Ranking 40 Modifications From Worst to Best || 2 Year Evaluation
In this video I will go through 40 mods that I have done to the Mazda BT-50 and order them from my least favourite mods to my favourite mods. This isn't the "best" mods for other people to get when building a car, just those that I have found the best or most useful to have.

      Hey mate, if yours is the same as mine you'll need to tap into the camera feed in the rear view mirror and take it down with a cable. I have another video about moving your camera feed from the rear view mirror that has all the details for it. You can move it completely from the rear view mirror or wire it so it appears in the rear view mirror and the head unit.

      Ahh ok, I would have thought the factory one would have an existing RCA plug that needs to be plugged into the T'eyes reverse cam RCA plug (I think it was yellow) that's on the back of the unit. Mine was labelled, all the connectors in the wiring loom. The wiring loom has a small white clip with pins that connects to the back of the unit.

    Great video! I'd rank the dash cam high as it's for one of those low probability/high consequence events. I have the RedTiger 11" rear mirror dash cam. Got it off Amazon for $199 and it has 4K front and 2.5K rear cameras. I had the previous version (1440/1080) and that's migrated to my wife's car now that the new one is in the Triton. The rear camera is mounted to the top of the back wall of the canopy. So that gives me rear vision + dash cam recording front and rear. I feel naked driving without a dash cam now. So it's an essential. For me ;-)

    • @TheBrowneTown
      @TheBrowneTown 19 днів тому

      I like the reverse one for every day driving, but I do need to upgrade it soon as I can see it failing permanently one day. I don't regret the forward facing dash, it's just uninteresting and something has to be last 😛

I like the mirror-type dash cams as you can see immediately if they are working or not. -Just my two cents. My lowest rank item would be an Ultragauge Bluetooth OBD. What a supreme piece of crap. It is true that to do it without having to drill a hole then you would have to remove the dash. You can do it this way to save money, maybe even ask the dealership to do it this way if you really wanted? Most people don't have the time or patience for removing the dash for an issue which is likely to pop up again and again because the part itself seems dodgy.

      I ran cables through the firewall in the front left hand side of the car, behind the glove box (for right hand side drive cars) and into the engine bay. I actually did this in a different video as part of the car build so I already had cables ready to go technically. I have a blue sea safetyhub 150 in the engine bay that I use for all accessories, so all I needed was a ring lug to connect my a five and negative wires to this fuse hub, otherwise you connect direct to the battery.

      Possibly, but it's not the only problem an air con system can have so I can't say for sure.

    Drone alllowed to take a video in that temple?

    • @TheBrowneTown
      @TheBrowneTown 2 місяці тому

      You need a permit to fly in Thailand. Don't fly over people's heads or over crowds. When I went in 2020 there were no issues but if they have put signs up saying no drones then don't fly it. I went at sunrise and waited for everyone who was praying to leave before taking off and I didn't fly over the temple. I flew from the outside and then circled it. Just be respectful and check if you need a permit.

    • @TheBrowneTown
      @TheBrowneTown 2 місяці тому

      No issues so far but I'm not exactly doing water crossings or anything like that. Has been fine, dust proof and lightweight. I think the locks on the toolboxes and the trundle drawer are a little finicky but once you're used to it it's a non-issue. It does exactly what I need it to do and hopefully I hold into it for another 10 years or so. I'm not into flipping things for no reason I try to make purchases that last. Plenty of canopy manufacturers these days though to choose from.

    Hello Great Video. Just a question in regard to the piggyback anderson plug. Say for instance I had one of these connected to a n anderson plug lead on the van that presumeably come from the battery. . Can I plug in 2 Portable Solar Panels/Blankets One is a 280W 20.5 Volts (Panel) and the Other is a 200W 18 volts Blanket, both with MPPT. Or am I better putting MPPT closer to the battery. and connect to each individual battery. I was told that I cannot connect the panels in parallel because of the different type and voltage of the batteries tks

    Well that's surprising. My wife and I tried to fit up the Roadsafe ones and it was a real test of our patience and communication skills. I didn't realise the Medicar ones were practically half the weight. Would've gone with those knowing that.

    Would a dirty throttle body cause my lancer to struggle at idle and occasionally die? As it drops rpm it tries to compensate and rev up a little around 1k

    • @TheBrowneTown
      @TheBrowneTown 2 місяці тому

      Hey mate, not too sure as I am not a mechanic. I kind of do preventative stuff more than actually analysing and fixing things. Won't be too hard to start there as step 1, nice quick job and if it doesn't fix it there could be other issues in the fuel system or timing maybe. But best asking someone who knows a bit more about fault finding cars than me.
