'm so used to lifting them now I don't pay the weight any attention anymore
Energy is unbeatable... what a great fking video king!
Good review. Thank you
Awesome, very helpful review. Very rare to find reviews that show real-life use of the cookware. I really enjoyed watching the review, except that it made me really hungry.
Awesome video im sold!
A very nice review. Thank you
Thanks for watching
Nice review. I was thinking buying some All-Clad, but these look good.
Great video man! Really usefull review
I appreciate it. Thanks for checking it out
GREAT review!
I’m on the waiting list for a set.
Can you maybe do a comparison between Misen and All Clad?
Maybe just a skillet vs skillet.
great content, keep it up!
I just bought these I hope they are as good as you're saying they are thanks for the video!
Thanks for checking it out. I really do think they are great pans. You may already be familiar with stainless steel pans but if not, here are a few tips. Always have the pan come up to temperature first (this could take a few minutes depending on the temp). Always add your oil or fat after it has heated up and then immediately add your food to the pan. Last thing is be mindful of the temp, the medium to medium high setting on my stove is more than enough for everything. Medium on a gas stove can get these pans extremely hot. I hope you get the same results as me and thanks again.
@@CookingtoFeast I am not familiar with stainless steel, we've always had really cheap pans so I'm excited for a bit of a step up, thank you for the tips! :)
Sold. Just bought the misen 6qt roondeau. Hopefully it is great.
Now that is what I call a full cookware review. Most of the reviews I have watched pale in comparison. I hope you will review others like Made in, Heritage, All Clad. I am subscribing in hopes your channel catches on.
I appreciate it. I would love to get some made in stuff. Well really any cookware because I have an addiction to it but carbon steel pans are next on the list. Thank for watching
Great video. You earned a sub.
Thanks for subscribing
Cool thing is you can apply these techniques for and stainless steel cookware. Even my mainstays stainless steel cookware set!!!
Great man!
Thank you. I appreciate the view
Great video my man lolll subscribed
Thank you! I appreciate it. Thanks for watching and the support.
10/10 review
Thanks for the video, I love my new le creuset steel pan as well, your meals look delicious, although I got a heartattack from just watching the video, so much butter and meat an cheese and deep frying ;)
You totally glossed over how much effort that tart must've taken haha great job though this is exactly what I was looking for. Got some pans coming this week
Yeah it was a little bit of work. Thanks for watching, I hope your pans work out great.
I paused this video halfway to say this is my favorite cooking and review video. The steak n' cheese comment made me pause it 🤣🤣
I love Misen's products. But both times I've ordered stuff, I've had issues with the shipping. They were shipped from CT, one went all over the country for 2 weeks before finally getting to me, the other order was lost for a month until it surprised me on my doorstep. Anyhoo, great products, love the channel, love the vids. Keep it up.
That's too bad. Fortunately mine came in decent time last June but sounds like they are inconsistent. Thanks for all the support
Nice one sir. May I ask where you bought that insert you used on the stock pot? TIA.
Really high quality video by the way, straight to the point and no BS. Very helpful to have all this footage showing the size of the pans and how much food fits in each one.
My only question is, is the 12" pan too big for an electric stovetop with burners that are 10" in diameter? When I use my cast iron, the center is always disproportionately hot compared to the edges. Is that an issue with the misen 12" pan at all?
I appreciate it. Thanks for watching. I'll check when I get back home and take a measurement of the bottom surface
So I just got a chance to measure the pan. While the top is 12 inches across, the bottom part of the pan that makes contact with the stovetop is just a hair under 10 inches. So I would guess you would get a pretty even hear distribution but the side walls will most likely be cooler as the curve of the pan is about an inch. From experience on my glass top, the majority of the pan is even but the very sides are slightly cooler but not usually an issue for me
@@CookingtoFeast Sweet, thanks man - do you think I'd be better off getting the 10" stainless skillet in that case? Only thing is, I was going to get the saute pan as well so it might be kinda pointless to get the 10" stainless & the saute pan when they're around the same size...
