James did 50 Ironman Triathlons in 50 days, in 50 states. He was constantly on the move for 12 hours a day, running, swimming, and cycling. As soon as he was finished he had to travel to the next state.
Most days James only had about four hours to rest. That’s no time for your body to recover. Did he hurt? Did he want to give up? Of course. But James ended up powering through, breaking a Guinness World Record. At the end of the 50 days, his body had began to accept this was it’s new reality and he felt like he needed to do another triathlon.
Humans can push themselves so much further than you’d think. We just need to get over our mental barriers to see what we can really achieve.
Learn what it takes to develop your skills and overcome your boundaries, on Episode 653.

I agree that one of the most important part is where he says that you should be a problem solver and not focus on the negative. Since I’m star doing this, it has caught my attention how many people focus on speaking so negative about problems instead of solving them and enjoying it while you’re at it!

I love that he said "if I did journey like this again, which I won't"... and right now he's finishing up on the conquer 100!!! IC, you're the real deal!

23:30 start with writing all your fears/whats holding you back/hold conversations with yourself and analyze why ur not what u want to be, start with the smallest or least daunting of fears, start tackling it and gain small victories. Victory by victory. U gain momentum and confidence to tackle bigger fears.
Also, dont rob people from their rockbottom, by giving them everything, be supportive but they need to figure it out, learn and grow. U need to figure urself out. Awesome interview

He has told this story so often on his tours. Think about it. To narrow down the tale to make impact. The best part is that his core message is that mankind is great. To go where he has gone and come back with a message these words mean more than you think.

I've done an Ironman, so to hear his story .... wow! Honestly i can't conceive of doing 50 in a row! The mental toughness required is mind blowing.
& Lewis I've never seen you before - but that was awesome - you guys had a great chemistry going & the questions were fantastic.Loved it.
& the positive view on suffering, I feel that. That's what I need to work on. It was so encouraging to see that the darkest moments can be a foundation for us to be the best we can be. Blessings to you both

Although Im no James Lawrence (!!!), as a fellow Ironman, I loved this podcast. There is no better meditation than 140.6 miles connected to yourself and nature. Acknowledge the pain, accept the pain, connect to something greater than yourself, and push through discomfort to reach your greatness.

One of the best episodes ever! Iron Cowboy James proves that we can push our limits both mentally and physically and go farther than we ever imagined. I would like to request that you have Dan Schulman CEO of Paypal on your show. He gave an incredible speech at Rutgers 2018 commencement that was moving and inspiring.

This is Such an amazing story of strong will and self learning. It’s like he was in a flow state for 30 days! Thank you for this interview Lewis. Thankful James never gave up. With no words what he did teaches us sooo much in life is possible. I wanna see him dance in playfulness. Lol It was cool he shared that weakness. Praying for James to be more playful. 🙏🏼 time to watch the documentary, get the book, and share his story on what’s possible. Let’s do are best 60 seconds at a time 🙌🏼

This has really motivated me to persist in my plan to run my first marathon after having done several half marathons. Even though I've gotten some minor injuries, it's only there to test my discipline and eagerness to succeed Goal next year: first Iron Man. Thanks for this conversation. Like with many of your interviews, I will watch it more than once for sure. Cheers.

Also, what stood out to me is how far you can really push your body to go to new levels. It let me know that I need to create new challenges and push harder to create the body I want. That I can mentally get myself to level up physically.

Something caught my attention, I love today's show and you guys referred of yourselves as being only humans or as weak because you are only humans or "just humans", you get the idea right? Well, while I was listening to you guys I thought is the other way around, someone to achieve this kind of greatness can only be human. I think to be able to recognize our weaknesses is not "just human" is "super-human" and we all have it, not many of us do something about it, but you guys do, thanks for the great inspiration and maybe like Sadhguru said is time to realize that being human is super. Wish you all a wonderful day

Think Share congratulations!!! About 10 years ago i couldn't evwn jog a mile without stopping. Since then ive done about 4 half marathons, 10 marathons, 8 50ks, 2 50 miles, one 100k and March 2019 is when i fulfill my decade long dream of running a 100 miler. By just going a little farther each day its amazing what you can achieve

Lewis, I would love to be on your show, and I'm pretty sure I would not meet the credentials of what you would want, I'm a high school math teacher, I have done a tedx talk, I've written a book and I self published the audiobook. I have been growing a youtube channel and I aim to influence my students in the classroom and where they already spend a lot of time on social media.

Deliberate suffering for a purpose makes us grow. Was not taught by school, teachers, etc. Not blaming, just saying we don't really teach the lesson. Two choices: Pain of discipline, or pain of regret.

      Hey Lewis, things I got from this;
      1) I'm still stuck with fear of making mistakes; I don't embrace challenges yet. 23mins James gives me an in to how to break the fear in me.
Other things that came up for me while watching, not necessarily directly relate to what was spoken about, just triggered by them.
      2) Be aware of the 'scripts' that are running on automatic and replace those that are detrimental with 'scripts' that are empowering.
      3) I have achieved a lot since I first posted to your feed , back in October.
I need to praise myself for this, I'm not too good at this but be watchful that I don't started to slip back into complacency and get my sights onto the next step, whatever that is.
      4) I need clarity, to know what my end goal is, what my 'why' is to focus on the 'right' thing. Still working on that one.
