I miss the 80's so much & would totally go back in a heartbeat if I could! Those were the days! 🤩

Having graduated HS in 1985 I'm pretty much ground zero for the 80's. Entering as a kid, exiting an adult. My fondest cinematic memory was senior year cutting class to go see Breakfast Club in the theaters. A movie about HS seniors in detention. So upon return to class we were busted and had to go to detention! Art imitating life imitating art.
My life is considerably better now than as a teen though, so I have no nostalgia about returning. That said I am extremely thankful to have grown up when I did - the idea of spending my youth in a social media universe seems horrible and decidedly unhealthy. I also remember going out to see concerts like Van Halen and AC/DC for $20. It was an EXPERIENCE. Now you'd pay $2000 to watch Taylor Swift and be surrounded by people holding their phone up. No thanks.
Books! I read real actual hardcover books - so did everyone else. And newspapers. Now what? Twitter? It's not that the 80's were great (nice job summarizing many of the struggles of the Reagan era BTW), but I'm not sure we're evolving culturally either.

I did leave out the threat of nuclear war and the TV movies and films that focused on that threat. That may be a future video! Liked hearing your reminiscences.
