Excellent vid mate. I do like the idea of this product, but wasn't sure after trawling through all of the dodgy videos that exist. You are well researched, articulate and easy to follow. I'm sold, so thank you for that. Oh. And it helps that your priorities for set up are almost identical to mine. 👌👍
Thanks mate. I have slightly changed the setup so that I can view the transmission temperatures and engine temperatures on the main screen. Got rid of average kpl to page 2 and can't remember what else I moved.
Hey mate Great Video. i watched your build as it came out just chasing an update on you Trans temperatures after the cooler install. I recently done a trip and hit 120 so time for a cooler and a service
Cheers. Never seen it hit three figures since installing but haven't done any hard low range drives. Also I don't tow, car weighs about 2.7 ton or 2.9-3 when fully loaded with gear. Usually gets to 98ish degrees and stops there. Doing slow speed will affect it as there's less wind flowing over tranny cooler but most of my driving recently has been long drives. Last time I did slow low range was in winter anyway so couldn't get a good gauge on it as the outside air temps were cold.
I was middle summer H4. Was hot outside and slow track. Have yet to check vehicle weight. But estimate to be more than your fitout. Wellbody with fibreglass canopy and old school wooden fitout😅. Will sort a cooler soon. Cheers dor the feed back
You are so right about how frustrating it is finding the codes for transmission temperature. Got the Ultragauge MX 1.4 a few weeks ago for my 2016 Toyota RAV4 and till today I'm still looking for those codes. Even the rav4 forums don't have them for some reason. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Not too sure. I never looked too much into Toyota codes but I thought they'd be the most common. If there is a code for scanguage it can often be changed to suit Ultraguage with some tweaks.
@@TheBrowneTown Hi. Thanks for your content. Do you know from whereabouts the temperature sensors is located to give you your reading? i.e. is it oil temperature within the transmission case or coolant temperature?
@@nivek_nzI think this depends on the car. Some cars have temperature sensors in the transmission oil pan (interpreted as Trans pan); also inside the transmission to pick up gear temps and some even have sensors on the torque converter (mostly trucks) which is the component that generates the most heat until the converter locks up when a certain speed is reached
ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/support/Ultra_Gauge_EM_Manual.pdf page 36 Basically you drive around for a full tank of fuel, or more if you want, then you tell it how much fuel you had to put in and it works out a correction factor. You have to set your speed/distance to be correct BEFORE doing the mileage though.
@@TheBrowneTown thank you good man!!.. I couldn't add fuel amount it said na and kept going back, I'll try again Great video. When I fill up I hold down key and resets fill tank at fill up but that can't be accurate
No dramas. Yeah that's what I do, it just resets it to 80 litres (in my case) or whatever you put as your tank size. Then it counts down from 80 again using the calibration that you put in.
Great video!!
Cheers.
Very good mate
Best review
Thanks mate, it's a handy little bit of kit.

Will this show transmission temperature?
Do you think it would also show trans temp for 2019 CX5?
Hi, mine shows transmission temperatures in either °F or °C, I am not sure about the CX5, I would say that it would but that would be a guess only.

Sorry I don't know, it is a factory reading that this displays but I don't know where it is taken from.