Personally I would rather have two different sizes. I think you could get a lot of the same results with the 10 inch saute and fry pan. They hold about the same amount as well. The 12 inch is a lot bigger and if I'm cooking for more than one or two portions, the 10 is too small. It sounds like you also have a 10 inch cast iron pan as well so having variety might be better. Also if you are searing multiple items, you run the risk of overcrowding your smaller pan. Just my thoughts
@@CookingtoFeast Thanks for your advice brother I just got the 12" stainless, the saute pan, and a 10" nonstick 👍😃 keep up the excellent vids
Damn im sold
I just got my set of Misen pans for Christmas, excited to use them. Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Looks like a lot of it has to do with heating the pan up before and getting it really hot.
For sure. Letting the pre heat is key. They really do retain a lot of heat so I would recommend preheating at a medium low and just let it set for 2 to 3 minutes that way you don’t overshoot your temperature
Would you happen to have their 8in stainless steel pan? Trying to get an idea of the specific dimensions of the bottom of the pan and the interior cooking surface if you're willing to check/stake some photos of that from a few angles?
Do you have to season stainless steel when you first buy it? These look amazing! Great job!
Thank you. You don't need to season stainless steel at all. It won't rust or tarnish as long as you dry them properly. If you are curious about seasoning because of sticking like cast iron, most don't do that method to Stainless but some do. It is possible to get a thin coating and kinda treat them like you would cast iron.
Great review, you covered so many points! I guess my one question would be how well did they retain their shape after 6 months of use? Have you seen any warping at all?
I haven't noticed any warping or any effects from the heat. They have stood up well. Slight wear and tear but overall in great condition. Thanks for watching
Awesome I’ll definitely look into upgrading my current set to this! Keep up the good work 🤙🏻
@@CookingtoFeast I’ve read reviews that the finish coat on the bottom can get pitted/discolored when adding salt to hot water and rust spots after dish washing or soaking...
Have you witnessed any of those things?
@@edwardprokopchuk3264 I haven't, but your not supposed to soak them just clean after each use while there still warm.
I have been looking at the ALL CLAD 3 ply. I heard five play is more forgiving
great! Thank you!!! I am looking for great cookware!
BTW, where did you buy that pasta insert to go with the 8qt
Have you tried MADE IN cookware?
Thanks for checking it out. I haven't tried made in yet but it's definitely on my list. I really want to get the carbon steel skillet and roasting pan. Maybe some sheet pans too. The insert is just an instant pot style thing I got on Amazon that also happens to be the right size for the 8qt. smile.amazon.com/dp/B077NQY5QN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_JJDYA73Q83FK873PT5YK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
As they are five ply, were they more forgiving than three play? I am looking at stainless steel, but I would like them made in the USA. Is Misen made in the US?
It seems to distribute heat evenly, it's important to know if your range was induction or not 😅 also, great video 👍🏻
Thanks for checking it out. That range was definitely not induction. Just a glass top but I can say that the last 8 months I've been using gas and they work just as great.
I like misen. I have 2 nonstick, 2 SS fry, 1 SS saucier, 1 cast enamel braiser and they are all nice especially for the price. While I want all clad and made in, I just can't afford them at the moment and this brand will do for now, well it will last for life, but I just want non China made stuff. The SS is heavy duty and rest assure it's nice stuff. I could probably hammer nails with it or use it to whack someone if needed and it would be fine. Lol.
Thank you for the review! Appreciate you showing different applications. Idk if it's just my understanding, but do they only not stick if u put a bunch of oil on?
Thanks for checking it out. Some sort of fat is needed generally for them to be non-stick. Also the proper cooking temp as well. Stainless steel actually isn't very polished on a microscopic level and food sticks in all the cracks. Oil helps lubricate and fill in those gaps. Non stick pans are very smooth so there is nothing for food to cling to in general.
@@CookingtoFeast Thank you so much!!!
I think you sold me on the Misen cookware, Prudent Reviews recommended them. Awesome video demonstrating extensively all the different delicious dishes you can make! How are they holding up since you had them?
They make nice stuff, it really is quality and a great price. I'm sure you know this now, or you didn't buy them and I'm telling you. Lol.
I have a 2 year old SS saucier and it looks brand new. I use it daily too..
How does this brand compare to Made In? Trying to decide which brand I want to try out.
How do you bring back the shine to those pans?
nice
Great video. I’m getting cloudy residue on mine. How do I get the shine back ?
Probably late. Just use some vinegar.
How does it compare to Cuisinart stainless steel pans and kirkland brand?
1. Can they go from stove top to oven?
2. How much is it for each level?
hi great vid! i was wondering, do you think the 3qt saucier is big enough to use as a stock pot for a single chicken carcass + veg?
I don't think it would be big enough. You might be able to fit a very small chicken in it but you wouldn't have room for anything else including much liquid. The 7 qt stock pot would definitely work but might be too big for what you have in mind. Thanks for watching
@@CookingtoFeast very helpful thanks!
There is no UA-cam review on 6 Qt rondeau. I want to buy it, but would like to see the review first, like yours.
I actually bought the rondeau pan a few months and have been using it fairly regularly. I'm putting together footage for an update and the additional pans I bought.
@@CookingtoFeast Thank you! That would VERY helpful :)
Can you do a video on how to clean them up to shiny again?
Sure I can do that. It will take me a couple weeks to get the footage and edited but would be happy to show it. Thanks for watching
Did you have a link to purchase full set? Cant find on amazon...
I don't believe they sell through any third party store. Here is the link to directly view their items for sale. misen.com/collections
How are you keeping them so shiny and clean? Please share.
I would recommend the powder version of "bar keepers friend". Make a paste with a small amount of water and rub all over. In most cases you can just rinse off in a minute and have a shiny pan again. Some stuck on material might take additional scrubbing. Thanks for watching.
@@CookingtoFeast Bar Keepers Friend is the best! 👌 I'm 38 and grew up knowing about it since I was a kid. Use it once and you'll be sold for life.
Are you not fully cleaning these in-between use? Or do they just leave a little brown on them permanently after first use?
Edit: I see at the end of the video they still look good! Great video! And what a beautiful tart!
I don't always shine them up after every use but I definitely give them a thorough scribing and remove all food and stains after each use.
@@CookingtoFeast I had just edited my comment as you commented! Looks great!
No problem. Thanks for watching and for the compliment. I have a video on the tart btw
Where did you get the strainer that's inside the pot thanks
It's the salbree 8qt instapot insert. I got it on Amazon. Thanks for watching smile.amazon.com/dp/B077NQY5QN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_jEAdGbCHXCMRT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@CookingtoFeast thank you for the information and the response
would you say the 3qt saucier is too big for 1-2 person cooking?
Most of the cooking I do is for 1-2 people. I'd say it's a good size for things like mashed potatoes and a few servings of soup. I would consider this a medium size pot and can be too big for smaller amounts. I would probably find myself using the 2qt more often if I had one but I don't find the 3qt to be a problem. Thanks for checking out the video.
@@CookingtoFeast thanks! i've been looking into buying the saucier, but i can't decide between the 2qt and the 3qt. great review!
Got a link for that stock pot insert?
Sure. It's Original Salbree Steamer Basket for 8qt Instant Pot Accessories, Stainless Steel Strainer and Insert fits IP Insta Pot, Instapot 8qt, Other Pressure Cookers and Pots, Premium Silicone Handle smile.amazon.com/dp/B077NQY5QN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_H1C1V1A16RAJJBMDV0TA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It would have been great if you showed us how you clean them. I worried about getting them due to the cleaning required.
What issue with cleaning? Scrub them till its clean, unlike non sick you don't need anything special for SS. Use barkeepers friend and scrub away..
How can i get them. I am in Botswana
Are they comparable to all clad d5?
First I'll say that I've never used all clad d5 so I can't give a personal opinion on performance but they are similar construction wise. Both are five layers of alternating stainless steel and aluminum. The all clad is 2.6 mm thick while the misen is 3mm so the ones in the video are slightly thicker. If I had to guess I would say performance is most likely comparable. Thank you for watching
How do you clean the cookware?
To clean, just simple soap and water with a Sponge. It won't remove all stains but will get clean. To remove and discoloration, I use bar keepers friend and form a paste with it. Let it sit for a minute and scrub of wipe it off and it shines up nice. Thanks for watching
How is the cleanup on these pans? Do you use them in the dish washer or by hand?
The clean up is pretty good with them. Once I got use to the right temperature levels on them, I had minimal food stuck on so cleaning was fairly easy with just a sponge. I then polish them up with bar keepers friend. I don't regularly put them in the dish washer but have a few times and they come out fine. The website says the are fine for the dishwasher. Thanks for checking the video out.
@@CookingtoFeast By "getting used to the right temperature levels" you mean preheating them prior to cooking (i.e. the mercury ball test, etc.) ?
Yep, preheating and also not overheating the pans as they can get incredibly hot
@@CookingtoFeast I hope you are still around to see this post but I have a question regarding preheating stainless pans. I have seen videos regarding the need to preheat your pan until the leidenfrost effect happens. But what if what you are cooking requires a higher temp or lower temp than what you preheated your pan to? Will that eliminate the preheating step you just did and create an extremely sticky surface? Hope what I'm asking makes sense.
What happened to the rice did it stick to the pan?
If I remember correctly I think there was a little rice residue left on the bottom. Thanks for watching
is this food grade stainless steel?
Yes, the surface layer is 18/10 stainless steel. misen.com/pages/faq
what about cleaning? is it dishwasher safe?
Normally I clean with soap and water. For any stains or hard to remove stuff I use bar keepers friend. Misen says on their website you can put them in the dishwasher.
I see your using allot of oils , butter etc to prevent from sticking . How would one use these pans to cook with minimal to maybe no oil/fats?
With stainless steel, the use of oil and fat is going to be necessary or the food will absolutely stick. It is just the nature of using them. Now I probably do use more oil and fat than necessary so you could just use less or even cooking sprays and that would help. Cast iron and carbon steel have more maintenance but are very non stick like and require a lot less oil when seasoned properly. Perhaps look into those as well.
After i saw this brand on Facebook here i am watching the real review. Anyway, it didn't warp right or rust after a few used? Just wanna make sure before i purchase it. I was debating between all clad and hexclad but i don't wanna spend too much money with same lifetime warranty.
I've had the pans for almost 8 months now. I haven't noticed any rust and I would be surprised if they warp. The pans are really thick with 5 layers and they've got some weight to them. I've never really taken them that far past medium heat as they get really hot if preheated. All the "glamour" shots taken for the video were right before I released it. I've had a really good experience with them but I've never used all clad or hex clad pans for comparison. Thanks for watching.
@@CookingtoFeast how bout the handles does it get hot or no? I'm about to show this to my husband and I'm sure he will be happy if i told him i want misen instead of all clad 😆
I haven't had any issues with the handles. They can warm a little bit but no where near hot or burning. Just don't forget and touch them if you put the pan in the oven which is easy to do.
@@CookingtoFeast okay thank you so much very informative.
@@CookingtoFeast i just got mine today. I'm excited to use it soon and it's really heavy just like cast iron lol
When a fat guy like this who loves food does this review, you know this is an honest review.
MEE-sen, not MY-son. It comes from French culinary term “mise en place” (MEEZ ahn plass). Misen’s website describes this as the origin of their name.
I know but thank you. Several other people beat you to the punch on that.
And the brand says their products aren’t toxic like the usual non-stick pans
Cause they're stainless steel not nonstick
March 13th Taco Bell is officially bring back all potato dishes.
That's the best news I've ever heard. Thank you!
Geez, is it completely obvious that this is a sponsored review or is it just me? By the way dude, you might want to pronounce the name of the company right. It's "mee-sen" as is Mi Sen Place. Says so right on the box.
I bought them myself. Thanks for watching
Darien, why so douchey bro? Maybe you were hangry after watching this. He had a positive review, so what? That doesn't make it sponsored. I own the Misen 10" and agree 100% with this review. Grab a Snickers next time maybe.
